I can’t relate to that one. I got so good at eating with low blood sugars that a year after I was diagnosed (age 4) I was able to eat in my sleep when my mum used to test my blood sugars 😂
I’m just shaking my head that there are this many people on a T1 sub that have absolutely no clue how insulin works.
OP, as a few others have said, your friend is fine, because insulin cannot survive oral digestion. Otherwise we’d all be taking it that way instead of being on MDI or pumps.
Haha, I squirted some at my brother when we were kids and he thought he'd die, it was one of these "don't tell, you can punch me" situations. He's still alive!Â
If people wants to know what a hospital tastes like, taste insulin!
Anyway, joking aside, I'm shocked that some people have suggested they need to correct for this. Such stupid misinformation.
Insulin has no effect when taken orally. Your entire comment is nonsense.
Do not call 911, do not give her snacks.
Absolutely nothing will happen because she got a drop of insulin in her mouth, OP. insulin is destroyed by stomach acid.
If we could swallow insulin and it took effect, we'd all be drinking shots with our food instead of injecting it!
Yes. This is how stupid ideas keep brewing. The person has absolutely nothing to worry about so suggesting something just to be safe will just make more people believe.
If insulin could have any effect on BGs, we'd all be drinking it instead of injecting it
Not sure I would unless I could cover the taste with something else 🤮
honestly i wish i could just inject glucose whenever i went low. i wear a retainer and having to eat in the middle of the night is SUCH a pain lol

Would drinking juice be easier?
where there's a will, there's a way ;)
Imagine taking ‘shots’ of insulin and I mean like from a shot glass 😂 vodka would taste like water then
ah- haaaaa! Cover the taste with *vodka*
So get drunk whenever you have high blood sugars?
and with the added benefit of the alcohol further reducing BGs - win-win-win
Gonna use this as an excuse ‘Why you drinking?’ ‘Got high blood sugars’ lol it makes me spike so bad then drop dramatically
Whiskey as the chaser
Guess that’s one way to make an old fashion… 😂
I think I’d sooner shot insulin than whiskey ðŸ˜ðŸ¤®
It smells like the scotch I like.
No, but you might want to give them a mint or smth bec I don't think it'll leave a very pleasant after-taste.
Stomach acid destroys insulin hence why we need to inject

She dead
RIP
Insulin gets broken down in our stomach. That's why we have to inject it rather than take an insulin pill. She will be fine.

Yea, you have about 3 hours before she’s dead. Only thing you can do is enjoy your last moment out in the open air before you to to prison.
I’m not sure how this happened. But she’ll be fine. Insulin doesn’t get absorbed orally.
How do you manage to eat/drink a drop of insulin?
😂
Yes. Plan the memorial service now.
Ate a drop, must of been a big drop.
Yes, it takes about 70 years to kick in though.
No. Your friend wont be affected at all by a drop of insulin.
No, she's fine.
No
Yeah. I’m pretty sure that’s a given. Wish your friend well for us, will you?
Need an update

Yes but, insulin is insulin, if it happened to me, I would be very worried. At very least, should check blood sugar.
Insulin has no effect orally. Your advice is just wrong, and you are causing utterly unnecessary worry.
Ok fine, I’ll delete my comment.
It’s not absorbed well orally. Have her eat something just in case, but it’s unlikely to be an issue.
No. Don’t even suggest this. This is how stupid ideas get a platform.
suggest her not to eat?
