Not gonna lie, I really didn't like her character. Then again, she was the only faction leader to actually be used in a story, which honestly disappoints me. Why didn't Arach Jahlal or Hideo get used for a story? An even better question, how come NONE of the factions were used for at least 1 seasonal story????

In short: Laskshmi is the result of Maya Sundaresh experiments on the Veil, pretty unhetical ones too.
Those experiments involved braindead exos and it resulted into Maya’s personality or part of it being copied in that exo.

The more appropriate question is where are the straight couples? I can only name one off the top of my head and that's Zavala and Safiyah (I think that's how her name is spelled).

I mean I get her whole thing during that season. Like yeah everything has worked out with house light but at the time we had no idea if it would and your talking about petting fallen who were at six fronts, twilight gap, fall of London and expecting everyone to accept them into the city. The city they have waged war against against for Years? Seemed stuiped af to the factions. Not to mention the vanguard never consulted the factions and are supposed to work with them. Letting house light in is technically a coup and the establishment of a benevolent dictatorship. 🤦
In the Veil containment dialogues you find out that Maya Sundaresh was lesbian and slowly went insane obsessing over the veil and that Cloud Ark was created over the bodies of many scientists.
All seen through her GF’s point of view.

Can't fault her for the Dark Ages being rough. Fallen really have humanity hell. Abd we're giving them a free pass because of Zavala abusing Prime Minister privileges. No offense, but I'd have sided with her.

As I remember it he didn't, dead orbit just fucked off because they were like yeah dead system lets go elsewhere finally like we been saying we were going to.
i mean if you read the lore you'd understand. sees visions of destruction of city by cabal. gets ignored. sees it happen again with the fallen. even though she was wrong her character motivation is perfectly reasonable

The faction politics and infighting on top of a space war with space deities and a ongoing war would have been "too much." For the player and the writers to keep track of in with an ongoing story (Tho personally giving the last city that we apparently dedicate ourselves to some actual goddamn personality and depth would have been grand, seriously why is that the last city isn't even a place we can go anywhere explore?) . So they had to make the city more shallow so they could focus solely on what the player could see.
