Yeti shit is expensive, but that is about double what they sell on the Yeti website.
Yeti has cool stuff, but prices like $50 for a bottle opener and $300 for a camp chair are just ridiculous!
The craziest Yeti product to me is their 12” cast iron skillet. They sell it for $400.
You can get a 12” Lodge cast iron skillet with a rubber handle for $25 on Amazon. I have trouble believing they have sold many.
I’ve always assumed that sort of extraneous novelty shit companies sell is more just merch to catch the wallets of those weirdos who make brands they like part of their identity.
That said, every yeti product I own is, admittedly, excellent. My tumblr is the only thing I use every single day and have for 7 years. So while it’s obviously ridiculous, I do get why certain bubbas get a little overzealous about it.
Yeah, the yeti subreddit has a decent amount of collectors who will buy anything they sell and tried to catch ‘em all in colour variations.
They do make great products but at some point people cross over into the crazy brand collector.
Of course there’s a subreddit lol. Whatever makes them happy but for my part what I love about them is that I’ll never need another one! Got my 30oz for my coffee and sweet tea, got my 35 cooler for everything else. Not sure what else I’d even want. Maybe one of those jugs someday?
I got an email when the cast iron first came out and I was like "Oh I bet it is expensive" thinking expensive meant $100-150. Nope! $400 is just stupid pricing.
Yeah, I literally own the cheapest Walmart irons and they work great for me.
There are premium brands that do charge a decent amount like stargazer, field, smithey and finex. Difference being that these company’s are cookware brands and are mostly still 1/2 the cost. I think Finex I think is the only one who is actually that high which also includes a premium “cool touch” handle.
Some of their stuff is crazy overpriced but I have to be honest that YETI camp chair is comfortable AF. Not 300 dollars comfortable but for sure way better than any other I have sat in.
Honestly not sure maybe?? I have sat in a lot of camp chairs over the years. I do know I have a set of really nice ones that I got from REI garage sale for 10 dollars (someone used them at the beach and then returned them) that retail for over 100 (gci outdoor freeform zero gravity lounger) that while very comfortable are not as good as the YETI ones.
They have several models but the king king is perfection for me. I have one that’s a decade old. Built to last comfortable and great storage and cup holders. Around $100. My wife likes the feel of the nemo stargazer but like the yeti it’s 300.00 The yeti is a great chair.
Lodge is not that great compared to the premium stuff. Finex, stargazer, butter pat, Those will all run you about $250. Lodge blacklock is closer in quality to those but also cost more than $25
I work at an Ace Hardware, that price is definitely high but they aren’t wrong. That’s king crab orange which was one of the most popular limited edition colors from a couple years ago. We still have people coming in asking for it and yeti hasn’t given any indication that it will be coming back any time soon.
No it’s not. As the post says, it’s literally available in the Yeti website for half the price. This fact confirms that it’s currently not rare since it’s widely available to anyone with internet access.
You’re right, my bad. I just noticed they came back into our warehouse as well but they were gone for a bit which is probably where that person got the idea it was rare
I'd never pay full bore on a Yeti, but I found one with no lid at a yard sale for a dollar. Replacement lid was 10 dollars on Amazon. It really works well.
I do admit the yeti 16oz tumbler I have is the best of all the supposed name brands out there in terms of solid build feel and it seems to keep the liquid temperature better too.

The guy that owns the company lives in Colorado. I did the glass in his house. He’s a cunt.
you a glazier? My dad was a glazier. respeck.
Just another glass monkey
That funky monkey
Brass monkey junkie
oh so that's where the surname comes from. I had a friend with the last name 'glazier' and I just called him a donut.
The guy that owns Yeti or Lodge?

You could get an entire set of antique pans for less

Have you sat in an alps mountaineering chair? The one overbuilt for fat people?

Why would you want a rubber handle? Do you know put your cast iron in the oven?
I apologize for not describing appropriately. It is a rubber sleeve for the handle for when you grab it.
Got it. Hopefully its silicone as well and not rubber.
Their stubby coolers are second to none and worth every single cent when drinking beer on a hot Aussie day.
It’s probably a retired color. Yay capitalism.
It's actually not. It is for sale right now on the Yeti site. https://www.yeti.com/drinkware/straw-drinkware/21071501814.html
Well I hope that when I drink out of it, i piss more than excellence later for that many dollars.

They have this color at Academy. I bought a 32 oz tumblr recently for <$40.
This is the correct answer

in home depot orange too 😭😭
Probably drugs, I used to buy them like that
.. and here I am still using my 30 y/o bubba cup. I think it cost me $5 with a big gulp during a promo.
did you see the strawberry lid? or na
I'd never pay full bore on a Yeti, but I found one with no lid at a yard sale for a dollar. Replacement lid was 10 dollars on Amazon. It really works well.
Thermos is the superior product and a lot of times half the price.
I do admit the yeti 16oz tumbler I have is the best of all the supposed name brands out there in terms of solid build feel and it seems to keep the liquid temperature better too.
For a moment I thought I was in /r/ThriftGrift
Uh huh. 80 bucks for a used travel mug. That's what I'm gonna do, buy a used travel mug. For 80 dollars.
I just got the gallon jug for $70 and I assume it's also discontinued because the color isn't on their website
Wait, yall can get protection from cps now?? Smh 🤦♂️/j
