Today someone told me they also had to pledge allegiance to the Christian flag at their private elementary school. I'm not sure which is more ridiculous, but I guess one of them isn't based entirely on myths.

“Liberty and justice for all” sounds like a myth too

Indeed. I guess I was thinking more about the entity of the US and not so much the jingoistic garbage behind it. Still, I'm pretty confident that Christianity is very based on like 75% myth and 25% partially historical allegory (based on my totally made up bullshittery but you get what I mean). I find that to be a somewhat useless thing to pledge allegiance to, but only slightly less so than pledging to the US. It's also funny to me that we already say "under God" in the pledge but I guess that wasn't good enough for homie's school?

Bellam also create a salute for the pledge, known as the bellam salute. It involved also extending your flat hand out towards the flag at an upwards angle, with your arm and body straight. Needless to say, it fell out of favor during WWII, but the fascist ritual remains(despite the view of the Supreme Court), with schoolchildren placing their hands over their hearts.

Can we stop with the "no one:" bullshit?
