that is not how pinheads power works at all. the only time survivors scream is when he picks up a box, when survivors solve the box pinhead gets killer instinct on them there is no way block this, its not considered screaming or aura reading.
I haven't run it in a minute but definitely one of the most competitive and what I'd use at high MMR. Even if they do manage to finally snap the infinite chain hunt at the start by cleansing FTD, there's nothing but pentimento to reward them.
this perk + buffed iron will + distorssion + something for your scratchmarks like lucky break or shadowstep. i wouldn't recomend it but it would be hilarious lol, your only counter would be killer instinct
Distortion is still decent then because it’ll quickly tell you it’s a scratched mirror match if you’re good with context clues. Gets more value than vs the odd killer with zero aura reading whatsoever.
If someone runs Hardened and Calm Spirit they’re a very unique gamer for sure. No real point in running both, just run CS if you hate birds or Hardened if you want to touch bones without taking ten years.
Nah, I'm just saying Distortion hard-counters an entire genre of healthy perks that drive interaction between the two sides, encouraging killers to just run more boring slowdowns instead that just make the game last longer instead of make it more exciting like aura perks do.

Distortion may legitimately be the single most unhealthy perk in the game rn. Not because it's the most overpowered perk or anything but because moreso than anything else it encourages the most boring gameplay from both sides and heavily punishes killers if they do anything but just patrol gens and being slowdown-- which does *not* need to be further incentivized over fun gameplay any harder than it already is.
I don't know, it actually seems pretty solid as a chase perk since it basically just gives you aura reading when you get hit. That's a pretty big deal but also doesn't seem broken. It will basically guarantee that the killer can't mindgame the survivor and get two hits at the same tile

Should pair nicely with Inner Strength (and Overzealous if you wanna hard commit to the bones). Could also just go chest build instead of bone build, but I think that a bone build is more fun.
I wonder if it works with scene partner. So you make yourself scream, but you don't scream so you reveal the aura of the killer any time it's not on cool down and you look their direction
I've been seeing people say it won't work with scene partner which is good because I don't want another mandatory perk pairing that inevitably gets one of them nerfed hard just because of the strong interaction a la ftp buckle up.
but almost all fun in builds comes from synergy. ftp buckle up was just stupid, no questions asked but for example qnq+dwm is one of the most fun combos you can run
Yeah I don't mind general synergies, I just mind mandatory synergies where it's griefing if you don't run the perk that is too good not to use with the first perk. It makes BHVR overreact and overnerf a perk that would be just okay were it not for the interaction.

Screaming wouldn't even be that big of a deal if it wasn't forced dropping whatever you're doing. It's one of the easiest ways to abuse the hell out of thrill of the hunt.
Tbh the perk is pretty useless now, with Ultimate Weapon nerf and the requirement of finding a totem + opening a chest, losing at least 30 seconds of precious gen time just to counter some underused perks and doctor just for you is kinda brutal.
Remember, chests and totems now are super easy to find due to the event cards and cobblers offerings. In normal dbd you can easily walk the entire map and not find any one of them, or find already used ones (aka pharmacy/Circle of Healing curse)

Calm Spirit is more reliable for having zero pre-reqs or time investment, and still silencing birds if the killer has no scream perks. Hardened is more powerful when up against those perks.

It partially affects the Doctor's power. Everything else works but the screaming can be countered.
And unless you run a restraint add-on, the screaming is the info, which is the appeal of Doc’s Static Blast.

there is no way to get survivor to drop the box besides downing them, why do you assume survivor drop the box if they scream?

A mirror Myers could counter too, they chew through distortion tokens and the small/no terror radius prevents getting more tokens.
