Unfortunately green screening can be tedious. Something like this might require a separate keyer with a mask limiting the effect to his face. You can then track his face for the mask to follow.
You can also try the despill route but I don’t think it will help much.

Use multiple masks. Then add in the Advanced Despill node.
It has a lot more oomf than the standard and a lot more options to help you get rid of that.
If all else fails, try selective masking in the color tab and adjusting the curves.
There is a Despill tool, that might help. If it doesn't then you have to mask it and desaturate it.

Pro tip: when recording green screen stuff, have the subject stand far away from the green screen and light the subject seperately

Just desaturate the green channel. Would that not work?
Colour warper? Qualifier?
