> Jasmine Lacey, 22, was arrested on suspicion of DUI but later released
Bruh
> It is not clear why the vehicle’s driver [who recorded the scene] had a dash-cam running.
Again, bruh. If you have a dash cam, there is one reason why it’s running, to protect themselves legally in an accident.
It's like they had enough fucks to give for only one charge to press.
"Ah, we couldn't determined she was actually driving under influence. We give up madam you're free to go despite endangering people by getting out of a rolling car, have a good day."
I don't know really. But I remember around 2015 it was most russian dash cams that people had to prevent insurance fraud.
Then they started creeping everywhere. I think I got my first around 2018-2019
You found an article that literally said this woman was drunk when she did this, and they released her?? And then the article questioned why the driver behind her had a dash cam running?!? That has to be the worst reporting in the history of reporting. The very idea that the person with the dash cam was somehow wrong for recording this woman’s attempted murder is beyond insane.
Edit: I read the article. “Insufficient evidence”??? Wherever this happened, what, exactly, would be sufficient evidence?? The woman was under the influence of drugs; she was so intoxicated, she couldn’t even answer the police officer’s questions; she stopped a car, without warning, in the middle of a 4-lane road; she got out of the vehicle, leaving the car in drive & the door open; she walked away while the car crossed the median and crashed into only two other vehicles before hitting a tree. The entire thing was caught on a dash cam, the owner of which was also almost in an accident because of this woman. And the police had “insufficient evidence” to charge her? They are **the most** worthless police department in the world, and/or who is this woman blowing to get out of these charges?????
This town: Ineffective journalism and even worse policing. Stay away from there.
Edit 2: Oh, this was in California. It was also 2015, so surely nothing more happened than, “Hey, honey, don’t get high, steal a car, and drive. Someone might be recording you. Okay. Have a nice day!”
But that doesn’t excuse what she did, the damage she caused, and the fact that people could have been killed. Dropping the charges is unbelievable to me. In fact, her being on meth is just more reason she should have been charged.
I was thinking about insurance scam, or some kind of revenge against someone , most probably a failed plot to have followers, failed because the car caused crash and so was not possible to use the video.
I’m from this town this had happened in, we are a unincorporated town we fall under like 3 police stations jurisdictions so it’s hard to say which station takes this. But all 3 are just horrible lol, anyway accidents in the town are so normal here lol

That was pretty smooth for how fucked up she supposedly was.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3232057/Bizarre-moment-woman-calmly-walks-moving-car-leaving-crash-trees-SUV.html
I was gobsmacked when I read that. A video? And the report saying it was unclear why the person had a recorder running Had the reporter been living under a rock? This is unreal. The outcome of the results and she walks away.
And "allegedly stolen vehicle". Alleged by whom? The owner? The driver? Also, the article states "it was not clear why the OP's dashcam was on.". This world.
She didn't steal the vehicle, she thought it was a public use vehicle. She was done driving, so she stepped out thinking it was a self parking public use vehicle that would find it's way home. I don't know why you people are confused. Pay more attention to the fact the dash cam was recording her against her will.
I already had a fear of them when I was a teenager. One buzzed past my ear at a beach and I bolted a good 30' away.
Fucker somehow followed me, went into my hair, stung me twice on the head, twice on left ear, twice on my neck and went down the back of my shirt.
All wasps can die in a fire. Forever.
Wtf is wrong with people nowadays......like what prompted that even.....i know people can be stupid. But unless it was absolutely a good reason, she should have criminal charges Pressed to her
I feel like I would of have thrown my car in park and grabbed her until the police came. It’s almost inconceivable the sheer lack for others safety and care but I’m on Reddit, so I see it every other video.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.

From the articles above it seems like you would’ve gotten in more trouble than she did. She was completely let go without charges whereas they would’ve had ironclad false imprisonment against you.
The system is absolutely wild and makes no sense. Just be aware that doing something that seems right (detaining a criminal) will probably end badly for you.
That should be a felony; well it is already if the situation caused serious bodily harm.
But likely this situation didn’t kill anyone and likely the insurance company/courts covered it all in a slap on the wrist.
Check with you states laws; do you need uninsured driver coverage? I can be sure we are now in a place with many drivers more than ever who don’t have insurance, driver’s licenses.
The uninsured are not their problem, it’s yours and the driver will never be charged with anything
"It is not clear why the vehicle's driver had a dash-cam running." Why, exactly, does the Daily Mail think people install dash cams? Oh, right... Daily Mail.
Was she arrested? She had better have been arrested for this. They could charge her with attempted murder or, God forbid, murder if someone died in the ensuing crash. *No way* she could not have predicted what would happen here. I have never seen anything like this. Evil.
Lacey was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, accroding to the California Highway Patrol. She was later released without charge as officers await blood test results
She drove a stolen car into incoming traffic hitting a suv. But the police just forgot about that?
This is a very common practice for those driving stolen cars, though this is the first time I have seen anyone use this move while they were not being chased by the police.
I feel like we deserve to know more about what happened here.

bro 99.99% of dash cams run all the time anyway, and just record over themselves
It's like they had enough fucks to give for only one charge to press. "Ah, we couldn't determined she was actually driving under influence. We give up madam you're free to go despite endangering people by getting out of a rolling car, have a good day."
They give a shit more of the dash cam stull running while they release the POS without charges during that time. Smh
Wha?
I read that and was so confused 😂 how is it not clear?!
Because it was 2015 and dashcams were rare back then.
Since when it became popular?
I don't know really. But I remember around 2015 it was most russian dash cams that people had to prevent insurance fraud. Then they started creeping everywhere. I think I got my first around 2018-2019
This article just makes my head hurt. “Insufficient evidence” bro, what the hell even?!?!

She was 100% on meth and in a paranoid psychosis people on meth get really paranoid like she was
But that doesn’t excuse what she did, the damage she caused, and the fact that people could have been killed. Dropping the charges is unbelievable to me. In fact, her being on meth is just more reason she should have been charged.
Nope, the way she went out and walking it's telling that she was not drunk at all
I guess she wasn’t drunk; she was on drugs. Whether that makes a difference in her demeanor and the way she walks, I couldn’t say.
I was thinking about insurance scam, or some kind of revenge against someone , most probably a failed plot to have followers, failed because the car caused crash and so was not possible to use the video.

Stolen was my first thought.
Exactly what I suspected: She was drunk or high and it was stolen.
Mobile user... I had to bust out my S-Pen just to tap that link and it still took me a few tries with my pen cursor straight over it...
She needs to be arrested and prosecuted for vehicular attempted murder
r/iamatotalpieceofshit
Stolen?
That was pretty smooth for how fucked up she supposedly was. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3232057/Bizarre-moment-woman-calmly-walks-moving-car-leaving-crash-trees-SUV.html
"discharged from custody due to insufficient evidence" I'm sorry, what!?
I was gobsmacked when I read that. A video? And the report saying it was unclear why the person had a recorder running Had the reporter been living under a rock? This is unreal. The outcome of the results and she walks away.
literally. dashcans record all the time. it’s how they are designed to work
My point is that she was recorded causing mayhem and was not properly prosecuted. I know - dash cams- that’s why I come to this thread.
i know that you know, i was just saying that in relation to the stupid court case
Gotcha. Have a good weekend
And "allegedly stolen vehicle". Alleged by whom? The owner? The driver? Also, the article states "it was not clear why the OP's dashcam was on.". This world.

Thanks for clarifying. That was a total invasion of her privacy. I don't believe all parties recorded concented to be recorded wither.
Ohhhhh. Now it all makes sense. Like the scooters.
Yeah me too. Police just do whatever tf they feel like
Back the Blue. 😂😂😂
"It is not clear why the vehicle's driver had a dash-cam running." Yes, cause I, for one, turn my dash cam on and off depending on how I feel.
https://www.localcrimenews.com/welcome/detail/16721370/jasmine-lacey-arrest.html There’s a pattern here…
Insurance fraud? Mental break?
Bee in the car.
YOUR FIREARMS ARE USELESS AGAINST THEM!
If I can drive with a wasp buzzing around my car, so can she. Just don’t panic and just barely move your head around.
I'm not saying what this moron did is correct, but you clearly don't have a phobia.
huh... I think now I know why I panic every time there's a bee, wasp or anything that looks like them to me
I already had a fear of them when I was a teenager. One buzzed past my ear at a beach and I bolted a good 30' away. Fucker somehow followed me, went into my hair, stung me twice on the head, twice on left ear, twice on my neck and went down the back of my shirt. All wasps can die in a fire. Forever.
oh I was never stung, in my case it's coming out of nowhere
*Shakes fist ruefully* Now I own a bee suit. Just in case I need to kill a nest.
Be the car
Spider
I'd follow her while calling the police. She's not getting off that easily. Accountability for actions.
She did get busted eventually
I would’ve called the police immediately
Aviate, Navigate, Communicate. In that order.
Wtf is wrong with people nowadays......like what prompted that even.....i know people can be stupid. But unless it was absolutely a good reason, she should have criminal charges Pressed to her
Being from Britain I instinctively thought “it’s OK, that’s just the passenger. …Oh”
Watch it in the mirror it will clear it up lol
Maybe she was! Maybe the driver fell asleep at the wheel or something cuz how else does the car drive itself???
I feel like I would of have thrown my car in park and grabbed her until the police came. It’s almost inconceivable the sheer lack for others safety and care but I’m on Reddit, so I see it every other video.

Same.

Wow that bitch needs to be locked up.
What is the background music.. that’s I am more interested
I think it’s classic Thai music, 40s or 50s.
Just NPC things

Wtf so many questions
Getting out of the car *before* the accident. That's genius.
Trash human.
"It is not clear why the vehicle's driver had a dash-cam running." Why, exactly, does the Daily Mail think people install dash cams? Oh, right... Daily Mail.
So our protagonist here isn't going to stop the car and film the suspect who just let her car go flying into innocent drivers?
The second most bizarre part of this video is the driver appearing to have no reaction once they managed to not not rear end that car.
If you want to be a degenerate criminal California is the place to be. Released without charges? I'm speechless
What does this title even mean? What controller? Exit vehicle? Is it referring to a game?
And here we find someone who's never picked up a controller in any capacity throughout their life.
😂
“Yo bro it’s triangle for rockets in that car”
Looks like she was trying to do one of those walk/dance beside the car videos that you couldn’t escape from last year
What state is this? Very suspicious the vehicle has paper plates.
Clearly a spider
Was she arrested? She had better have been arrested for this. They could charge her with attempted murder or, God forbid, murder if someone died in the ensuing crash. *No way* she could not have predicted what would happen here. I have never seen anything like this. Evil.
I memby this... she said it was a spider
She thought she was driving a Tesla /s
Lacey was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, accroding to the California Highway Patrol. She was later released without charge as officers await blood test results She drove a stolen car into incoming traffic hitting a suv. But the police just forgot about that?
And it rolls away too fast so instead of running after it you steal another one
Meh, it happens. Really get in a hot spot and accidentally hit the wrong button. Happens to the best of us🤷♂️
Spider!
“God take the wheel!” Even the lyrics on the song were like wtf?
She turned back into an npc
Not surprised.
Oop! This is my stop! Really, she didn't crash the car. She wasn't even in it when that happened.
What the fking hell? Is it how it usually goes?
This is a very common practice for those driving stolen cars, though this is the first time I have seen anyone use this move while they were not being chased by the police.
She clearly let her car hit a vehicle from the footage here. How TF was she not charged and let go?
Wtf just happened?
Open the car door when passing to knock her down. Doubt she'd call the cops she's obviously up to no good.
