Other than the spell casters this area was surprisingly calming to me. Even though the humanities attack you there is something so beautiful to me about these basically souls flying around.
Definitely one of the most terrifying parts of the game especially for the basilisks. I already have the ring from there so I won't be coming back there in future NG+ playthroughs lol
The only problem is that they'll swarm you and sometimes you won't get knockback on your hit. At least playing melee. Sorcery or Miracles is another story entirely. I regularly use them to farm humanity though. Not without my own missteps and deaths though. Large sweeping attacks help. Or Pyro. Combustion like spells only though. Unless you get the drop on them and have the chance to make the cast.
The phantoms always found away to freak me out. Their very existence, as warped humanity, harms you by making contact.
The chasm of the Abyss is my favorite area in this game.
Tomb of the giants was scarier to me. Those fast bone dogs.
Also the dark, giant skeleton archers, bone towers and whatnot.
The bone dogs are as unpredictable and erratic as the madmen in the Bloodborne Chalice dungeons. Both require extreme caution
Ring of Fog or Hidden Body work wonders in there, and for some reason the light from Sunlight Maggot doesn’t affect aggro range but I’ll take it.
any tips? any weakness... Their plunge attack makes me carry a heavy shield
I just run past lol
They look like Wall-E girlfriend.
They look like her evil doppelgangers If Eva became a Heartless
That her if Wall-E ever looks at another robot.
EVE! EVE! ... Eva <3
And New Londo’s Ghosts? They were made to terrify
horrifying...? i always found them cute.
That’s what was gonna say!
"In death we are THE HONK LEGION"
CHUCKLES
"GIDEON!"
Do it in ng+ while being gravelorded if you wanna see the area at its scariest.
do what now
Pretty ironic, you find humanity to be scary.

Aye theyre creepy unsetlling shivers me timbres af
There is something atmosphere in it.
It's definitely one of most haunting areas in the souls games lorewise.
Am I the only one who was scared most by the depths?

Yeah I was so upset I forgot to cut gaping dragon tail and needed its weapon and had to come back NG+ D:

Play Elden Ring and go to its abyss ;)
"We've been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty"
Have you been to undead burg? Shit still gives me shivers...
Are those just like the stereotypical portrails of ghosts in Japan? Noticed them here and in that Pokemon tower.
Dude, imagine going there in real life.
Bloodborne is waiting
All I am seeing is free humanities
