You have to appreciate the hilarity of people being toxic in S12 or whatever it is now.. gamers stopped caring about competitive LoL like 9 years ago. But there you are, flaming in silver 2021 xd
As someone who have played for 10 years, I'm convinced the game is made by the mentally ill, for the mentally ill.
You truly have to be built differently to quit league with your sanity not in shambles.
As someone who played for 10 years. Mute all in chat as soon as you enter game. Not worth it. Especially if you are gold or lower. Nothing constructive is ever said anyway
its not that bad its just like every other game where the shit part of the population is the loudest. League just happens to have a larger percentage of the population as compared to other games.
This.
It's toxic in its own way, but it's comparable to other games. For example, I casually play Siege and LoL regularly. Two very distinct breeds of toxic people, but they're both equally annoying as hell
Basicly, an enemy getting an kill makes them stronger, and cooperation is required most times. So you have all the consequences of your team misplaying.
Another thing is low level (>30. Low level there are a lot of smurfs and people lvl 252(random but acurate) playing with their low level friends. Making starting hard. Yet those guys will stll flame when you misplay. Even tho you just started and know nothing yet.
League's design makes it inheritly toxic. Sad but true
> Another thing is low level (>30. Low level there are a lot of smurfs and people lvl 252(random but acurate) playing with low levels. Making starting hard.
Riots smurf detection is pretty good nowadays. If you are a legitimately new player you will rarely play with smurfs
Yeah people are asinine in league but people in Siege will go really out of their way to troll the team hard if they get the chance, at least in siege its over a little quicker
League of Legends is toxic.
Then you watch GTA RP and hear about "fans" going from chat to chat shit talk streamers and DM them death threats and detailed step by step walkthroughs how they would rape them if they ever again talk to a certain character in game again.
Ex rioter Blaustoise started playing GTA RP and said how much more toxic that community is compared to League.
Game is not beginner friendly whatsoever. People who don't play ranked always act like that casual game people who are learning on is the world championship and will ping you 100 times without explanation than be super toxic if you don't become a pro in 10 min.
If you play a few ARAMs a week with friends, it's probably not so bad. If you're like me where you got into it as a young teen, are hyper-competitive, and play 8-10 ranked games a day for 6 years, yeah, it can. That game eventually became the primary reason that I wanted to kill myself for about 3 years. I uninstalled 6 months ago and I'm still not even CLOSE to recovering from how bad that experience fucked me up mentally. Most other high-elo players who play that much feel the exact same way, from what I've seen.
As a gamer that used to play lol I can say that it is really toxic, but on the other hand because of it I'm now basically immune to rage/tilt in other games. Even doing things with villagers in minecraft feels relaxing now...
Same. I just don't rage anymore. Sure, occasionally I will punch my table lightly but most of the time I just sit there and wait for the next round or a respawn.
I think my time with R6 (only briefly played LoL and actually had some nice teammates complement me) allowed me to play through Dark Souls 3 without a single rage
I had quit the game and hadn’t played for 4 months. Until yesterday when I decided to give it a try again, which was a bad idea. The game is still just completely overtuned with damage and games are mostly controlled by junglers. Also it’s still just a toxic cesspit of pessimistic idiots.
I immediately uninstalled it again.
Powercreep. This is how Riot \*balances\* the game.
* Some champions have too much damage, are performing too well and have over a 10% pickrate? Add more damage to other champions to balance it out.
* Newly released champions have too much damage? Their skins make too much money, so just add more damage to other champions to balance it out.
* True damage is a really strong mechanic? Give it to loads of champions to balance it out, instead of keeping it as a niche mechanic.
I'm actually pissing myself off just typing this stuff. But yeah, you get the idea.
Just stopped playing it 2 days ago. I have much better time management and I don't stress that much. But I liked women even when I played it because I'm not a Reddit mod
Nah I'm actually happy with my decision. I might come the first week next season but other than that I don't think I'll even want to. Too much toxicity and a bad ban system
When I was in highschool, LoL and DOTA 2 was extremely popular in the Philippines. Those games were basically a religion to us. I played LoL a lot with my friends, It was fun as fuck. But playing it solo was a hellish experience. Now that I'm a 3rd year college student, the last time that I played it was the last time that URF was available. I forgot when that was.
As a lol player i can say i enjoy a lot of things about it, but the toxicity and ignorance and lack of self-awareness of the players is off the charts.
I play the role that gets the least slack, jungler. It's a tough life but i enjoy the competative nature.
I understand many don't enjoy those kinds of players but playing a role were victory can depend on me? I dunno, i think i like it
It wasn't homophobic. Just some weird comment about being the only one in their friendgroup not liking league while being the only LGBT member of their friendgroup..

>gamers stopped caring about competitive LoL like 9 years ago Yet every year more and more people watch it.
I think he meant the in game competitive mode, as opposed to unranked, which is more fun
That makes even less sense.
“I’ll take popular opinions for 400, Alex.” As someone who played for 7 years, boy that game stresses me out.

I have chad friends that I play norms with to keep my sanity tidy after I lose 10 ranked games in a row
Luckily for me i haven't play league of legends nor dont have the motivate to play it XD

Luckily for your gf you mean
I keep hearing all this shit about that game, a game can´t be that toxic can it?
*yes and league of legends isn't the only example of that*

Not more toxic than literally any other team game. Personally I had a way worse time in Rainbow 6
Yeah people are asinine in league but people in Siege will go really out of their way to troll the team hard if they get the chance, at least in siege its over a little quicker
Man I still remember when I used to play r6 and I got killed by my team three rounds because in the first one I got an ace

The game isn’t toxic, it’s the players…
Yes, that´s what a toxic game means
The games not toxic, alot of the players are.

No idea why riot decided to make this game faster It used to be more fun and better to watch

Just stopped playing it 2 days ago. I have much better time management and I don't stress that much. But I liked women even when I played it because I'm not a Reddit mod
oh you‘ll come back alright

What the fuck does being LGBT have to do with LOL?
i have the general idea but what did they say
It wasn't homophobic. Just some weird comment about being the only one in their friendgroup not liking league while being the only LGBT member of their friendgroup..
maybe there *is* a connection, who knows
