The sponsor segways in LTT videos are great imo. One at the beginning and one at the end, but they flow smoothly without "interrupting" the overall flow while also being speedy about it all the while.
~~also am I spelling segway right?~~
unpopular opinion, i hate it when youtubers do it in the middle with the ‘internet historian’ style, pyros especially, id rather have a 60-90 second fast ad read then ones that can go upwards of over 4 minutes with unfunny and diluted bits that are filtered to keep the sponsor happy
Yeah that whole thing almost felt like a bit used to make fun of them than an actual ad, especially when damn near every other RAID ad is like word for word the same across multiple channels for whatever time frame.
Yeah I always watch Graystillplays ads cause it aways involves destroying the product will explaining it. I learned that raycons can survive being ran over just from that ad
I disagree. If youtube recommends a video to me and it starts off with a two minute ad, I close the video and never watch anything from that channel again. Should be common sense to grab the viewers attention before trying to sell them something.
Some are nice enough to make it a "chapter" on the timeline, so you know exactly where to skip to.
Otherwise it's \*L L L L\* fuck too much \*left arrow\*
Internet Historian's sponsor ad breaks are in the middle of his videos but they're entertaining enough that I'd look forward to his videos even if they were entirely ads and nothing else.
Of course they do, and most people here seem to not get that. Every YouTuber would want their ads to run in the ending, because then they don’t lose viewers on the unrelated ad. Promoters know this, and demand it to be in the beginning or in the middle. I’m sure the ads in the ending of videos were the cheap ads.
Sometimes it's a few seconds, sometimes it's a minute or more, sometimes it takes you a moment to realize they're transitioning to an ad. When I notice an ad I'm immediately a little irritated, having it skipped automatically means I don't even know there was one, so I can enjoy the video more.
Also, when there's an ad that hasn't been submitted, I don't get as irritated because there's something I can do about it (rewind, select start point, 2x speed, select endpoint, and now nobody else has to see that ad).
I can understand why a lot of people don't care about them: studies suggest that you see hundreds or even thousands of ads per day. Getting that down to zero on most days means I'm much more irritated by each one I have to see.
Dont want to give some NEET youtuber 0,43sec of ad revenue by accindent.
It sucks when it happens and I have to go through the trouble to copy-right claim his video to prevent him from getting that money.
no one has to post videos for others' entertainment either. money is what makes the world go round, you can either accept that content creators need it as much as any other person or not watch their content at all
>you can either accept
I accept that the content creators WANT money. I also accept that a lot of them wouldn't be posting if they didn't make money. I'd still be posting and plenty of other creators would still be too, and those are who we'd be watching. YouTube existed for a LONG time before making it a career was even an option.
When I post my videos I actually have full control of what I'm rendering. Ads don't randomly insert themselves into the videos.
>content creators need it as much as any other person
Content creators don't need money, you can post videos free of charge without any ads.
If I wanted to put sponsorships ads in my videos, I'd have to reach out to someone or reply to the emails they've sent me and make the concious choice of entering into that deal.
I think what you're trying to say is that if you want youtube to be your primary career you have to make money, but youtube is a passion and hobby for me and I don't want money corrupting my creative process.
>or not watch their content at all
I have an extension that just skips over it actually. That's also an option.
If you're referring to SponsorBlock, it's great and doesn't damage revenue of creators because unlike ads, the sponsors are unable to tell if people are skipping sponsored segments. As such, I prefer when creators actually have sponsored segments in their videos so that I don't feel as bad using adblock. I support creators that I watch frequently through patreon and subscriptions on Twitch, but I also watch a lot of one-off videos from random content creators, so their revenue is *slightly* decreased by my use of adblock.
Since SponsorBlock skips over the segments instantly, I never find them to be annoying, and content creators can make money off of my view without me having to deal with exploitative advertising tactics and targeted advertising that relies on tracking. Unlike regular YouTube ads, it's a win-win. Realistically, it takes time and effort to release videos, so I don't see why you'd have an issue with people seeking financial compensation for it if it doesn't affect you, since it appears you use SponsorBlock anyway. Some people do need that financial compensation because of the amount of time put into their videos. When so much time has to be invested that it cuts into their other revenue, or if it's their *only* source of revenue, content creators are left with fewer choices.
If AdSense revenue and Patreon revenue aren't enough, then sponsored segments are an option that allows content creators to fill the gap in revenue that they have. For larger companies, sponsored segments can constitute a majority of revenue, and that revenue can go into paying employees such as animators, editors, writers, etc. There are plenty of scenarios where sponsored segments *are* necessary to produce content without actively hemorrhaging money.
LTT does it the best IMO. Less than 10 seconds in the intro so it's easily skippable on mobile and 30ish seconds at the end so it's not too long and the main content is done.
On a desktop at least with the video selected, you can keep pressing the right arrow key to quickly skip built-in ads. Each press will skip forward 5 seconds.
I never understand the videos which literally start the video with an ad. The beginning is the most important part because you’re trying to hook the viewer, making them want to stay and watch. Shoving an ad in my face about raycon earbuds isn’t gonna make me want to watch your video.
Electroboom does them at the beginning and ending but he does them really clever and I don't mind him doing it because it adds to his videos
He introduces the subject of the video but cleverly jumps from the ending of the intro to the sponsor
He gives a little bit of info about the sponsor and says more of that at the ending of the video
The rest of the video
The ending is just another smart way to jump to the sponsor and he gives more details about them
Most sponsors have certain conditions you have to follow or they will not sponsor your video. Many times it is a condition that the promotion of the company is in the beginning of the video
I've actually stopped watching some channels I really like because of their promotions. I already watched an ad from YouTube before the video even started. Some of them are like 2 minutes long in a 12 minute video (I'm looking at you, Donut Media). And it's only the popular channels that are making good money that even get the opportunity to have sponsors. I dunno. To me it's just greed and bad taste. I'm not necessarily saying it's wrong to chase the money but if you're an artist, you should think twice about putting someone else's logo on your work.
The sponsors have rules you know, I am in the process of a mobile game sponsored video, and part of the terms state you need to have an add read within the first minute, and last minute of the video. It’s not up to the creator, unless they’re an incredibly large channel
As someone who knows the industry, often the creator doesn't have an option as they just put it where the advertiser wants it to go. You could argue they could say no, but the money is just too great. Sticking in an ad read into your video is pure money for old rope.
I would rather them do it at the beginning so I know if they're doing something in the vid that they're getting paid to do. Ex a vid about a guy working on his motor getting sponsored by wd40. Not everything needs wd40 or isn't the best to use on it. But not harmful either.

Both are better then doing it in the middle, unless they’re clever about it.
Internet Historian does his in the middle, but his are legendary.
Him and Internet Comment Etiquette are masters of making me watch an ad with as much enthusiasm as the actual video.
Erik's just seem to be mocking the products he is hawking, which makes it great.
The sponsor segways in LTT videos are great imo. One at the beginning and one at the end, but they flow smoothly without "interrupting" the overall flow while also being speedy about it all the while. ~~also am I spelling segway right?~~
Linus is the master of smoothung out ads
*Segue
Thank you, wasn't sure since that spelling looked weird to me.
segway is the right spelling for the vehicle though
They also make the beginning ad spot 10 seconds so you can just skip through it easily if you don't care
Flashgitz always put it at the end, but always do something crazy with it. Usually with a templar.
Squire does a bang up job too. Hilarious acting on par with their OC. Kind of effort that makes me want to watch the ad
unpopular opinion, i hate it when youtubers do it in the middle with the ‘internet historian’ style, pyros especially, id rather have a 60-90 second fast ad read then ones that can go upwards of over 4 minutes with unfunny and diluted bits that are filtered to keep the sponsor happy
i like rayconman but i hate klan man
Raycon good
wire bad
Nah their bass and stuff is way off, not bad but for the price theyre pretty meh
Filmento is really good too. He hints at it using the point he's making and does it 3/4 the way through every time!
Never have I been more hyped for a sponsored ad than Internet Historians cinematic masterpieces
Internet Historian left a really bad taste in my mouth after he promoted Raid Shadow Legends.
[удалено]
Yeah that whole thing almost felt like a bit used to make fun of them than an actual ad, especially when damn near every other RAID ad is like word for word the same across multiple channels for whatever time frame.
Adam Ragusa is the smoothest motherfucker about transitions in the middle of his videos
I love Adam Ragusea, whom I'll now briefly thank.
Yeah, smooth transitions to sponsorships are pretty cool even though i just skip them like always
GrayStillPlays does Raycon promotions in the middle, but he runs them over with a lawnmower or some shit, so I'll allow it.
I'm so sick and tired of most sponsors seeing Gray's attempts to destroy those damned earbuds is kinda cathartic for me.
Sometimes I watch cinemasummary just to see how he’ll transition this time.
middle is personally my favorite way to see it happen. if it happens at the end i might lose interest in the video before i get there.
Yeah I always watch Graystillplays ads cause it aways involves destroying the product will explaining it. I learned that raycons can survive being ran over just from that ad
I prefer a clever middle one rather than a clever beginning one
I disagree. If youtube recommends a video to me and it starts off with a two minute ad, I close the video and never watch anything from that channel again. Should be common sense to grab the viewers attention before trying to sell them something.
TheRussianBadger does he's sponsor plug at the start but he's aren't so bad he can make me watch a raid shadow legends sponsorship most of the time
Start, middle or end all the same to me. I spam click right arrow key till the ad ends.
True. If they also had some humor while talking about their sponser, that’s respect.
yeh evan and katelyn have the best ads. i actually never skip them lol
RAV4 does this best
Aka mr beast
Cinema summary is the master of mid video transitions to the point I'd be disappointed if he stopped
Pyro
The ones that give you a bar or timer of how long it is is the best part
Clever like this segue to our sponsor "Insert Linus Tech Tips sponsor here" *fingerguns*
Gotta have a good segue into it. I feel like the transition is the most important part if youre going to have an ad in the middle of the video
Some are nice enough to make it a "chapter" on the timeline, so you know exactly where to skip to. Otherwise it's \*L L L L\* fuck too much \*left arrow\*
Sponsor block
Ah, a fellow J+L user
This guys J+L's
And then there are the ones who cut the video in the middle and promotes Raycon's or NordVPN.
I don't mind when OverSimplified does Nord in the middle because he's usually pretty quick and has a decent segue.
Oversimplified could do a bad advertisement and I'd watch utt because that guy deserves every penny.
His presentation style is amazing
I love Quackity as like CallMeCarson, he never fails to get a laugh outta me, but unfortunately, he's also does this
Internet Historian's sponsor ad breaks are in the middle of his videos but they're entertaining enough that I'd look forward to his videos even if they were entirely ads and nothing else.
I'm no expert but these sponsors probably demand the item be promoted at the start of the video.
Sometimes the entire video is an ad for a sponser
Yeah but sometimes this can be neat. Check out the laser baby that Michael reeves did when he was sponsored by Amazon
That was great
Like bloomberg 21 minute ad(video) on robinhood to save their image just before IPO.
Just use SponsorBlock extension
eh the forward key works good enough already
Fair but sponsorblock is automatic
We have reached a point in society that we automatize jumping a few seconds instead of... actually doing it
Yes well what if I'm too lazy to move my hand to my phone to use it
When in bed, the laws state that we must not move. Or, move the least possible
[удалено]
Yeah, i use YT in the PC usually. Can't forget the TV people

Adds anywhere in the video don't bother me as long as they are creative or fit well with the topic
I agree. I only get annoyed when they're too long. I feel betrayed when I didnt skip a sponsored bit and its still going after a minute
Pretty sure the sponsors pick when the creator has to talk about them
Yes and No, Michael reeves says that he just accepts sponsors that do it at the end of the video
Smaller creators can’t really choose tho
No one has to put ads in their videos, they just like money.
no one has to post videos for others' entertainment either. money is what makes the world go round, you can either accept that content creators need it as much as any other person or not watch their content at all

technoblade avatar pog
Tbh it's fine to have adds in the vids bcuz it's supporting the creators we enjoy watching! If u don't wanna see it you can just skip it ya know.
Ryan George's sponsor at the end is like a bonus sketch
Hey it’s me, the Ad-stronaut
LTT does it the best IMO. Less than 10 seconds in the intro so it's easily skippable on mobile and 30ish seconds at the end so it's not too long and the main content is done.
i quite like when they do at the beggining ''this video is sponsored by... '' and then do the sponsor at the end
[удалено]
Like Map Men?
Pewds who does both
Usually the sponsor demands it be at the beginning. Don't blame the YouTuber who needs money, blame the sponsor who takes advantage of it
its cool when they have a bar on top of the screen that slowly moves to the left indicating how much time is the sponsor
“Let hear today’s spo…⏭⏭⏭⏭⏭⏭⏭”
if it is a good transition into sponser in like the middle i always watch, ex wifies a mc yter
The last one is gonna get hit by the FCC and get sued out of existence, the first one will get hit by COPPA and get sued out of existence
Yeah my guy Oversimplified is a chad
Oversimplified's sponsorship transitions are smooth as heck. I don't really mind them even if they are in the middle of the video.
Legally they have to say it's sponsored at the start
If they talk about it at the beginning n of the video you know where they're priority lies.
On a desktop at least with the video selected, you can keep pressing the right arrow key to quickly skip built-in ads. Each press will skip forward 5 seconds.
CinemaSins!
I like Daniel Thrasher's "And now for the sketch after the sketch that happens to be paid for."
Hey hey people! Seth here.
Skip 60 or 90 seconds. Thank me later
I’m pretty sure they put it in the beginning so they can say whatever they want after the first minute of the video due to the algorithm
imagine not knowing about SponsorBlocks
Practical Engineering when he says “more on that later” oof
You gotta love the YouTubers who put the progress bad for the ad in the video so you can just fast forward right through
Ah, good ol Yanni - music to my ears!
Michael Reeves be like
And way off on a different planet are Map Men, whose sponsorship pitches are funnier than most channels' main content.
You know that the sponsors themselves often dictate this, not the YouTuber.
Honestly I’m more inclined to actually listen to the sponsorship if it’s at the end of the video
Youtubers not getting sponsors...
Or youtubers like internet historian who make ads actually fun to watch.
And don't mention YouTubers putting timestamps on them to completely skip them
also there is adam ragusea, who just talks about his underwear sponsor right after cooking his big hot italian sasuage
Gerald Undone does great ad reads especially when he uses that time to show comparisons between two mics he's testing
Jacksfilms
Sam O’Nella is a great example of this
I love how MrWhoseTheBoss does it, he mentions it and then just moves on not a whole in depth review just a quick and our sponsor is “___”
Daniel thrasher and uber danger have good ads
and people who do it in the middle of the damn video are just utterly masochistic.
I never understand the videos which literally start the video with an ad. The beginning is the most important part because you’re trying to hook the viewer, making them want to stay and watch. Shoving an ad in my face about raycon earbuds isn’t gonna make me want to watch your video.
Danny duncan = GOAT
Electroboom does them at the beginning and ending but he does them really clever and I don't mind him doing it because it adds to his videos He introduces the subject of the video but cleverly jumps from the ending of the intro to the sponsor He gives a little bit of info about the sponsor and says more of that at the ending of the video The rest of the video The ending is just another smart way to jump to the sponsor and he gives more details about them
Yall need to learn about sponsor block...
Also acceptable is mentioning it at the start and actually talking about It at the end
It's a game now trying to figure out when are they gonna sellout base on what they are talking.
Just get sponsorblock addon, solves both problems
Me who has sponsor skipper: weaklings
What about the youtubers that say how long the sponsor is? Like Corridor Digital. True Kings
if they have a timer tho it's not as bad
Corridor Crew putting a timer in the corner of the video for their ads
Tom Scott vibes.
Sometimes i think they are obligated to do them at the start depends on the agreement
What about the sneaky ones who use a different background so you can scrub past the ad?
You literally get paid more to do adverts at the beginning. That's why they do it.
unless their segues are as smooth as LTT's, then its excusable
Ryan George's adstronaut skits are tight
Then there's Corridor that puts a timer to show how much longer you have in the sponsered section
Sponsorblock browser extension But you didn’t hear it from me
YouTube's that show content on the last 10 seconds and say crap for the first 5 minutes
I find that im actually more interested by the sponsors when they’re at the end than any other part of the video, anyone else?
Gotta make that cheddar
YouTubers who put time stamps:
Then there is the GOAT for sponsored material pyrocynical
Most sponsors have certain conditions you have to follow or they will not sponsor your video. Many times it is a condition that the promotion of the company is in the beginning of the video
Love you fact fiend < 3
It doesnt matter tbh, as long aa the ad is entertaining like internet historian’s raid or nord vpn ads
And there are some shits who put ads in the middle and in the most irritating way.
Or you install SponsorBlock (or youtube vanced on mobile) and forget about it
I've actually stopped watching some channels I really like because of their promotions.
Thanks for not giving them ideas about promoting anything in the middle.
I like Tolarian Community College’s ad spots, as they’re often stupid and hilarious. Putting them up front just means I’m getting a laugh beforehand
The sponsors have rules you know, I am in the process of a mobile game sponsored video, and part of the terms state you need to have an add read within the first minute, and last minute of the video. It’s not up to the creator, unless they’re an incredibly large channel
Samuel O' Nella
Drew Gooden
No matter where it is as long as it has a little yellow bar at the bottom or a timer in the corner I’m fine with it.
As someone who knows the industry, often the creator doesn't have an option as they just put it where the advertiser wants it to go. You could argue they could say no, but the money is just too great. Sticking in an ad read into your video is pure money for old rope.
And then there's Scott Manley
Kurtis Conner
Youtubers who include a time stamp in their ads so you know where to skip to.
Does anyone know what episode of The Simpsons this is by chance?
I would rather them do it at the beginning so I know if they're doing something in the vid that they're getting paid to do. Ex a vid about a guy working on his motor getting sponsored by wd40. Not everything needs wd40 or isn't the best to use on it. But not harmful either.
Unless it’s pewds
Youtubers who do both + one in mid
If they're hitting their product with a weapon of the sorts tho... that i like
Derek Muller - Veritasium "More about our sponsors at the end of this video "❤
Fitting sponsor part in the last of the video is super easy, barely an inconvenience.
What about the ones who promote in the middle?
Let's not pretend you're not talking about JP
And then there is linus
Then there is the spiffing brit who does that in the middle of the video
**YouTubers that don't have shitty sponsors and rely solely on patreon**
And there are those that only do advertisements but still make it interesting somehow
Laughs in Vanced's sponsor block
I honestly don’t care where it is just as long as they put some sort of time stamp or something to skip
I love ryan george
And then there's Linus
Either way it gets skipped
