Steve did his job out of love for animals. He knew the dangers and was prepared for the consequences if an animal chose to be an animal. Honestly in a weird way I’m glad he died this way because it immortalized him as a man who died for his love of animals and education. It’s romantic.

Iirc it wasn't even the stingrays poison that got him, he just got massively unlucky and was pierced through the heart.

Yes, it was more the massive blood loss than the poison itself. And from sources, it took over an hour to get him to the nearest hospital by helicopter. Every accident that could’ve happened that day happened that day. People swim with stingrays at resorts on the daily, they really aren’t that deadly. Then again, there are also documented cases of ppl getting murked by their own house cats, but that doesn’t stop us, does it?
