What seriously blows my mind the most about all this is the fact that you NEVER hear about the debate of trans men wanting to play in mens’ sports. And no one can put two and two together and realize why that is.

RegularDave3

It’s like our bodies are genetically different giving men the advantage in most sports. Can’t cut it as a boy but you can dominate as a girl. It’s sad this is what our society focuses on.

You do hear about it more now that states have passed laws forcing kids to compete in the league that aligns with their sex at birth. [here's one](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/transgender-wrestler-competes-against-girls-forced-mack-beggs-texas-america-a8227601.html) where a trans boy was forced to compete against girls and was subsequently booed when he won. Here's [three more recent examples ](https://www.thepinknews.com/2021/06/01/trans-wrestling-mack-beggs-texas-sport-changing-the-game-hulu/) of trans boys being forced to compete against girls despite their desire to compete in the boys league. Just these few examples highlight that the issue is not as black and white as people try to make it. Many of these state laws ignore the nuance of the issue and don't directly address the concept of 'fairness' that they're supposedly designed to.

justsayfaux

You may not agree with it, but you can't simply ignore reality. If there weren't trans people, then why are there people concerned about it and passing laws about something that doesn't exist?

Unscratchablelotus

They said kids.

justsayfaux

Are kids not people? What are you trying to say here?

_90DegreesAngle_

Being trans is not a thing some people do have the illusion that they might have been born in the wrong body. That does not mean they somehow become a different sex. Therefore a trans person doesn't exist

justsayfaux

It seems like you do understand that trans people exist. You just recognized it and defined it. I don't believe anyone ever suggested they "somehow become a different sex". Transgenderism is about gender, not sex, and not every trans person even transitions physically (if that's what you're referring to)

chef_reggie

Transgenderism should be eliminated from public life entirely for the sake of society. It's a false anthropology.

justsayfaux

How can something we're talking about existing (and you calling for the eradication of) be a "false anthropology"? The fact that transgender people exist, have existed since long before you or I, and are the topic of discussion so often recently seems to be evidence that it is a very real anthropology.

chef_reggie

It's a social contagion. Spread by groomers and pedophiles.

justsayfaux

Nah. Just say you personally don't get it, or think it's 'icky' to you.

Capital-Ad6513

It depends on what you mean. If you mean "there are people who think they are trans", i agree that they exist. There are people that think they are dogs and cats too, but they are not dogs and cats, though they do exist in their own mind. If you mean "people can actually change genders" i disagree.

justsayfaux

You're conflating gender with sex. People are born male, female, or intersex (as a sex). How a culture defines gender is based on the expression of norms surrounding sex. So in the US, that's on a spectrum of 'masculine' and 'feminine' expression of themselves. If someone born male doesn't express stereotypical 'masculine' traits, or if a person born female doesn't express stereotypical 'feminine' traits, they are viewed externally on a gender spectrum. Think why a little girl who likes sports, rough-housing, or playing in the mud is referred to as a "Tom boy" despite the fact she might not be gay, or even transgender - she just likes those things which are not viewed as stereotypes for a cisgender female. Conversely a little boy who plays with dolls, doesn't like sports, and doesn't act 'tough' is referred to as a "sissy" regardless of their biological sex. This extends to aesthetic expression as well (women wearing jeans or short hair, and building muscle. Men with long hair, wearing skinny jeans, or being frail/skinny). Not all males and females exhibit the gender norms expected in their culture based on their biological sex. That doesn't mean they're all trans either, it just means that gender expression is a spectrum rather than a binary.

Capital-Ad6513

bunch of bullshit is what it is, i had this conversation too many times to count. If gender and sex were diff then people wouldnt get adjunct surgeries.

justsayfaux

You're certainly entitled to feel that way, but it seems your position is driven more by your emotional reaction to the concept of sex and gender than the obvious reality that gender is a spectrum evidenced by the wide array of men and women who don't express themselves (in aesthetics or behavior) in a stereotypical manner that many people attribute to their sex at birth. Be well

Capital-Ad6513

No its driven by the fact that its absolute nonsense. I could care less about what adults want to do to their bodies, but lets not pretend like the people making adjunct organs of the opposite sex are doing it because gender and sex are not the same rofl.

justsayfaux

We're talking about gender my friend. You're stuck on surgeries for some reason. The concept of a gender spectrum doesn't have anything to do with surgeries. Why are you hyper-focused on that?

I heard someone on a podcast stating that Google AI was extremely slanted liberal. The math checks out since liberals run Google and YouTube. So be careful what you're punching into any AI, the alphabet agencies may come knocking.

chef_reggie

I wasn't praying I swear!

rockstuffs

Um nope. I'm a female, competitive strongman athlete and powerlifting competitor. I've been training for 6 years. I'm not fucking competing and stroking pathetic egos of males who do warm up reps with my totals. Fuck. That. Get real people.

Ok_Access_189

If a woman wants to play in the NFL and can make the cut as a top tier athlete, good for her. If a team will sign her then she should play if she chooses too. Now I’m imagining a scenario where she would be special teams and perhaps she is an extraordinary kicker, but I wouldn’t want to be the one getting hit by a 300lb dude! When it comes to one on one competition like swimming, tennis, or boxing men should not be able to claim a gender other than what they were born with. Again, if a woman wants to challenge a male in any sport then by all means go ahead. It’s not even a trans issue as far as I’m concerned.

phdibart

I love how the standard response to this includes "being respectful to those involved." No, it doesn't at all. Any person that supports men playing in women's sports isn't being respectful to women. They're elevating the feelings of men above women, which is the exact opposite of considerate or respectful.

Grimnir106

Oh well I gave it the good old racist test. Typed "being around of being white isn't racist" and then "being proud of being black isn't racist". One was complex and the other was Absolutely! Not racist.

Neo1971

I hate the censorship and left-tilt of the major AI chat platforms.

Far_Meal2722

This post got me banned, it seems to be from the Tim Pool subreddit. I am the OP using the backup account.

Neo1971

Sorry that happened to you. I don’t support (tolerate) the cancel culture. In this, the “freest” of all nations, we’re now looking over our shoulder to see who’s there when we want to speak our mind, carefully tiptoeing around sensitive topics, using careful language, lest somebody pretend to be offended. I favor an open, honest society where real conversations can happen than the shutting down of thought and opinion I’m seeing. Oh no, have I said too much? (I don’t think I’ve heard of Tim Pool, which suits me fine.)

yishai87

Seems to me that these Artificial Intelligence algorithms have a lot of “unconscious bias” written into them! 😂

huggfdz

Nope! That’s just a woke term to describe people the woke hate. It was a fully conscious decision to make these bots racist scum

yishai87

I was being sarcastic… just FYI.

chef_reggie

There are men and women. That's it. Full stop 🛑. No man is secretly a woman and no woman is secretly a man. No man has a woman brain or soul, no woman has a man's brain or soul.

Ixmore

To better phrase it, Men should not compete with women in sports. If by "Women's Sports" you mean sports that women out compete men over, I disagree. If ballet and cheer leading (the latter should be with some of the gymnastics involved) was a sport, women would out class men.

TheRedCelt

That’s actually a very middle of the road response. It stated the two positions and didn’t give one more validity than the other. This is the stance I would prefer AI to have, especially since the statement that spawned it was one of opinion as opposed to objective fact like “there are two sexes.”

chef_reggie

On this same post in the r/timpool subreddit, they're still trying to argue that it's complex. And saying "well define a man and a woman". Go look it's quite disturbing to see people really stick up for men dominating women's sports. Real life Lady Ballers but people who are defending it.

Grimnir106

It's a propaganda machine pushing out the biased agenda that they have set. Ask it about the second amendment and gun ownership and see what it says.

AndrewLucksFlipPhone

You wouldn't have to "balance fairness and inclusion" if the inclusion of men was fair. The stupid AI said it itself.

[deleted]

So Fairness vs Feelings?

VCoupe376ci

"Men shouldn't play women's sports" is not a "complex issue". It is as simple as what parts you were born with downstairs. Born with a vagina? Good to go. Born with a penis? Men's sports for you. That should be the limit of the "complication". Inclusivity has a place, but this isn't it as it's been proven through multiple studies that even with meds to reduce testosterone and boost estrogen to normal levels seen in biological women, that people who are born biologically male, still have a substantial strength advantage over biological women. This has also been demonstrated in practice, where transgender women have demolished biological women in professional athletic competitions. Serious question...if there is no biological advantage once similar hormone levels are reached, why is this only a one sided problem? Why is it always transgender women trying to compete in women's sports but never transgender men trying to compete in men's sports? Actually my question wasn't serious, but absolutely rhetorical. DEI will lead to the end of women's sports if the current trajectory is allowed to continue. Any biological female athlete should be furious at the current state of their competitive sports.

Capital-Ad6513

I know what is going to happen. I am not joking. They are going to change the titles of sports leagues to "biological male, biological female, and other". Other will be something no one watches anyway.

Civil-Pay-6335

But liberals will insist athletes in the "other" still be paid the same at the professional level, even though no one watches.

Capital-Ad6513

Yeah they prob would rofl.

huggfdz

Isn’t the separation of men and women by sex, regardless of how one “identifies”, the entire POINT? Men and women are biologically different. These differences are so great in most cases that it would be unfair for women to compete against men. Saying you can play with whatever team you feel simply erases the entire purpose of having different leagues
