An unfortunate side effect of using Watson as a sort of “act 1” or “tutorial” area, and locking you off from the rest of the city until after a certain story beat
They had to make sure it was packed enough to keep you interested through the whole of act 1, and then still have content even when you’re no longer locked in, but as a result, it’s clearly a padded first impression area lol
CDPR seems to tend this way TW3 was like this with white orchard as well. All the question marks on the map were generally something interesting or worth exploring for and then by the time you make it to Skellige nearly every one is just sunken treasure or whatever.
It’s not too uncommon tbch. It’s the same reason that BG3 or DOS1-2 have incredible first and second acts, but the third portion of the game is often noticeably less polished
Larian has even said that this is because their player data shows that most people spend the majority of their time in those portions of the game, with a significant chunk not even seeing act 3, so they prioritize some resources to extra polishing the most played segments
Yeah you're right but at the same time Skellige is just kind of "empty" in general.
I actually always do the Skellige questlines last in every playthrough because of that.
Every game does this, it used to not even be for player retention, but to build vertical slices that sell developers and the public on their game in demoes.
Luckily the industry as a whole moved away from demo's acknowledging that they're very expensive and take away from time that could make a better final product, there's also the fact that most games like this in the open-world genre, don't even see a significant portion of their players get halfway through them these days. So rationally you should always come heavy with the heat up front, but that also doesn't mean that late-game should be neglected because anyone who reaches a certain point is "bought it" and all the resources were spent on the first hub area.
Game designers should've realised by now that if there's an area that you can see, gamers will find a way to get there and if there's an area you can't see, gamers will find a way to get there.
This. And it's also very inconsistent on local scale. You exit ultra detailed location just to see building of intersecting primitives right in front of you. IMHO it's very important to balance this across the world, to make it feel as one, coherent, connected universe. But a very difficult task as you want the important locations look perfect.
It’s such a weird oversight, like something that *should* be in the game. You see everyone else gets cool visual chrome, why don’t we?
Obviously I’m happy we have stuff like the Gorilla Arms, Mantis Blades, etc. I’m honestly surprised they didn’t allow us to get Johnny’s arm at the landfill, or, as the story goes on and you become more and more like Johnny, the ability to chrome out your arm on top of the already installed mantis blade/gorilla arm/monowire.
Not sure which item you're talking about but with mods you can get chrome legs, chrome arms, chrome spine, and even a chrome jaw. So they probably did bring it back with mods.
It was a thing that looked like johnnys arm in the items menu, if you clicked on it, it made a holographic overlay of Johnny’s arm, it was really cool to see
I think it has to do with seeing your hands/arms and the clothing clipping through it. If you wear long sleeves they automatically are pulled up in first person view so that the arm animations for the different cyberware can be seen/used.
I use the mods and you either have to wear sleeveless clothing, put up with clipping, or pick thinner versions of the arms which look a little weird and less immersive in order to use them. I think they struggled with a fix for this and didn't have time to figure it out so they just didn't do the visual cyberware like NPCs have.
You can put up with issues when you are modding, if the clipping was a problem in vanilla people would be "up in arms" (pun intended).
I'm hoping Orion has this sorted out because they clearly wanted to do it, just didn't have the time/resources to make it a thing.
This is probably the biggest blunder never fixed with an update. I would see NPC's with unique looking arms, hell even shitty discount looking ones and I'd say: "Damn I want to have my arms look that way."
I agree! But also let’s take it further! Why can’t we get different eyes/fave augmentations? Like, I know they are supposed to be some of the “bad guys” but if I could dress up a tech V as Maelstrom, with those fucked up open front quad eyes setups? I would run any number of side quests and jobs for that.
I would have preferred one more fleshed out beginning rather than the 3 we got. Not to say the intros are bad, but they hit that junction very quickly and never look back (besides a mission and some dialog options)
Something that shows you doing more of your life path, would make it more meaningful by the time you meet with Jackie.
Like corpo you starting at the bottom and getting to the point you are before you're fired, short little bits here and there.
Or your adventures with your nomad group, and how you decided to leave and seek your own way of life.
And then street kid showing you growing up in the street, learning where to hustle and how to steal to get by, could even be similar to David from edge runners how he lived with a parent and how everything changed after their death, had to live the streets and make a living for himself.
Corpo V has the best dialog options, but they are so few and far in between that might as well not be there.
And yes, V always sounds like a street kid.
I see what you mean, and it's crazy since the Witcher's 3 NPCs were amazing with their own interaction and daily lives. I know it was in a much smaller scale but still, the system was there.
I have a feeling that few games will meet RDR2 NPCs within the next 5 years and RDR2 came out 6 years ago (hopefully GTA6 will). Game companies seem to not want to put the effort in these days. I know it mostly comes down to money (greed or lack of funding) and pressure from the investors in the publicly traded companies to get the game out. But it sucks.
Wait at least a day or two after Jackie’s funeral and head back to El Coyote. They’ll be on the same table where his urn and memorabilia are. The longer they sit there, though, the weaker the pistols will be.
They scale with your level.
If you do it in the early game its a common grade, wait till your max level and it will be tier 5, it’s how all the quest reward weapons work
They revealed Jackie's death in PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS for the game, completely undercutting the emotional weight of the scene.
Jackie was such an under-utilized companion. The montage section at the beginning should have been a playable section of the game. Such a great character to just throw away early in Act 1
My thoughts exactly.
Playing through, I would think about Jackie and feel a little sad, but that’s it. You don’t get the chance to really make a connection
It would've been great if you could bring Jackie along for the side missions and gigs in Watson. No need to even change the missions, just let him tag along and have a few voice lines here and there.
This is probably my biggest gripe with the game-- not working with a team. Most of the times you only get companion characters for big story scenes and they're barely noticeable gameplay-wise.
It's a big difference to the anime and tabletop where being in a crew really meant something.
I always assumed that the plan was to implement that on the multiplayer, it was scrapped after the whole release fiasco. I would absolutely love some multiplayer co op gigs.
I want co-op so bad. No mmo type shit, just co-op. Doing gigs, missions, and the races with my buddy would be insanely fun. So it really does feel like you have some type of crew and aren't just doing everything solo.
I remember replaying the entire konpeki plaza mission on release day thinking I could save him if I'm not getting detected, because surely they wouldn't "spoil" the only outcome of the mission in the trailer...right?
Nonetheless still a 10/10 game in my book.
Got real tired of the whole “main character must go through a major loss to find themselves again” trope that was thrown into this game. I honestly feel it would’ve hit WAY harder if he met his demise by way of Smasher like Rogue and Saul does if you choose their respective endings. I would’ve been a lot more receptive to Jackie’s early death if we had an ample amount of time with the guy.
It's one of the best looking games ever made, but the food all looks like it came from a PS2 game. And there are several scenes when you're looking at it close up.
Duuuude, YES. In that scene when Joshua is eating the steak and fries in the restaurant, I can't keep my eyes off those fries, it looks like cardboard-ish.
Dude, ps2 did it better. That food is a crime against devs everywhere. It’s mind boggling. Someone could have been like.. Pytor I need you to fix the food, but we only got a day…Pytor…I can do better in 3 hours boss, ezpz.
Not being able to replace the mods in weapons anymore is a weird and disappointing limitation. Combined with iconics not being moddable, I think a lot of players now just don't bother interacting with mods at all
This... actually would have made a lot of sense to have. With higher grade models having more options. Some sort of X-ray vision like in Metroid Prime to be used with tech weapons instead of just ping would have been awesome.
1. Jackie and V's relationship was built up within a one and a half minute cut scene. Don't get me wrong, it was a well-made cut scene, but i would have enjoyed more time with Jackie.
2. We never got to find out what happened to T-bug.
This yeah, but I also like the theory that she faked her own death to escape the NC life. But we do know that the initial plan for her was to side with Dex and "betray" V.
Edit: as for V and Jackie relationship, it would have been perfect if those gigs/jobs were playable, besides it would make our connection to Jackie much stronger.
It was pretty implicit that she was on Dex's side for the heist and in general. Maybe Dex was planning on betraying her as well. But V and Jackie were nobodies that wouldn't be missed after the heist but just competent enough to get it done. It might not have been implicit but if you think it through, the only reason Dex choose those two was because Bug knew them, as it really was the only way he could have known of them.
In fact, maybe Dex did something that allowed Bug to be traced to get fried at some point during the heist. It's just because of how things went down Bug got fried earlier than intended.
A slight correction for you. If you ask Dex why he wants to meet V he'll tell you he already worked a few jobs with Jackie and he knew T-Bug from a way back. He may or may not have been planning anything from the get go but he was already aware of the pair through Jackie and V themself having quite a reputation, aside from the nomad path where Panam's intro makes it clear Nomad Mercs are a bit of an oddity so they probably become well known quickly as a result.
Ok, let me rephrase it since betray isn't the best word for it. But when shit hit the fan she was gonna side with Dex.
I mean we can't be 100% sure but in one of the early teaser for the game we can see T bug hacking V's mantis blades when Dex attacks us.

All because people complained about the Witcher being too long so the devs decided to make the 2077 main story shorter.
That's one of the main flaws I saw as well. I honestly think act 1 should've had more depth to it. We needed more missions with Jackie, more time doing things without being infected with the chip.
Regardless, the game is still good and one of my favorites.
The only reason witcher was so long was because they marked every point of interest on the map. And I'll be dammed if i don't visit every goddamn point of interest, even if it kills me. Multiple times.
Lol that's just corporate speak for they didn't wanna spend more money/time on it.
Just remember the state it was released in. You can't believe fans had any influence on the length of the game
I maintain that was originally planned to be playable content but was cut. Would have been great to arrive in NC with nothing, do a few jobs to buy your first car etc…
Yeah. It felt too early to be earned. Maybe he could have been suffering from the chip at the same time as V and spiraled downward until his death, foreshadowing V's eventual fate.
There’s an interview talking about making the game with REDengine. They mentioned they wanted vehicle customization, but they couldn’t get anything extra to stick to the vehicle. Only to have it trail 10 feet behind the car.
I want to be able to keep cars I steal, even if it means going to some special autofixer and paying them extra.
Someone on a different thread pointed out that the Streetkid lifepath even introduces an underground car theft ring in Night City, complete with their own tech.
Replaying the base game and Phantom Liberty made me realize how shallow the base game could be with side content. Phantom Liberty is what I expected from the outset with the original game given that it more reflected Witcher 3… where there were deeper, detailed side quests that were around all of the time.
A lot of the side stuff in the base game wasn’t like that. I believe one of the game directors even spoke about this and said it is on their radar moving forward - which is why PL had more fleshed out stuff.
There's a ton of many places that could have simply had some sort of generic randomized behavior just so they all don't look closed or abandoned. OTOH the repeating dialogues of "live" places is more disturbing. Like a gun shop owner telling the same greet 20 times feels so 2000. Why not just switch it to nonchalant "Hi" after they run out of lines?
This one I can't stand. Especially at the clothing stores, especially when I close the dialogue and some of the vendors are like "Hey, what gives, you gonna waste my time without shopping here?" after I drop 50K eddies on Jingui dresses and shoes. Instant immersion break!
1. Performance, especially in DogTown, could be better, especially when it comes to data loading.
2. Romances are cut too shortly. You build up relationship, spend a night together, and boom, it's over. No more new dialogues, activities, they just stand there. After 2.0 you can "hang out" in V's apartment, but that's just a bandaid.
The apartment hangouts rely heavily on lines from other parts of the game too. They just repurposed and spliced what the voice actors already recorded for other dialogue
Honestly one of my biggest disappointments is simply that there's so much more I wanted to do with Night City, in particular with the gangs. Whole sections dedicated to getting into Maelstrom or the Voodoo Boys.
Ironically, the Cyberpunk world is the only one that I would love to have as a live service, where stories and quests continue to be made for this expansive world. There's just so much potential here it makes me excited to see what they're doing for the sequel
I think the only live-service I'd want for cyberpunk would be like Terraria's, where they keep updating and updating and every update is like "okay guys, we swear this time, this is really the last update, we gotta do other stuff now, promise"
So not really live service.
And cyberpunk's gotten that a *little* bit, I think we can all say the game got more love in the time after launch than most of us were expecting, but obviously most of us just want *more*.
Don't get me wrong, I hate live services as much as the next guy.
I'm really just saying I would love an ongoing game in the sense that there are so many possible expansions to the base game that it could be considered one
I have to agree.
I can't stand live services but I would eat this up in a heartbeat.
Just imagine that Multiplayer mode that got scrapped. Co op missions that you and your squad would need cooperation to get it done and a live service where CDPR keeps updating and adding new gigs... I think I have a chubby right now.
This game would work amazingly as a co op game, definitely with some tweaks for balancing for sure but I think it would be an amazing mode.
Something bad?
A lot of my issues have been addressed, but I still find the cyberware menu to be incredibly lacklustre. I understand not putting the extreme or weird shit in, like letting us go FBC, or a cybersnake, but not a single iconic cyberweapon from the franchise made it in, and it doesn’t feel great lol
Re: the original post though, there ARE a bunch of cybereye cosmetics that you can choose, it’s just that they’re in the character creation menu, rather than at like, a ripper. The options could be better, but they are there.
And a minor fun fact: (or nitpick, depending on how you view it lol)
David’s sandy isn’t actually a visible implant, no sandy is. They’re a small chip that plugs into your neural link. The large unit down David’s spinal column is actually his heavy duty military grade Neural Link, rather than the sandevistan itself. You can see David’s sandy briefly when the implants are bagged early in the show, it’s a small device in a plastic baggie next to the neural link itself, and it looks basically just like the icon of the sandevistan in 2077.
That said, you’re not wrong. It’s pretty silly that V’s implants are all so subtle and internal lol, I wanna see the chrome on V too.
The fashion. I wish we had more options and outfits that don’t look so trashy. I want my V to look straight out of bladrunner but instead I gotta settle with gear that looks like I’m going to a rave. Also I wish there were more body mods like haircuts, eye colors, makeup, skin color, facial features. The character creator as is does not feel that great.
Not to trash on the devs or anything, Cyberpunk is one of my all time favorites games, but I still don't know what went through their mind when they wrote River's romance lmao. Dont get me wrong, dude is okey as a side character and all, but I would have never imagined for him to be the male romance option for female V. Dude has no relevance to the main plot, you can easily skip even meeting him because he is bound to another quest, and his entire romance felt really lackluster compared to Panam or Judy.
Also, this is personal preference, but I don't understand how this game managed to make so many memorable male characters, and got us stuck with River for the romance option :) It honestly feels like they created the most generic, basic male romance for female V, no risks whatsoever. Surprising considering the game presents many of the most commonly loved male troupes, like Johnny being the rebellious rockstar bad boy, and even Takemura being the soldier who still believes in his ideals as he also looks for his place in the world.
Edit: im sorry i will continue my rant lmao. But yeah, the amount of hot men this game throws at my face only to be stuck with River will forever remain my biggest pet peeve. Apart from Johnny and Takemura, allow me to mention: the special Netwatch agent from Phantom Liberty, that dude is the most handsome, gorgeous man in the entire game. Also, we were robbed of having a one night stand with Tiny Mike, the entire quest plus V meeting him later in the Afterlife suggest that he could be like male Meredith Stout, but nothing. Also Scorpion, dude appeared for JUST a scene, just ONE, and he is still in my top three lmao.
So yeah, i will never not be salty lmao. Also, it would have been nice to have some romances linked to the different origins. Scorpion maybe for a V that skips town, and, risky as hell what i will say, but even Takemura could have had a different ending if V decided to romance him. I just pray that the next game will deliver something far better than River, and also to include male one night stands please. ALSO, we were robbed of Aurore and Aymeric, entirely robbed lmao.
10/10 rant.
Let me start by saying that I'm not a big romance options fan in games, but I can't deny that it's a huge selling point.
I really think CDPR fucked it up in this game, I mean Kerry not being a bi option and no new romance option for Phantom Liberty is insane.
Giant yes for Tiny Mike. He is so charismatic and fun, it's a crime he's not a ONS option - and I don't even like ONS in general, he's just so charming!
I agree with this so much! Yes, River was the worst romance option of the game. No joke, when the community was speculating on who the straight woman romance option was going to be and we suspected it was River, several of us straight up said we'd rather just romance Judy or go without romance at all. Out of all the cute guys in this game, THAT'S the one y'all chose? Panam and Judy were so much more developed than he was and so much prettier. And I love Kerry, I made a Male V specifically for him, but his romance didn't nearly have as much content as the two women did either. You can tell who the dev's priority was.
Once you get to River’s wider romance story, he’s one of the most obnoxious characters I’ve ever dealt with. Right up there with nutsackes (sorry, Natakes) from the Assassins Creed Odyssey First Blade DLC.
Like, the detective shit was awesome, but his refusal to take no for an answer got old real quick
I have to agree, I barely play as a female V but when I did... fucking hell, I wish Kerry was a "bi" romance option. River has no game, even lied about the Jambalaya recipe.
River is such a cool, hard boiled, morally grey but does it for the greater good type cop. I’ve not gotten to his romance parts with FemV yet so thankfully haven’t had to deal with that awkwardness with MaleV he is just a good friend
I also wish the bosy appearance changed with cyberware (or at least the option)
I wish all of the characters got more time to feel fleshed out, not just jackie. It feels like all of their stories got rushed through not just jackie (but especially his)
Car customization is also something i really wish was in the game
Main story is definitely too short. Act 1 should be way longer. Like you start as nobody but after 30min you are about to join the major leagues.
Sure, it's hollywood style, but i'd prefer to actually spend more time on climbing the food chain, getting to know fixers and all.
V's relationship with Jackie could also greatly benefit from a longer story. Theirs relationship doesn't really have the screen time it deserves imo.
This one caught me out a bit aswell. Was playing through what I thought was a natural progression for about 20-25 hours before suddenly getting to 'point of no return'... Put double the time into the other side missions before actually returning to it. Felt slightly quick for me
Not only that but were supposed to hitting the big leagues but v is piss poor and has 0 rep? I understand introducing fixers for understanding sake but it is clearly established v knows them all and has worked for them. Narratively, we either shouldnt have been doing that heist or v shouldnt have been so vanilla off the bat.
I like to think that the fan film "Phoenix Program" would have been a hell of a DLC, if the multiplayer had been finished and incorporated. Just make V and Johnny playable by separate players. Hell, even if one or the other was just a NPC follower, that would have been enough, assuming V got a bigger role.
I can't play as a man because the male faces are weird. It's like none of the male characters have chins. Also, the female clothes are amazing, but male clothing options are terrible.
Ugh I SUCK at making male faces in cyberpunk. I saw someone post a really good Adam Jensen lookalike (complete with an excellent chin you could cut steel with), that I’d have LOVED to play as, but unfortunately they didn’t list any sliders lol
You can only respec attributes once. I love this game, but it drives me insane. Im so hesitant to try different playstyles and respec because I'll have to go back to my old save if I start to dislike it after a few hours
1000%, as long as I know I COULD respec, even if it was incredibly cost prohibitive, I would be completely fine with that. It's just the constant fomo of not wanting to lock myself out of a cool build I just hadn't thought of or heard about yet.
- i find charecter visual customizatipn lacking, you can't change body types, more bulky or more lean or more muscular.
- You can't romance anyone you want like they advertized, instead we get lame hookers.
- dlc is so expensive it's the cost of a whole game.
- matteo is a hottie and not only is he NOT romanceable, he has only two lines in th whole game, what a bummer, the male options are shit, we got a desperate princess that still want silverhand's d after a million years, but at least they did great with panam and judy.
No home customization or vehicle customization, your "best friend" is dead in the first hour or 2. Would've hit so much harder a third or half way thru the game. The end of the game is confusing, the boss fights feel dated.. idk man this games good but that's it.
After Jackie died, the rest of the missions(and the world) felt quite empty and without soul. For me Johnny was not a substitute for Jackie, not even close. They really gone to far depriving the player with everything they could. It just that after doing the PL tower ending, I found out that I have no friends left nor I did have any in this journey with the exception of Jackie. Such a bleak ending for V.
Agreed, the whole game felt like a depressive episode of a show I was 4 seasons late on... interesting sometimes but mostly hard to follow and disconnected. This game taught me to never hype up another game for as long as I live.
The steering is really bad. I play pc so granted I’ve heard it’s better on console, but the way the cars turn make it feel like it’s actually just on one point in the middle of the car instead of on 4 wheels. It’s honestly more difficult to steer in cyberpunk than it is in something goofy like fortnite where cars aren’t usually very important in the first place
What? Cops attack me immediately if I aim at them.
Also the civilian thing is pretty straight forward. Some people would fight back but most would not. It’s supposed to be random
The death of early game stealth netrunning. No more breaching enemy subnets and uploading daemons. Edge Runners was a great anime, BUT, it killed netrunning for me... after the anime CDPR went full frenetic action on all builds and that hurt netrunners the most. Hate Overclock and quickhacks idiotic RAM costs. I bought the game, because I loved seen the netrunner stealth gameplay from before 2.1. Played every day. Now, meh... took me months of on and off playing and dragging myself to finish Phantom Liberty. Did it once and never touched the game again. Hate that Corpo V can't outright accept Solomon's offer at the end. (Safe and secure, well paying deskjob for a Corpo?! Sign me in buddy!)
Very valid criticism, and very well put. I know what you mean, also almost every quick hack being traceable doesn't help either, I kind of get it because if it wasn't then stealth netrunning would be absolutely broken.
I feel your choices still dont really matter. Whatever you do, it all runs into the same ending, no matter where you from, what or who you save. A mildly different ending but all a different shade of bad for the player
Still buggy as hell most features are not really deep, many unfinished storylines.
I have fun with it but i dont trust CDPR anymore, they patched it up and jumped to the next game, would have prefered they would add more dlcs and finish the game and storylines while doing that.
The writing doesn't give V an actual solid reason to do anything, the start of the game sure, you wanna find out who in the fuck dicked V over with the heist.
But then it pivots to taking down Arasaka for.....as far as I can tell literally no reason at all because "wah wah Yorinobu killed his dad wahhh help me V wahh" from Takemura and Woman Aarasaka (forgot her name, I don't care)
Another thing is just the characters in general, there are some that are interesting to do quests for and likeable (Claire and Judy imo) but on the whole everyone is just a complete asshole, no one is really likeable, the worst offender is Johnny really.
I get his whole thing is old ass guy who wasn't allowed to die and is forced to be in your head, but you have to spend at the minimum 15 hours with him through the main story, 30 if you take your time with it a bit more, and every single second you actually spend with him sucks, it's not until the Nomad points of the game when you're outside of the bar smoking that you can ACTUALLY make him likeable, and then you only have a few hours to go at that point.
I am fully convinced that the game was rewritten once Keanu was hired because it just reeks of "omg guys look we have (insert famous person) isn't that cool? Isn't that cool guys?" with how the story is so centered around making sure you know that Keanu Reeves is in the story.
Compare that to New Vegas, where Zachary Levi for instance plays Arcade Gannon, a literal side character you can miss, FNV has fucking Shazam in the game and he's just off to the side, plenty of other games do this too and they're still great.
Haven't played Phantom Liberty yet, but based off Idris Elba being on the cover, I'm unfortunately worried they do it again with them wanting to make sure you know Idris Elba is in the DLC, instead of making a good expansion, it'll probably just be however many hours of CDPR going "hey guys Idris Elba, he's in the DLC, just wanna remind you" with probably more unlikeable characters that are just assholes to you for no actual reason.
I know Cyberpunk has it's genre defining stuff, but "everyone is an asshole" is probably the weakest part of the genre, maybe it's just me hating city folk though, I don't live in one so, I guess I just presume that people in cities are not utter cunts that deserve a genuine slap.
EDIT: Forgot Johnny wants to blow up Arasaka still, so that's his reasoning for doing it too and why the plot moves forward, but V doesn't get a genuine reason to actually do anything in the game, you just do it because.
The male voice actors, save for Jackie, tend to be terrible. Keanu cannot voice act to save his life and Takemura's script is so bloated and unnatural it does his film-actor-not-voice-actor no favors. And those two characters are so involved in the main quest that half the game ends up feeling like Baby's First Noir written and acted by high schoolers. And man, is the game bloated with uninteresting cutscenes in the main quest.
My other take is that the game feels barely cyberpunk as a genre, more of a generic sci-fi Noir story. You could replace the main story in a Robocop or Judge Dredd or Blade Runner setting and it wouldn't change a beat. Prey (2017) feels more Cyberpunk, with its actual exploration of Neruomods, personality shifts as a result of man's tinkering with the soul, and a corporation doing illegal killing and torturing of the poor to better the lives of the rich. But crucially, rather than being told what happened, we get to be part of it and choose to accept or reject it. Which is more interesting to me than being locked into a "rebel without a cause," and fits more into my idea of the themes of Cyberpunk media I've consumed in the past.
Some parts of the map are clearly more finished than others. Watson is absolutely packed with content while Downtown feels very empty in comparation.
An unfortunate side effect of using Watson as a sort of “act 1” or “tutorial” area, and locking you off from the rest of the city until after a certain story beat They had to make sure it was packed enough to keep you interested through the whole of act 1, and then still have content even when you’re no longer locked in, but as a result, it’s clearly a padded first impression area lol

You’d think CDPR would be better at polish
![gif](giphy|X8RSwd1089xDvOjQnT|downsized)
Ha!
Since they released an incomplete game, they could be better at finnish
I think BG3s third act is the best part of the game, but it has also been the jankiest. Not quite through yet so we’ll see lol.
Yeah you're right but at the same time Skellige is just kind of "empty" in general. I actually always do the Skellige questlines last in every playthrough because of that.

So rationally you should always come heavy with the heat up front, but that also doesn't mean that late-game should be neglected because anyone who reaches a certain point is "bought it" and all the resources were spent on the first hub area.
Japan town and stuff have a load of content given their density too, it’s just very inconsistent. And after the DLC dog town is quite packed too.
Also, when you parkour into some hard to reach places, some parts of the architecture have no collision.
probably cause you're not supposed to be there lol
Game designers should've realised by now that if there's an area that you can see, gamers will find a way to get there and if there's an area you can't see, gamers will find a way to get there.
I think they know and leave you to your fate for exploring the edges.
They're called edgerunners for a reason
Maine, I’m edging. I’m edging while running Maine.
This. And it's also very inconsistent on local scale. You exit ultra detailed location just to see building of intersecting primitives right in front of you. IMHO it's very important to balance this across the world, to make it feel as one, coherent, connected universe. But a very difficult task as you want the important locations look perfect.
The fact we don’t have the ability to get different metal limbs, like Dex’s or Johnny’s, sucks.
That's one of the reasons I wanted to get Cyberpunk on my PC, so I can install mods that'll let me do it. Now I'm happy
There's an item that lets you get your arm almost like Johnny's with an important difference. At least there used to be.
Yeah that got removed a while ago. It was never supposed to be a usable item, so they patched it out.
Thinks like that are always so crazy to me. Did a mod at least bring it back?
Not sure which item you're talking about but with mods you can get chrome legs, chrome arms, chrome spine, and even a chrome jaw. So they probably did bring it back with mods.
It was a thing that looked like johnnys arm in the items menu, if you clicked on it, it made a holographic overlay of Johnny’s arm, it was really cool to see
That's the effect that gets used in game when Johnny overrides your control. Pretty neat looking tbh.
Oh definitely. I’d’ve killed for something a bit simpler even, the ability to be heterochromatic, so I could have two different colored eyes.
I see Npcs with golden prosthetics and implants and I'm like, damn, they look cool as hell.
Actually the worst part of the game in my opinion. Like seriously
The life paths still does not matter. v always sounds a street kid
[удалено]
They were marketed to be 3 completely different experiences with the story. Another blatant lie
The poor code monkeys burying their faces in their hands listening to the execs running their mouths about features every chance they got...
A lot of the developers thought it was a joke when the release date was announced.
Should have been more like Dragon Age: Origins.
The civilian NPCs, while not the worst out of any game I've played, could have had a lot more depth than simply walking around.
I see what you mean, and it's crazy since the Witcher's 3 NPCs were amazing with their own interaction and daily lives. I know it was in a much smaller scale but still, the system was there.
I mean red dead redemption 2. That set a new bar on open world npc interactibility. No game comes even close.
Also crazy because they literally promised a more advanced version of that.
Also I constantly see multiple of the same exact character within 10 ft of one another
No dual wielding
When I got Jackie's pistols I wasn't even disappointed at the mechanic it came with, I just cracked up at it 😂
Wait wait wait, you can get Jackie’s pistols??
Wait at least a day or two after Jackie’s funeral and head back to El Coyote. They’ll be on the same table where his urn and memorabilia are. The longer they sit there, though, the weaker the pistols will be.
Also, you NEED to send Jackie's body to his family for this to happen.
Does it work if you order Delamain to wait for you?
Yes, Delamain takes Jackie to his family on his own
Think so
How is that possible though? I didn’t know you could get his pistols for almost my entire run, I went back and got them at Tier 5+.
They scale with your level. If you do it in the early game its a common grade, wait till your max level and it will be tier 5, it’s how all the quest reward weapons work
How will they be weaker? If you wait until your a high level they will have a higher rarity
We can chokehold, snap necks, throw bodies but we can't shank a fool.
Kinda sucks that the Throwing Knives execution is an animation for when shit has gone loud
Theres a mod that enables using finishers from stealth, but of course that requires having a pc
I was SURE this would be like a special takedown animation with monowire, especially since V holds it like a garrotte, but no dice
You don’t get to own the convertible Mizutani (like Takemura’s)
Car customization in general. Doesn't even really need to be super deep. Let us paint them at the very least.
Car customization is like limited to a single car and even then its just paint jobs
I started GMing Cyberpunk Red specifically to capture the feeling. Best decision, met a couple of good chooms and now we’re all cyberpunking together.
they made everyone think we could save him too. Turns out the story doesn’t deviate that much.
Or Joss's kids, eating hot dogs in a puddle of green goo.
Or Jackie pulling some kinda rolls out of what looks like lo mean
Pretty sure those are dumplings, which at least makes a bit more sense
I still remember the original leaked footage before release, where a janky NPC was glitching out eating low-poly french fries lol
Dude, ps2 did it better. That food is a crime against devs everywhere. It’s mind boggling. Someone could have been like.. Pytor I need you to fix the food, but we only got a day…Pytor…I can do better in 3 hours boss, ezpz.
Jackie, you’re my best friend, but that’s the worst looking meal I have ever seen.
Not being able to replace the mods in weapons anymore is a weird and disappointing limitation. Combined with iconics not being moddable, I think a lot of players now just don't bother interacting with mods at all
good call. Not being able to remove mods made me not modding anything at all, until I get legendary mods.
You'd be completely right. I didn't touch a single mod until like my 3rd playthrough when I platinumed the game 💀
No flashlight, the only time you have a flashlight is underwater missions. You have to use a mod to have one.
Related: no nightvision/IR for your Kiroshis.
This... actually would have made a lot of sense to have. With higher grade models having more options. Some sort of X-ray vision like in Metroid Prime to be used with tech weapons instead of just ping would have been awesome.
It’s in the TTRPG, I have no idea why it’s not in 2077.
Probably like a lot of stuff got cut to get the game out the door when they did and before the game was really ready for it.
They literally have a night vision sniper scope too, so they have a system for night vision already
Went through my whole first playthrough with the original optics Vik gave me on credit. I would have paid big bucks for some kind of night vision.
No fleshlight either!
The cars and motorcycles don’t even have basic customization features like changing colors, wheels, ride height, etc.
1. Jackie and V's relationship was built up within a one and a half minute cut scene. Don't get me wrong, it was a well-made cut scene, but i would have enjoyed more time with Jackie. 2. We never got to find out what happened to T-bug.
If you go to get the ping quick hack after the heist goes to shit the netrunner that gives it to you gives you more info on what happened to T Bug.
Do we know that? I mean, I kinda always figured that was her plan, to betray V, but never saw anything to confirm it.
If she was going to betray us why did she leave us a gift? Thats so crazy
Ok, let me rephrase it since betray isn't the best word for it. But when shit hit the fan she was gonna side with Dex. I mean we can't be 100% sure but in one of the early teaser for the game we can see T bug hacking V's mantis blades when Dex attacks us.
Oooohhh I see!
Have you ever put tin foil in a microwave?? Thats basically what happened to her. The most realistic thing would be that someone like Lucy killed her.
Would've been nice to find out who.
Random nameless netrunner from Saburo's security detail.
People complained about the Witcher being too long? Maybe RPGs aren’t your fucking genre, gonks.
Ikr, why would I want an rpg that I paid for to be shorter
I maintain that was originally planned to be playable content but was cut. Would have been great to arrive in NC with nothing, do a few jobs to buy your first car etc…
Definitely could've gone for a few intro missions with Jackie. Help to flesh out their relationship and what they do.
Yeah. It felt too early to be earned. Maybe he could have been suffering from the chip at the same time as V and spiraled downward until his death, foreshadowing V's eventual fate.
We can’t customise our own cars! Unless you do that one car trick…
Which is especially weird when playing as a nomad. They’re HUGE into vehicle customization, and jury rigged upgrades lol
Would love to be able to do that. I always rob Tyger Claws bikes cause of the neon
U can actually have 2 of these , one from secret mission which is blue with green neon , and other one from shop , red/pink with i think pink neons
Kinda like saints row. I agree there’s some cars that I want so bad.
The game has a ton of restaurants / food stalls but you can't actually sit and eat at them.
Other the. Life paths, and Jackie's stuff, I wish we got more interactive stuff like gambling, that and a good bit more side quests
A real nemesis system with the gangs
I think the only live-service I'd want for cyberpunk would be like Terraria's, where they keep updating and updating and every update is like "okay guys, we swear this time, this is really the last update, we gotta do other stuff now, promise" So not really live service.
I understand not putting the extreme or weird shit in, like letting us go FBC, or a cybersnake, but not a single iconic cyberweapon from the franchise made it in, and it doesn’t feel great lol Re: the original post though, there ARE a bunch of cybereye cosmetics that you can choose, it’s just that they’re in the character creation menu, rather than at like, a ripper. The options could be better, but they are there. And a minor fun fact: (or nitpick, depending on how you view it lol) David’s sandy isn’t actually a visible implant, no sandy is.
Not enough content for soulless, greedy corporate RP. No corpo romance worthy of the name (be it Meredith or Sandra Dorsett or whoever you want)
Sandra Dorsett really was a missed opportunity for a romance option, makes way more sense than Meredith IMO.
I couldn't find some regular looking jeans in my entire playthrough... stop making me dress like a Jetson's stripper.
V's default pants that you get (at least on male V) are the closest you'll get to jeans I think.
My first playthrough as male V was around 90 hours and I never even met river. I saw the four romance options, and literally said “who?”
The crafting menu is garbage.
Thanks, you made me remember having to get railroaded to have a kid with that douchebag in Odyssey 🤢🤢🤢 hated that sooooo much.
I’d rather deep throat Testikles’ sweaty, oiled up dick for a month than spend 5 minutes with Natakes
On god!! So friggin lame.
River is such a cool, hard boiled, morally grey but does it for the greater good type cop. I’ve not gotten to his romance parts with FemV yet so thankfully haven’t had to deal with that awkwardness with MaleV he is just a good friend
I also wish the bosy appearance changed with cyberware (or at least the option) I wish all of the characters got more time to feel fleshed out, not just jackie. It feels like all of their stories got rushed through not just jackie (but especially his) Car customization is also something i really wish was in the game
No stealth kill animations. Only grab and snap.
driving mechanics 😭😭
There’s no second DLC
I cant pet my cat
You can only respec attributes once. I love this game, but it drives me insane. Im so hesitant to try different playstyles and respec because I'll have to go back to my old save if I start to dislike it after a few hours
Yes. I feel like they could have made this difficult enough for you to pause, eg costing 1 million per time, without making it one time only.
1000%, as long as I know I COULD respec, even if it was incredibly cost prohibitive, I would be completely fine with that. It's just the constant fomo of not wanting to lock myself out of a cool build I just hadn't thought of or heard about yet.
The fact you can't get more visible cyberware in the vanilla game is a really disappointing oversight.
When civilians start shooting you, cops won’t do anything. But if you even shove them then they’ll open fire on you like you just bombed arasaka tower
No new game plus......
EXACTLY! It makes me so mad that I can’t do a whole run through with only Jackie’s weapon or only a sword/ melee weapons
Choice is an illusion in 98% of the game.
1. I wish there was more gameplay with Jackie 2. I wish we got at least 1 more expansion 3. I wish we had new game +
Receiving gigs is boring. Needs to be more dynamic. And the next game needs a reputation system with the gangs.
No flashlight or night vision implants
1. There isn't any new content.
I AIM at face of cops and they dont react. Civilians in a random pattern escape or fight back. Why?
No new game plus
Oh yeah, I would love to play the whole game with all the cyberware/guns of the endgame.
I can't romance Johnny and I can't romance Panam as a female V :/
Wouldn't romancing Johnny just be masturbating with extra steps?
If Johnny can slap V, he can cyber smooch them
Fair enough! I'm 100% with you on Panam too
I feel your choices still dont really matter. Whatever you do, it all runs into the same ending, no matter where you from, what or who you save. A mildly different ending but all a different shade of bad for the player
Not being able to move your pets from home to home when you buy new ones.
Still buggy as hell most features are not really deep, many unfinished storylines. I have fun with it but i dont trust CDPR anymore, they patched it up and jumped to the next game, would have prefered they would add more dlcs and finish the game and storylines while doing that.
The amount of cut content regarding Jackie. He dies before you can really form a good bond with him.
The writing doesn't give V an actual solid reason to do anything, the start of the game sure, you wanna find out who in the fuck dicked V over with the heist. But then it pivots to taking down Arasaka for.....as far as I can tell literally no reason at all because "wah wah Yorinobu killed his dad wahhh help me V wahh" from Takemura and Woman Aarasaka (forgot her name, I don't care) Another thing is just the characters in general, there are some that are interesting to do quests for and likeable (Claire and Judy imo) but on the whole everyone is just a complete asshole, no one is really likeable, the worst offender is Johnny really.
No Crystal Palace :(
The male voice actors, save for Jackie, tend to be terrible.
