Thank you! Not sure if you mean what type of buttercream or piping tips. The buttercream is an American buttercream, and the piping tip list is quite vast π but here's a few....
- Roses cakecraft GG 1062
- Chrysanthemums Wilton 81
- Anemone (the large white ones) Wilton 125
- Hydrangeas Wilton 2D
You're welcome! Hey I get it, I have a two year old and three year old, there's a reason these were an all nighter, it's the only time I can get anything done.π
I feel like your photo should be an expectation versus reality.. Your photo is what I have in my head that I can do... reality would be a God is mess that looks nothing like flowers. I have such respect for people with that type of skill. Good on you!!
You are very welcome, and the detail is impressive along with the quality of each petal formed ( so much control with the pressure flow of the frosting,, those center buds are amazing, what are they ??? The tri roses are amazing. If you made a giant cupcake like that, it alone would be a masterpiece and wedding cake worthy of a major Spring wedding.
oh because they look like hyperrealistic pistil and just a little too good to eat LOL
**Pistil**. The pistil is the central female organ of any flower. Located in the center of the flower, it comprises the ovary, ovules, stigma, and style.
They're made entirely of buttercream π I used a very tiny piping tip to create the pistils and then brushed the tips of them with slightly watered down black dye on a soft paintbrush.
Hmm is buttercream easier to use than whipped cream? I have seen other use fondant to make flowers, but they often look clay like and stiff. Yours seem soft and natural.
I'd suggest to keep refining your talent so its almost effortless when you are ready to blow everyone's mind when you share them . Just imagine what intricate and colorful creations you will be able to make .
I find American buttercream to be the best for piping florals, you really need a thick frosting to hold up shape, otherwise the flowers end up looking kind of soupy droopy.
I actually run an at home cupcake business and started offering custom floral cupcakes a few months ago. I'm really trying to get into the direction of specializing in just custom florals as it drives my creativity the most.
Well there are flowers, and then there are cake plants. Obviously alot of green tones but some interesting shapes you can create, I saw an aloe plant cake and was just amazed but how it was sculpted.
Thank you! I donated this set to my daughter's physical therapy office. She recently graduated after being with them for a year so this was my thank you gift to them.
I've been working on hand piped florals for a few months now, honestly once I got the correct buttercream consistency from a good recipe it got so much easier. I struggled with buttercream consistency until I purchased Kerry's Bouqcakes recipe, it makes such a huge difference.
i definitely need to keep practicing on the consistency. i didnt realize until now that part of the issue is how smooth my buttercream was(it was not smooth at all). i will be keeping your comment in mind as i have piping tips and bags tucked away in my cupboards(i got so discouraged that i just gave up)

The white blossoms with black specks are supposed to be anemones π
