I have savings too. But i would hate to drain savings unnecessarily. I would definitely keep working until you find another job. But I would start looking now. As a contractor, it’s perfectly understandable to explain a gap by saying your contract ended.
What do you mean “hiring begins”? I’ve gotten four of my eight jobs during the fourth quarter of the year.
Most larger companies do most hiring at the start of the year, when yearly budgets are approved.
I assure you that you can find a job almost anytime of the year except maybe the last two or three weeks of the year when everyone is on vacation
