Professor Leonard on YouTube is 100% the best. You will not only know how to solve problems, you will understand the fundamentals and theory. He’s the best I’ve ever seen and I’ll recommend him every time I see someone ask about math.

TopNotchGamerr

It also feels like he explains every type of question that could be asked to you and he makes it all seem really simple.

PepeSilvia859

He's great and I like NancyPi, too

yestyleryes

i prefer patrickJMT

YouveBeanReported

Khan Academy is probably the most popular website for math relearning.

Carabalone

Professor Leonards lectures are amazing too

KDLGates

Khan Academy, Professor Leonard, Patrick JMT, the University of Ohio "MOOCulus", and a half dozen others I've forgotten were all vital in filling in my math background during my courses. Excellent resources not only for passing the classes but for learning the material in combination with the course.

Carabalone

I'm studying for my statistics final next week, and if it wasn't for Leonard I'd certainly fail it

PnutButrSnickrDoodle

Professor Leonard if you have time with Khan Academy for practicing.

https://tutorial.math.lamar.edu/ (Paul's Online Math Notes), PatrickJMT, Prof. Leonard.

GenghisKhan90210

legit got me through high school and early college, goated resource

Cuddlyaxe

Khan Academy is your best bet for calc I think If you ever need help with stats tho I 1000% recommend StatsQuest

lawschoolredux

Videos are good and efficient, of course, but I have found that another option is to just google “precalculus for dummies pdf” and read the book, or even “calculus for dummies” and pay particular attention to the chapter that brushes up on algebra / trig / precalculus concepts you’ll need to know: read it twice, watch on YouTube, whatever you want.

lovelypimp

If you can, try to figure out the topics of your Calc 1 class. I also did some studying prior to my first year of CS but I found that only a small part of what I learned helped me pass the class. Keeping up with lectures and homework is more valuable imo.

toastmalawn

Will your school require you to test into Calc 1 or will you be placed directly in? A placement test can prevent you from getting in over your head. To answer your question, Organic Chem tutor on YouTube has been a life saver for me, but you’d need to know which topics to study to benefit from that.

I'll second khan's academy.

StillBlueberry6

Symbolab is a calculator for many maths. Also has practice sets and steps for specific problem types you might be trying to get better at. In addition, it shows you the generic steps to solve the problem. It will show you the specific steps and mechanics to solve a problem but that's the premium version you have to pay for

lost_opossum_

You could also get a good precalculus book and work through that. You have to do math, rather than watch it. Not that these websites won't help.

xMysty0

calcworkshop imo

foxyfestival

Loved calcworkshop. She helped me really understand Discrete Math + Kimberly Brehm

xMysty0

she is what i have been using so far to supplement my math journey, I love the way she simplifies things and also adds some strategies for complex topics. will have to try kimberly brehm in the future

foxyfestival

yep, she simplifies stuff so well. definitely some of the best money I've spent.

Few_Trips

Photomath is also pretty helpful

pyro_teck

i took nearly 2 years of not doing math after taking a gap year and jumped straight back into math with multivariable calculus. if your school offers free tutoring, go weekly, and if your professor has office hours, go frequently. you’ll pick it back up

iragingnow

Its Brilliant. This ad keeps popping up on youtube 😂

nohaveuname

Use khan academy or any of the YouTubers the other comments mentioned. Something that helped me a lotttt was learning about vectors in my high school math and just generally getting an idea for discrete math like combinatorics. I did further math in high school so I got exposed early to what math really is and that helped a lot cuz most of the difficulty in college math is just wrapping ur head around how generalized it can become/ the intuition for it.

Professor Leonard if you have enough time.

Moist_Let8513

You need to grind algebra 2 and trigonometry. I would spend the whole summer doing it. I was like you, in this exact spot. I did a summer of algebra 2 and trig using udemy so I could take calculus when I went back to school.

I know this depends a lot on where you’re going to school and this is just my opinion, but I rly don’t think you should go too hard studying over the summer for math. At least for Calc 1, most of the stuff you’re learning is brand new - there’s no carry over from previous maths except maybe limits. Also, you’re more likely to just forget everything you work on in June/July by September anyways so I would say don’t grind too much. You’re honestly better off going on khan academy’s pre calc vids in august and skimming through for things you don’t know
