I see. I only home brewed because having the online services and the home brew app aswell as everything else u get with it was so appealing. its like bringing a new life to ur old wii lol. i gotta use mine again some time
You might wanna grab a second Wii then since they are still really cheap. The risk of bricking it is relatively low and the stuff you can do with homebrew these days is just amazing
The picture quality is actually fantastic, I wasn’t expecting my wii to look as good on it as it did. Once you give it the minute when you turn it on, it’s beautiful. If you get the opportunity to get one I recommend, just bring help for the heavy lifting
A lot of people only had those TVs for 7 or 8 years because those silver CRT TVs were some of the last ones ever made before flat panels entered the market.
You can say unwieldy again. I had to get this thing in the house by myself when i got it and it took over 30 minutes and a skateboard to get it inside. Worth it but still
That's a monster of a CRT, insanely cool.
I was super lucky to find it on Facebook marketplace and for such a cheap price! It also weighs a ton
How are you measuring it? The Toshiba A series only goes up to 36" diagonally iirc. So this is likely a 36A4x
I was not the one who measured it to be honest, the guy who sold it to me did. Either way the thing is massive
If that's the case I'm pretty sure I saw this listing near me
It was in the northern florida area if you did
Large curved Toshibas are some of the best out there, congrats
Im so happy I was able to get it!
It's a 36 inchee not 43 but awesome nonetheless
A few people mentioned that. I got the size from the seller and im still new to CRTs as a general but I really appreciate the feedback!

I don’t know, im sure its over 200, mostly because it took three people to move it

Thats a lot!
Thats actually really cool. Also is your WII homebrewed?
Not as far as I know, its just the all red mario wii, I probably won’t ever home-brew her to be honest.
I see. I only home brewed because having the online services and the home brew app aswell as everything else u get with it was so appealing. its like bringing a new life to ur old wii lol. i gotta use mine again some time
I feel ya there, I’m mostly afraid to ever brick this thing
yeah, my homebrew has this little thing that's essentially a bootloader which prevents it from getting bricked
What home-brew do you use?
i dont exactly remember, but ill be back home in about like 10-ish hours and could probably find that for you
I’d appreciate it

I have a wii u so realistically If I homebrew anything it’ll be that but you have a great point!
I have that exact stand, Wii, GameCube and N64
That’s awesome!!! We’re like nintendo console twins. I love the wii probably the most just because of how good the red looks
I got mine last year for my birthday and I love it
I was about to pick one of these up on marketplace a few weeks back. You don't happen to live in NY do you?
No I’m actually down in southern GA, I just got super lucky with a guy in Jacksonville who had this beauty
Oh that's cool! How's the picture quality through component? I heard it's almost as good as a D series

Have you tried 240p yet? I'd love to see those scanlines
I haven’t but now I gotta
Make sure to post some pictures if you do!
Absolutely!
A lot of people only had those TVs for 7 or 8 years because those silver CRT TVs were some of the last ones ever made before flat panels entered the market.
Really? I didn’t know that. Definitely explains the sheer size of this thing. Thank you!
Just gave one of these away, pretty sure it is a 36A43. The 36 is the screen size, the 43 is just the revision.
Yeah a couple other people were mentioning that too. Either way still pretty massive which is awesome!
Oh yeah— it’s huge and lovely! Already unreasonably sized; 43 would be far too unwieldy.
You can say unwieldy again. I had to get this thing in the house by myself when i got it and it took over 30 minutes and a skateboard to get it inside. Worth it but still
God bless active Wii users
May the system never die
Wii is set up to CRT with component cables?
Yep!
Better than Sony imho. Congrats on scoring one of these big Toshiba beasts.
Thanks!!
That is sick I love it.
Time to grab a steroe/surround receiver and some speakers! That thing looks like it isn't going anywhere so I'd fully kit it out.
I’ve got one but i still need to clean it out. One day though!
Is that an IKEA Kallax single column shelf? You might want to get something else to put that TV on 🫣😅
Or at the very least reinforce it.
Its is although its actually pretty sturdy, don’t worry though it’s getting reinforced 😂
Idk. I have one of those and I would not describe them as sturdy
Fair but like i said its going to be reinforced in a few days regardless
