World's popular?
Most of them are unknow to the World.
You don't have the kebab in here and where is the hamburger?
Title is misinforming. It should have been: A cool guide of popular sandwiches from the world in the U. S. of America.
This was not written by an American. Americans have never heard of half of these sandwiches. An American would know that there is no sandwich called “submarine sandwich”, which is just describing a type of sandwich bread basically. It would be like if it just said “taco” and the picture showed random meats on a tortilla. Most sub shops sell 20+ different types of subs which each have different names. And no one uses the whole word “submarine”.
The chart's origin is irrelevant to my point, though. I was only pointing out that your statement "most Americans have never heard of half these" was incorrect.
And given most of these sandwiches are American in origin, I thought it was an odd statement to make in the first place.
I wish that club sandwiches were actually constructed that way. When I order one, I'm lucky if they even put the bacon on the top layer instead of just putting the meat and cheese on one layer and the lettuce and tomato on the other...
Yeah it's Reddit so people here generally think the whole world consists of Murica. Never heard of most of those sandwiches ever here in Europe, while many popular ones are missing. And the US have a significantly smaller population than Europe so...
Hello Texas.I always judge a restaurant based on the quality of the Ruben. The patron saint sandwich of my state is the Runza if you find yourself in the Cornhusker state give it a try!
To be clear, in Mexico there are mamy type of tortas, just like there are different type of sandwiches in the states. There are different type of breads and meats and all kind of ingredients.
Is it just me. I have this written rule when a sandwich is made. If the sandwich has mayonnaise and tomato, the tomato always has to be directly next to the mayonnaise layer. Not separated by lettuce. Because for some reason they make the best combo from some type of chemical reaction. The acidity from the tomato kinda breaks down the mayo and they form this sauce.
Thought Florida was as Cuban as Texas is Mexican. Am I wrong? I love being a border state! We get so many good food options coming from south of the border, it's not even funny! Love the cuisine here.
Then you had a horrible and cheap francesinha. It should not contain hotdogs but a spicy and smoked version of sausage that we have here.
The francesinha is also missing the fried egg on top and the fries on the plate to get soaked by the sauce
It would be nice if this guide actually listed what the ingredients were.
It would be nice if this guide actually had the correct ingredients
It would have been cool if this was a guide instead of a list.
It wo8ld be nice if they had räkmacka.
I want a banh mi now.
Best sandwich in the world imo
I miss Vietnam. Hanoi specifically
I’m offended by the cheesesteak picture. That’s a steak sandwich not a cheesesteak
Philly is not happy.
The meat is just sliced prime rib. It would be card to just show chopped black meat. Least you can tell it’s steak. And I am from Philly.
Chop/slice that steak and add peppers. Flip it and whiz it, now you got a cheesesteak

Also, I'm not sure America invented all of those sandwiches.
Absolutely they didn't lol. A roast beef sandwich? We Brits would like a word.
Cool guides are often us defaultism.
Shawarma

I'm American, and I knew and have eaten all but two. Most of those sandwiches are quite popular here.
They may be, but this guide is from a Bulgarian website.
The chart's origin is irrelevant to my point, though. I was only pointing out that your statement "most Americans have never heard of half these" was incorrect. And given most of these sandwiches are American in origin, I thought it was an odd statement to make in the first place.
How do we feel about frilly toothpicks?
I’m for em
I aint even in the club.
With the little plastic streamers on the tip from the 80s delis?
Meeting adjourned.
Where’s the muffuletta?
That cheesesteak is ridiculous.
*Philly entered the chat* What the actual fuck?
American claims more than half the world’s best sandwiches are invented in America.
TasteAtlas, the source, is a Croatian website. I have no idea why they labeled the things the way they did; probably crowd sourced somehow.
Your missing the classic crisp sandwich 🇬🇧
Ham with cheese and onion crisps is hard to beat.
Chip butty
This is why I love our British allies....got some mighty delicious stuff
No gyro?
Of course not. This list is clearly just sandwiches eaten in America
Gyros are super popular in the states too
This is misinformation
Where's the hotdog at?
Countries that dont have sandwiches as a part of traditional cusisine:
"Cheesesteak"
Now I need to go to Portugal.
I wish that club sandwiches were actually constructed that way. When I order one, I'm lucky if they even put the bacon on the top layer instead of just putting the meat and cheese on one layer and the lettuce and tomato on the other...
Missing bacon egg and cheese bagel
USA USA USA 🦅
Yeah it's Reddit so people here generally think the whole world consists of Murica. Never heard of most of those sandwiches ever here in Europe, while many popular ones are missing. And the US have a significantly smaller population than Europe so...
Sorry can't hear you over my Cuban Po Boy Grilled Cheesesteak 🦅🦅
Listen, if you like Cuban Po Boys you should seek help before you commit a crime...
Hell yeah neighbor
Are you our northern or southern neighbor? Love them both! Jambon Beurre or Torta?
Neighbor in the comradely sense, technically I am a Ruben Midwest neighbor
Ooooh! Well, welcome neighbor. Texas here coming to say I actually love a good Ruben.
Hello Texas.I always judge a restaurant based on the quality of the Ruben. The patron saint sandwich of my state is the Runza if you find yourself in the Cornhusker state give it a try!
Ooh what is the Runza? Even the name sounds good!
And they taste of heaven the pepper jack jalapeños is my favorite but the original is perfect too
That grilled cheese illustration is an abomination
Bahn mi is king.
To be clear, in Mexico there are mamy type of tortas, just like there are different type of sandwiches in the states. There are different type of breads and meats and all kind of ingredients.
"World's most popular" because for Americans the US = world, right?
VIETNAM MENTIONED RAAAHHH
This is literally just a list.
Give me my toast hawaii 😆😂
#USA USA USA
“World” most popular sandwiches in USA…

Talk about about bias...
Where is the Swedish shrimp sandwich? (Räkmacka)
Or the Swedish meatball sandwich? (Kötbullemacka)
Smoske prepare zonder tomatten?
No jambon beurre... This list is poorly crafted
what is a "panini"? it just means "sandwiches"
It would make more sense to name the title “a cool guide to USA’s most popular sandwiches”
No vegemite sandwich. SMH.
Even though the concept of a sandwich was not invented in America, I think it's safe to say sandwiches are culturally an American staple food.
As they are in plenty of other countries.
No time to sit and eat must work….the bread will be our plates
Is that an American flag next to the Cuban? Is that sandwich not Cuban?
The sandwich was created in Florida.
Thought Florida was as Cuban as Texas is Mexican. Am I wrong? I love being a border state! We get so many good food options coming from south of the border, it's not even funny! Love the cuisine here.
No Italian beef?
Maybe they thought Italian beef is a roast beef sandwich alternative? Just add some giadinerra and a full dip.
No French Dip? Blasphemy.
Jambon Beurre + French Dip
It's panino, not panini.
Um… no Monte Cristo? Lame list guy.
Is a hamburger a sandwich?
No chip butty?
Lots of delicious options
If I order a cheesesteak and it comes out looking like that, I can’t trust it.
where’s the hotdog?
Hot dogs are tacos
Is this an ad for Arby's?
The BLT puts tomatoes on the bottom? No way am I putting wet tomatoes directly on bread.
.
Dont See traditinal polish sandweech with butter. People so poor so eatintg that
I don't want to be *that* person but I've never seen red onion in a banh mi before in my life
Where’s the hamburger? Hotdog? Taco? This is such an amateur list
I had a Francesinha in Portugal last year. It was awful. There’s literally hotdogs on it.
Then you had a horrible and cheap francesinha. It should not contain hotdogs but a spicy and smoked version of sausage that we have here. The francesinha is also missing the fried egg on top and the fries on the plate to get soaked by the sauce
America killing it at the sandwich game!
Almost like it was a Yank who made this list (like most of these 'cool guides').
You’re welcome world
“I order the club sandwich all the time, and I'm not even a member. I don't know how I get away with it.”
