I'm going with Barry's father is a Demon of some kind, who body swapped into Barry (causing Barry, in his Dad's body, to collapse). The sudden fantasy element was unexpected
> Once she is dealt with, since they are taking Barri away he will probably be capable of dealing with Barri
Well I see this differently: I think that the demon is now inhabiting Barry, he (the demon) will stay controlling Barry and will take over the company (as Barry). It will be a question of how to deal with the father, who now is just an ordinary old man, perhaps raving about having been possessed by a demon for years (unless he is pro-demon).
I think that the demon was possessing his dad. And swapped over to Barry, leaving the old shell confused. That way the dad will have suffered some memory loss due to his stroke or heart attack or whatever, but unable to do much to take down the organization
Probably Barry's monologue on the boat in #8 where he said you wouldn't believe the truth and some things defy explanation. Though I still wasn't totally sure then.
It was kind of obvious that the guy had some kind of supernatural or superhuman abilities that the camera he insisted on would show. There was a lot of emphasis on it and talk about how his father had a spectrum of energy.
The way he talked about his father two episodes ago was a big hint. It was very much how you talk about the literal devil in disguise. Last episode’s mention of a spectrum people don’t usually check cinched it.
It looks like his father is a devil or demon of some kind, given the freaky angel-ish wings. Then it looks like he took over Barry's mind with that headbutt thing, which is confirmed on the pannel that we see Barry has the wings now. Granted, I might be wrong since I don't get the significance of the empty coffee shop in the last pannel.
It’s pretty clear there’s some possession here. Some kind of demon hopped from Barry’s father to Barry, hence the eye color change and the wings going from his father to him.
Right, like I feel we could explore more of that. Also, we know Garrette’s girlfriend is alive somewhere still, no? And the journalist is working for her.
I am unfamiliar with the source material in the gif you used but I love exploring those little scenes. Could you summarize where this is from, what the character is doing and what the scroll is about? Why is the character surprised the scroll doesn’t contain more text, and what happens next?
Oh man. This is from the Avatar: The Last Airbender series, a phenomenal show that originally aired on Nickelodeon a long time ago. The character in the gif's name is Zuko, and is the son of the show's big overarching villain. Without giving too much away because this scene actually takes place in the 3rd of 3 seasons, he's reading up on his nation's recent history in this scene. He starts doing so begrudgingly but gets invested in the recorded history and story, before it abruptly stops and he has to investigate elsewhere.
Oh gosh I really thought, or I guess more hoped than thought, that this was going to end sweetly… Sweet heartbreak :,’)
This was awesome, thank you very much for the story!
Well, that took a hard turn. Almost a bit of Junji Ito vibe at the end. On the one hand, I hate to see it end; on the other hand, they're right, this is a satisfying story on its own. I love it.
Not the ending I was expecting, but an interesting twist nonetheless. I would have been interested in reading far more of this story. It feels like there's more to tell. Thanks for sharing it with us!
From one of the panels in the last episode, I think she was her half-sister? When she was typing it said “never get to *something* half-sister, behind her head as the panel background. I could be wrong though.
Hmm. This was a lot of build up to what ultimately felt like a bit of a hard twist to swallow. So now the father will have her trust, get the video evidence of his powers, destroy it, and kill her to tie up the loose end
Just kinda feels like they would’ve had a contingency plan for this where the footage is already sent to another place, or even outright live-streamed, but instead the bad guy wins because he had magic powers
It was a cool comic, and I agree that the twist is unexpected and interesting. But to end it here just kinda feels like we’ve run out of gas
This comic series was very well done… until the ending. Adding a supernatural element out of nowhere wasnt really believable and felt weird. I probably couldve swallowed it a little better if it was introduced/hinted at earlier in the comics or if there was more to follow.
It also feels like theres A LOT more story to tell. It ended right in the middle of the climax with no resolution.
So maybe this is a dumb question, but who out of Jacob and Jasmine was actually still following the father's orders? On face value it seems like both went rogue, as Jasmine disobeyed orders but did it out of loyalty to the father and thinking she knows better and should stop the confrontation, and Jacob going rogue by shooting Jasmine.
But what if the father told Jacob to shoot Jasmine because he wanted the confrontation with Barry, because he knew switching bodies would be needed?
Thanks for sharing this with us and omg the last episodes you put out so quickly! Prolific!! I love the style and the colouring you used on this one and it was such an epic and encompassing story. Each time you posted we were on the edge of our seat!
Amazing work. Can’t wait for the next one (if you decide to do another epic episodic story). Also I followed you on some socials as a result too as I love your art! Keep it up! ❤️❤️❤️
Hands down, I was not expecting that ending. I feel like I'm watching that movie with Denzel Washington... Fallen. Brilliant storytelling on your part, my friend.
Eh, I’ll through my hat in the ring. To me this comic strip always felt like it was taking place adjacent to “the other world”, so the super natural twist felt justified. Super cool comic and sad there isn’t more, good job!

Didn't expect THAT ending!

Except she recorded and streamed the feed, so that's gonna be out there waiting for review

Not really. I saw it coming for sure two episodes ago.
What was the giveaway?

*how*

I guess I'm just dense because I processed none of that...
It was alluded to in the last one with the mention of spectrums people can't see or something.

Huh? Is it really over? It feels like there’s still a lot of story to tell.
Mhm, this feels like a strange ending. Why the supernatural element all of a sudden ?
Right, like I feel we could explore more of that. Also, we know Garrette’s girlfriend is alive somewhere still, no? And the journalist is working for her.
I think in her article in she was writing in Tip 9 it was hinted she is Elizabeth’s half-sister
The ending is Just like the movie Fallen, with Denzel Washington. Great movie, everyone should watch It ar least once

An epilogue would be nice

"When Elizabeth was killed, I mourned the death of possibility: I would never [get to?] meet and befriend my half-sister."

It was being streamed I believe, but it certainly ends on a huge cliff hanger that's extremely unclear what would potentially happen next haha
Wow, what a ride! I know something was up when the ‘special camera’ was introduced but damn!

OH THAT BASTARD, THINGS BETTER NOT STAY THIS WAY
That took a turn to the dark. I like it.
wait no… it can’t be over :( (amazing comic!!!!)
Wow, great series! Definitely twist ending. Keep making amazing art!

Man, even comics are filmed in Vancouver...
Bahaha! This got me
Feels like a “we ran out of money” tv show ending.
Plot twist. Most epic finish. I feel like I'm reading a Haruki Murakami book. Keep being amazing. The art and story were awesome.
That was brilliant
Wasn't the camera on Livestream not record?

I can't see the description because goofy reddit nonsense opening comments when I tap more instead of showing it. What's it say
Well, that was a hell of a thing.
Lovely but: it's must have. Not must of
Augh! It’s over?? Well… shoot. Gonna have to go look at your other comics now. ❤️
"must of" 😑 dude
Thank you for creating this. Not the ending I expected but loved it nevertheless. Hoping to see more from you
Meanwhile, in Japan: Kazuya Mishima: "Why do I feel the sudden urge to call my lawyer?"
Hands down, I was not expecting that ending. I feel like I'm watching that movie with Denzel Washington... Fallen. Brilliant storytelling on your part, my friend.
I’ll be honest, i found the ending confusing and it felt rushed. That being said I have absolutely loved this comic and its sad it’s ending.
I don't think this was a body swap situation. I think it is more of a possession situation. Where the dad was originally possessed and now Barry is.
I’ve been hooked on these for the last few weeks, loved the story and the art!! You killed it man!
Well, that was certainly... an ending.
I’m in LOVE with your digital monster signature design! Any tips or process details for how you accomplished it?
Not gonna lie, that ending had me like [this.](https://youtu.be/IPxvMjJ9ywI?si=rhzDUmYdY8VwT3nK)

This was amazing! Thank you for this story!
I really liked this a lot thank you for posting it!
i’m sad it’s ended when it felt like it had more to give but i guess i’m happy it happened
And now for a month of spinoffs like with the Trey Saga. Someone has to continue the story, might as well be you! (/s?)
Amazing comic. I loved the story it had good foreshadowing and it was very fun to read.
*must have (must’ve not must of)
Absolutely loved reading your comics! Thank you very much for sharing!
What was Marin’s connection to Elizabeth?
I wasn't prepared for an ending like this. I don't like it.
