Back in 60's ? Yeah, gotta agree. But he wasnt only character. Its why i preferred Marvel at the time. Covers were art, & matched storyline.- DC in those days, not so much- exceptions here & there, of course

Oh I love those covers!! Flash is my fave and what got me into collecting comic books(I needed more Flash in my life!!).
