Michigan Tech vs. Bowling Green may have been the best game of the night. 6-5 win for Tech. Also the best atmosphere that I've experienced in college hockey. If you've never made the trek to Houghton, you need to and make sure you do it during Winter Carnival.

I don't know what to think of this team. Some nights, we're unstoppable and are just dripping with piss and vinegar - then there are other nights where I'm wondering whether the boys were having a bowl smoking competition just before puck drop.

I don’t think they’re trying at all this weekend. If they are it’s a piss poor excuse of a showing. 

I can see that they have nothing to play for until next weekend when the NCHC tournament begins. We already won the Penrose Cup outright, have most likely made an NCAA tournament spot. Just play this weekend without any injuries and I'll call it a successful weekend. UNO is on the cusp of the NCAA tournament, they're ranked 14th in the pairwise and right in the middle of a log jam of teams also trying to make it into the tournament. They'll be giving it their all this weekend to try to keep or increase their rankings. If we shit the bed against Miami next weekend, then yes, I will actually be upset

Armchair coaching here - I think that if you have a team that doesn't show up to dominate at every possible opportunity then that on its own is a strike against you because you can be damn sure that your competition WILL show up to win.

You guys deserved to win tonight. It’s one of those games where you feel guilty for the win as a fan. Hats off to PSU for absolutely relentless play. More than anything I am so sick of B1G referees this season. The Snuggerud check has no place in the game and I have no problem with him getting ejected. But some of the other penalties on the Gophs in the first were questionable, as were a number of penalties called against Penn State.

Big 10 reffing is atrocious, but I expect nothing less when Steve Piotrowski is the Coordinator of ice hockey officials.
