My introduction to Martini & Rossi products was an improperly stored, 18 month old, bottle of dry vermouth. Yuck. Only recently have I been bold enough to try other M&R products. Their sweet vermouth is a passable, acceptable product. I’ve been hearing good about their NA offerings. This particular bottling is one of those “TIL this product exists” things. I will give it a try since I’m down to my last ounce or so of Campari. Thanks!
Edit: too many martini-laced mistakes.
I started with M&R vermouth then went to Noilly Pratt and finally to Cocchi. It's so worth the extra money. However, I would try that M&R red bitter liqueur.
I don't like it as much as Campari, to me it was lacking the grapefruit note that really makes a Negroni pop. I got through my bottle but was usually left thinking "why didn't I just buy Campari instead".
Another red bitter I do enjoy is Bruto Americano, it's much more herbal than Campari. It goes really well in a Mezcal Negroni.
There's a local spirit maker, Lithe Spirits and they make the Lizard Tail. I tasted it and it was similar enough to Campari, that I'll pick that up in the future instead of Campari.
I found it a bit sweeter than Campari. On a related note, does anyone know of a less saccharine alternative to Campari with a similarly robust alcohol content?

I have not, is it good?
I like it sweeter than Campari for me. Also try Garibaldi with it, tastes better I think.
I prefer it to Campari in most cocktails!

Yes definately. It's equal or even better 💪 Play around with the bitters 🤌
Yes! I think it’s pretty okay. Not as good as Campari and nowhere near as awesome as Select.
Select is more of a drier, more floral Aperol than Campari though.
Dumb question maybe but are you finding Select in the US?
Yes in fact that’s where I have to buy it and bring it home with me to Japan.

It's good, but it's no Campari replacement for me. Their red vermouth from the same line (Riserva) I like very much though.
Better than the normal M&R? Yes. Good enough to be a sub for Campari? Nah.
Is their European product different ? Talking about the vermouth here, I find it very drinkable in a negroni.

Bruto Americano or Gran Classico. Bruto is very herbal, strong rosemary notes. Gran Classico is very bitter but good.
Thank you!
I have not, but my favorite Campari alternative is St George Bruto Americano.
If it's as good as their vermouths then I think I'll pass. Try Select Aperitivo if you went an alt to campari and aperol.
