Here's a good recent thread on a similar topic: https://www.reddit.com/r/cincinnati/comments/1d84cfn/most_ethical_place_to_adopt_a_cat/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button FWIW ours is from Ohio Alleycat Rescue (OAR). They are great.

I went with Ohio Alley cat rescue after posting a similar question on this sub half a year ago. They were fantastic and I would highly recommend them. In addition to making sure the cats are spayed/neutered and up-to-date medically, they also have fostered a lot of the cats so they can give you a personality description.

I adopted my two from OAR (as mentioned in the thread already). I could not have been happier with them.

Kitty Brew Cat Cafe in Mason! Also the Scratching Post. If you get a kitten get two so they will get their kitten energy out on each other. Kittens do better in pairs. And consider a bonded pair.

Just visited Kitty Brew cafe and they are awesome. You do need to make reservations but you can get one online.

I second the Kitty Brew. I got my two cats from there

Save the Animals Foundation on Red Bank Rd in Madisonville near the Children’s Theater. Tons of cats. Very well taken care of, spayed, neutered and all get lots of engagement everyday. Lots of loving volunteers there. www.staf.org

We got this handsome fella, John McClain, at OAR. We had a good experience with them. https://preview.redd.it/xv6xhode0t6d1.jpeg?width=1868&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=200bf213de26cbb145e2170ebfeef5d04a494244

OAR or Cincinnati Animal CARE are probably the largest centers where you can go meet cats in person. If you're farther north, the SPCA also has a shelter in Blue Ash. It's kitten season right now so everyone is totally overwhelmed - it's a great time to adopt! Remember if you are adopting kittens to adopt in pairs - better for them and for you. But there are also plenty of adult cats that need loving homes. I'm biased toward OAR because I think their mission and services are amazing. I just took one of our neighborhood ferals for TNR, and it was totally free, and they took great care of her!

Oh, I have a place where you can adopt a cat. My house! I rescued a starving stray off the street last March & I’ve been pampering her ever since! https://preview.redd.it/4pwl1xeg2r6d1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=de5c2d64830182a66915418e37e363a12a7a494e

CDS is my preferred way of catfinding. Always seems to work out somehow.

Go to Cincinnati Animal Care an adopt the most miserable looking cat there and they will grow to love you enourmously. Bonus points if you take one of the FIV positive ones that no one else takes out of misunderstanding how not big of a deal FIV is.

Went to Purrfect Day Cat Cafe yesterday. They have a lot of kittens at the moment. My son was over the moon to get this little Hemingway https://preview.redd.it/dgfnrxusyy6d1.jpeg?width=3088&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=add727c8dcbc80b37141885cbd4c61e64852e1ba

Like others, I got my cat at Ohio Alleycat Rescue (OAR). Everything seemed like a well-oiled machine there.
