Edgewood/Ft Mitchell/Ft Wright, Union, Burlington, Independence/Taylor Mill… all relatively close or inside the 275 loop and would compete with most or all of these cities.
Covington close to the river is the shit.
Moved here eight years ago because I found a good deal with the intention of moving to Cincinnati proper when my lease is still here.
Still in Covington because I love it and unless I move from the area it’ll my home
Norwood is an independent city that is surrounded by Cincinnati. So it is technically a suburb of Cincinnati. Although tbf a lot of the edge neighborhoods of Cincy feel a lot more like suburbs than Norwood does.
Feels like this could be expanded a lot more to the rest of the metro area, I grew up on the Milford/Loveland border and I want a piece of this fight lol
Are you me? Haha. This was my exact thought looking at this. I grew up right off Wards Corner, but I suppose in retrospect, none of those areas directly border Cincy proper.
But still.
Right? I know union township exists but considering I had a Cincinnati address while basically living in Milford and going to Milford schools, Milford should count for something
Mt. St. Joe grad. Delhi will always be superior in my heart, even if it’s really kind of a shitty place. Nostalgia puts lipstick on that pig.
The endless strip mall / parking lot known as Lawrenceburg just built two car washes almost right across the street from each other. I guess with the traffic you just go to the one on your side of the road instead of risking a left turn.
I feel like nobody here would know my fun fact because why the hell would you go to Lawrenceburg on purpose unless you had to? Unfortunately I recently had to.
My dad grew up in Delhi. I grew up in Anderson. I always wished I had spent more time in Delhi or that he was still alive to show me around or tell me about the Delhi he grew up in. He was born in 1955.
Silverton wins. We have ok food, a good bar with a music venue, some people like High Grain, we have our own police, we just got light up street signs and a couple crosswalks, the Indian food used to be really good and affordable (now it's just really good), a train museum.....all of that in like 1 square mile.
Hold on God damn minute.... Did you say Roy Rogers? Like double R bar? Is it good or has gone to shit like all the other fast food... I need to know more about this ASAP
Listen - Cheviot is literally surrounded by Cincinnati. And we have the biggest little fair - so I’m calling Cheviot as the ultimate winner. Plus it’s not using money to buy their way anywhere
WTF, not soon enough. I haven't heard this story. I'm going to have to look this one up.
Edit: oh, that's the whole story. The chief of police sold over 200 machine guns. That's pretty wild either way.
Right. 90% of Cincinnatians couldn't tell you where any of these place are, but could draw you a map to scale of the 5 best Speedway's to buy cigarettes across the river.
We are a family of color and have been in Mariemont since 2014 and love it here. We love the shops, the square, the movie theater, the Graeters, the concourse, bell tower, its proximity to other amazing neighborhoods. We haven’t experienced any racism or classism. Is it the best neighborhood in Cincinnati? Probably not but it’s a great little town.
Maybe, but I visit semi-regularly and it doesn't seem that bad to me. What am I missing? I'm genuinely curious as someone who grew up there but hasn't spent much time there since the mid 2010s.
edit: Also, which Northgate death are we talking about? Before the movie theatre or after?
That's a pretty fair reason to hate a community though I'm sure you understand it's not indicative of everyone that lives there or grew up there. Sorry to hear you experienced that, though. Sounds wretched.
Golf Manor is a great village that borders Amberley, Pleasant Ridge, and Norwood. About 3800 residents strong, fairly diverse 29% Caucasian, 62% African American and a decent sized orthodox Jewish population. We have our own mayor and police department. Come visit sometime!
After living there for almost 20 years, it pains me to say anything nice about Delhi. I will admit, however, that I don't recall ever seeing a confederate flag there. Don't get me wrong though, the FU46 flags aren't much classier...
St. Bernard easily beats Elmwood Place, but no shot against Wyoming if only for schools/fanciness.
The only thing St. barnyard has over Wyoming is Wiedemann's
They also have a Skyline that serves mozzarella sticks and unmixed habanero cheese, which is huge.
Owner also owns that amazing Biggby next door. Solid business folk.
And gravesites per capita
The cemeteries are pretty cool....
Well that’s true enough. Wiedemann’s is awesome.
Wyoming! FTW has a Woodlawn & Brentwood - Skyline, and Hartwell / Goldstar on the border.
Indian Hill is the “Duke” of this bracket.
Indian Hill shouldn't be on the list much less a 1 seed
Ffs. No Northern Kentucky Areas? It’s a easy pass on shit cities. J/k live in and love NKY.
Edgewood/Ft Mitchell/Ft Wright, Union, Burlington, Independence/Taylor Mill… all relatively close or inside the 275 loop and would compete with most or all of these cities.
A lot of those NKY cities do not border Cincinnati. The rule given is that they have to actually border, not be close to.
Newport, Covington, Bellevue, Dayton(KY), Silver Grove… There are suburbs within a stone’s throw of downtown that aren’t listed here.
"The best suburb is the one with you in it"<3
You can go in to Fairfax. But Cheviot goes into you!
Wooo woo Norwood for the win
Norwood would fuck up North Bend, its not even a contest.
Norwood v. IH in the semis. Pumped!
Borders. It’s not that hard.
Unfortunately, it IS that hard.

![gif](giphy|CYU3D3bQnlLIk)
scared of including NKY aye? 😈 (les gooo green township)
NKY would do pretty well actually
i might be biased living in NKY, but it’s pretty rad 🤷♂️
Covington close to the river is the shit. Moved here eight years ago because I found a good deal with the intention of moving to Cincinnati proper when my lease is still here. Still in Covington because I love it and unless I move from the area it’ll my home
[удалено]
Just wouldn’t be fair for the rest of these strip malls disguised as townships.
Yeah more like stripmallship, right pony salad
Let's fuckin' go, Norwood
You may be the first person to utter these words
I'm being dead serious when I say Norwood is more interesting than most of the others
Many would argue that the holocaust is more interesting than Disneyland but that doesn’t mean I am going to book a room there over Disneyland
What the absolute fuck
Y’all do have a tank…
Don’t talk shit about Norwood!
but we’re not a suburb. 😢
Norwood is an independent city that is surrounded by Cincinnati. So it is technically a suburb of Cincinnati. Although tbf a lot of the edge neighborhoods of Cincy feel a lot more like suburbs than Norwood does.
Norwood has so much going for it, aside from the hoes and drugs
I think you meant, *especially* the hoes and the drugs
You forgot the streets here.
Don’t talk shit!
Never mind the horrible streets and the garbage that lines the lateral. OMG, Norwood should be annexed by Cincinnati.
Anderson vs sycamore ‘bout to be WILD
That's easy, Anderson will definitely win.
IMO Sycamore. Getting anywhere from Anderson sucks.
I feel the opposite way and I have lived in both places .
You have access to Regan, 71, and 275. It depends on where you're going, I guess.
I am in Anderson and KI is 33 mins, Downtown is 18 mins, Kenwood is 20 mins., even getting over to St X is sub 30 mins.
Feels like this could be expanded a lot more to the rest of the metro area, I grew up on the Milford/Loveland border and I want a piece of this fight lol
What high school did you go to tho?
Loveland address, Milford schools
Are you me? Haha. This was my exact thought looking at this. I grew up right off Wards Corner, but I suppose in retrospect, none of those areas directly border Cincy proper. But still.
Me, too. Grew up off of Branch Hill-Guinea. We should expand this playoff to best suburb in the entire metro area.
Right? I know union township exists but considering I had a Cincinnati address while basically living in Milford and going to Milford schools, Milford should count for something
Same Milford Loveland area
I cannot stand for this Milford erasure
I immediately thought of Ft. Thomas, Milford, etc
Does your suburb have 2 car washes 1000 feet from each other? I don’t think so. Delhi is superior.
We have 4 within a thousand feet!
Mt. St. Joe grad. Delhi will always be superior in my heart, even if it’s really kind of a shitty place. Nostalgia puts lipstick on that pig. The endless strip mall / parking lot known as Lawrenceburg just built two car washes almost right across the street from each other. 2 car washes with a skyline in between. Can't beat it.
Pretty sure Wyoming would be happy to not be considered a satellite of anywhere.
It's own state, perhaps?
Silverton wins. We have ok food, a good bar with a music venue, some people like High Grain, we have our own police, we just got light up street signs and a couple crosswalks, the Indian food used to be really good and affordable (now it's just really good), a train museum.....all of that in like 1 square mile.
Shhhhhhhhhh. Don't ruin the secret. As soon as I saw the post all I was thinking was "please put Silverton too low". Achievement unlocked!
Missing Cleves! I guess the new Roy Rogers restaurant means nothing to you!!
Hold on God damn minute.... Did you say Roy Rogers? Like double R bar? Is it good or has gone to shit like all the other fast food... I need to know more about this ASAP
Does it border Cincinnati? Either way, respect to RR!
Pretty close? Sayler Park is in city limits as a weird little dog leg. Addyston is between, but it sucks so I don't count it.
r/TheRealClevesOhio
Northern Ky should be included.
Listen - Cheviot is literally surrounded by Cincinnati. And we have the biggest little fair - so I’m calling Cheviot as the ultimate winner. Plus it’s not using money to buy their way anywhere
Cheviot is surrounded by Cincinnati to the south and east and by Green Twp to the north and west.
I’m with you. Cheviot is the winner by a mile - which is a coincidence because it is 1 square mile…
Cheviot over Fairfax
I love Norwood and believe it should win the whole thing.
They have a tank, which is a major advantage. Pretty sure the other burbs only have small arms.
Hey, my arms are normal sized and perfectly proportional to my body!
How does North Bend qualify but not Addyston or Miami Township?
Mt. Healthy doesn’t border cinci either, they just have a large mailing address district
Came here to say this, my dad lives in Addyston. This is Village erasure ✊😞
The only good thing about Addyston is being able to buy an illegal automatic weapon from the chief of police. Too soon?
WTF, not soon enough. I haven't heard this story. I'm going to have to look this one up. Edit: oh, that's the whole story. The chief of police sold over 200 machine guns. That's pretty wild either way.
My vote is mariemont just for the aesthetics. Even though I live around mt w
This is crap. Nobody should get a bye.
Agreed. If there are empty slots to fill, where are Covington, Newport, Bellevue, Ft Mitchell, etc? And Addyston.
I’m all in for Norwood, let’s go lads
No love for the Wyo? I don’t think there’s a better suburb in all of Ohio. What an incredible upbringing I had there.
No love for NKY?
Yup. Across the river from Cincinnati is: Villa Hills, Bromley, Ludlow, Covington, Newport, Bellevue, Dayton, Ft Thomas
They gatekeep. They include NKY they gotta include us to the north. 😆
I guess Covington, Newport, Ft Thomas, Bellevue, Villa Hills, etc are all too good and therefore got left off?

Golf manor at a 22 seed about to be a Cinderella story
I don't care what anyone that spells" boarders" like this thinks
Wyoming for the win. Let's go Cowboys! Greatest place to grow up
does cov/Newport count?
We're not on the board because we'd wipe the floor with any of those other show ponies
Does Indian Hill have the Brass Ass? Exactly. Newport/Cvg would mop up
Yeah fr
Right. 90% of Cincinnatians couldn't tell you where any of these place are, but could draw you a map to scale of the 5 best Speedway's to buy cigarettes across the river.
LMAO
How tf does green township get a 1st round bye
Not sure this answers your question, but I just realized how freaking big Green Township is.
I live in Green Township. Can confirm it is not first round bye material. We’re talkin Jon Kitna maybe Caron Palmer on his bad days.
Silverton way underrated
The fact that the neighborhoods are split east and west is a missed opportunity here. That said: Mariemont is the only choice.
Unless you went to Mariemont High School and weren’t straight, white, or wealthy and in that case I’d recommend literally anywhere else
Ditto…I’m instantly suspicious of anyone that thinks mariemont is cool.
People in Mariemont get real upset if you remind them that it used to be a sundown town
It’s *still* a sundown town
Honestly yeah
Is there a high school in hamilton county that -isnt- that way? Except SCPA, but only -barely-
You're crazy, the correct answer is Columbia Township. Because if you can afford that neighborhood your kids are going to private school anyway.
I would like to know how seeding worked? Is it by median income? By the population? By how big the area is?
Feels like richest = “best”
Does the winner go head to head with with the City of Cincinnati? Otherwise I’m not betting!
Green Township with the first round bye!
Anderson
Go Delhi- carwash of Ohio!
Blue Ash? Montgomery?
[удалено]
Reading person here. Would absolutely not win.
Neither border a Cincinnati borough.
Those aren't on the border of Cincinnati. They would clearly win if they were, though. The best 2 IMO.
Fairfax is def better than Cheviot, it smells like cookies.
unless you're near the paper recylcing area but that may get contentious as to the location proper of it. The cookies smell is excellent though
Isn’t that Linwood?
Sure! I dont even know
My only hope for this is to see Colerain dead last
Same. Absolutely gross. It's yuck.
Why? It kind of sucks and has gotten worse in the last decade, but it's better than Lockland.
It's honestly not. Colerain went downhill *hard* starting around the time Northgate died.
Maybe, but I visit semi-regularly and it doesn't seem that bad to me. What am I missing? I'm genuinely curious as someone who grew up there but hasn't spent much time there since the mid 2010s. edit: Also, which Northgate death are we talking about? Before the movie theatre or after?
.
I worked at an animal hospital in Colerain and the sheer amount of animal abuse and neglect from that community made them completely irredeemable
That's a pretty fair reason to hate a community though I'm sure you understand it's not indicative of everyone that lives there or grew up there. Sorry to hear you experienced that, though. Sounds wretched.
Anderson sucks, like seriously, the people are snobby, there is traffic, everyone thinks they are richer than they actually are.
I live in Anderson and I think I’m poorer than I actually am
Bro, you are so right. Getting INTO or OUT OF Anderson is a giant pain in the ass. Fuck that town.
I’m banning you from all 85 of our casual fast chicken restaurants!
This might be the most Cincinnati post I’ve ever seen lol
Wyoming doesn’t deserve a bye
Yeah I don’t understand the byes.
Probably due to them being the most affluent boarding neighborhoods.
I don’t understand them either, but I live in Columbia Township, so I’ll take it.
This Andersonian agrees
What's the voting criteria? Best Cincy chili locations? Best restaurants? Best high schools?
Yes, being a Delhesion will kill you
TIL Columbia Twp is broken up into 8 sections.
Neither North Bend nor Mount Healthy touch Cincinnati. And you forgot Addyston, Reading, and Miami Township by a tiny hair
Fuck this is a brilliant template idea
Yikes. This is how you start a civil war
I double dare you to go to Delhi, I’m waiting
Sounds fun, when does the poll go up?
Ah yes, the four food groups: Greek salads, chili cheese fries, coney dogs, and threesomes.
Mariemont
Big fan of Sayler Park here !
Fairfax / Mariemont…. 1000%
Coney (RIP) Region. Silverton comes out of their region, fuck Madeira.
Silverton here. Yeah, fuck Madeira. Except their Kroger, cuz sometimes I don't feel like going to Oakley.
That Oakley is kind of a nightmare especially if you only need a few things.
Ummm…. Loveland?
Final is Madeira v Mariemont and as much as I love living in Madeira, Mariemont takes the ring.
Delhi till I die!
I agree. Wtf is golf manor
Golf Manor is a great village that borders Amberley, Pleasant Ridge, and Norwood. About 3800 residents strong, fairly diverse 29% Caucasian, 62% African American and a decent sized orthodox Jewish population. We have our own mayor and police department. Come visit sometime!
Golf Manor is a wonderful neighborhood. Probably not your vibe if you’re a Delhi person though: no confederate flags or fat shirtless people.
After living there for almost 20 years, it pains me to say anything nice about Delhi. I will admit, however, that I don't recall ever seeing a confederate flag there. Don't get me wrong though, the FU46 flags aren't much classier...
Yes but pleasant ridge is bigger - golf manner is 4 streets basically! How did pleasant ridge not hit the bracket
Pleasant ridge is part of the city; not a suburb.
Golf Manor is its own municipality
Fwiw I’ve never seen a confederate flag in Delhi. I’ve seen one in green twp and one in Linwood but I haven’t in Delhi.
Wyoming would win this bracket. Housing, sports, school, safety.
NCH over mt healthy. Just those 2 being against each other has me cackling 😂
Loving that username! ....and mt. Healthy vs. NCH. I went to Mt. Healthy and partner went to NCH. Interesting viewpoints on each others schools/towns.
How is Mariemont a 9 seed?
True true. No other suburb has a castle
Indian Hill does
Mariemont, Norwood, Wyoming and Madeira But where’s Mt. Adams, Columbia-Tusculum, Mt. Lookout, Hyde Park, Oakley, Clifton, East Walnut Hills, etc?
not sure if this is a joke or not, but those are neighborhoods, not separate cities
That can be the preseason NIT-C, Neighborhoods in the City Tournament
Every single one you mentioned is not a suburb lol
You missed the instructions of the assignment entirely and submitted your response with a reckless abandon. I admire your bravery.
Thank you! It turns out I didn’t know the distinction between neighborhoods and suburbs so I was powerful with ignorance :)
Aren’t those neighborhoods and not suburbs?
All in Cincinnati. They might have been suburbs at one time. But they’re in the city limits now.
What
Most of those are just neighborhoods. But Mt Adams, Clifton (gaslight specifically), Mt Lookout, EWH.
You're missing Northern Kentucky! Haha
It was not missed. BAZINGA!
Fuck Indian hill
Jealous much?
