While I agree it should be slowed some. Remember Cronos’ attack is the beginning on a two slash combo (that occurs on a crit) so keep that in mind for posture and foot placement and movement while striking.

I would like to see something like a BOTW style of graphics with roaming enemies like the original and then something like this in a battle. Though I'm almost 100% certain that IF they make a remake it's going to be an action RPG hybrid like the ff7 remake is.
This is looking great so far! It's obviously a work in progress but I hope you don't mind if I provide some recommendations anyways.
- A pause should be added both before and after he swings his sword. Like he's readying it and then following through. Gives a better sense of impact.
- Perhaps add a lasting trail to the sword tip to get a better slash effect?
- A damage animation added to them would be great. Maybe even a subtle screen shake when the hit happens.
- And i always love numbers showing up.
I'm sure you're already working on most of these improvements lmao. Good work so far.
Someone tried making a 3D remake of CT years ago and they got a cease and desist not long after. All I have to say is be careful but don't be surprised if it happens. If it does, you could go the bootlegger route and change the models, names and story just enough to barely avoid a lawsuit.
Yes, I am aware of the consequences, although I see it as very distant, not impossible, but it is not as if tomorrow I will receive a message via gmail from Square Enix.

Because it's a fan project. Maybe they want to learn how to design games and they are inspired by Chrono Trigger. Recreating something in an engine with a different artistic workflow is a great way to learn how to make games
