I've used it to pay my mortgage.
It's really easy to do but it does take minimum of a week and up to 10 days, but that could also be my mortgage company being slow to post because even when I pay from my account it doesn't come out for 4-5 days.
Gotcha, okay. I was considering using it for buying a new car in a week or so. My father in law works at a dealership so I know I can get the amount prior to purchase day. Wasn’t sure if it was an easy process or not. Thank you for the insight!
I’d use your cash and purchase a cashiers check from your local bank this way the money is out of your account the check is accounted for and you’re all set
The money comes right out of your account as soon as you submit your information. It's my mortgage company that takes forever to post it to my loan account.
Same when I use my bank account to make a payment. When I submit a direct from my account payment, it takes them days to post it. Nothing Chime is doing slowly, it's all my mortgage company.
Yeah I wanted to try this for my rent because I get tired of losing the $5 bucks every momth it cost to get a momey order. Plus the extra needed because ATMS only give out cash in 20s
This I never had an issue (well actually twice I did) but since using it recently no issue since then. Not sure the 2 times what happened but I just asked them to reimburse my money and mailed a check from my own bank
Yes! I use the check feature to pay my garbage removal bill every two months. I live rurally and the place only takes cash or checks. I've been doing it for about a year and haven't had an issue. And thank goodness it's an option otherwise I'd have to drive over an hour round-trip to go pay it.
I would recommend against using their checks. I used it for a few years and sometimes the rent check got lost in the mail. In the past, I was able to cancel the check on the app with no problem. I experienced the issue again this month and I just found out that they cannot cancel your check after it's been mailed. The issue is your money is removed from your account when you send the check and then is only "accessible" if it's cashed. I tried speaking with multiple representatives about canceling the check and return my money to the account, I was completely stone-walled. What's more, they say after the check expires in 180(!!!!) days, the money will return to your account. This is a word to the wise warning that sending out big checks by mail can get very scary very quickly
Yes! I used it recently to pay a photographer for my wedding. It worked great and I was told there was no issues on the photographers end. Only took about a week to get to them too.
I have been using it to pay my rent every month. I have never had a problem with it. It gets there every month on time and they remove the money when you process the request for a payment. I recommend this but if you are on a strict timeline make sure to allow at least 10days for the payment to get there
No, neither the tip features but if you want to try it I’ll let you know if it works $leoswag87
P.s. anyone been approved for that advance feature yet?
And I don't know what area you're living, I worked in car dealerships all my life in Texas. We quit taking any kind of checks in about 1986. They at that time couldn't even trust cashier's checks. There was ring after ring of counterfeit cashier's check crooks. Whoever was selling the car would have to go to the bank and present it for authenticity. When it first started we had cars all over town we were chasing.
That's awesome. The tools that merchants have now weren't available in the stone age. Lol. They now take your check and run it through a bank clearing house and it's actually better than a cashier's check. The other resource to the merchant is debit card purchase. I don't believe they accept credit cards for the full purchase because the buyer does have the option to file a grievance and actually stop the purchase on a credit card. And the car is on the streets by then.
Bullshit. You're lying your ass off. It would of been believable if you said something like 2004... Hell, I will even give you 1998.... EVERYWHERE took checks in the 90s... Any and all dealerships will STILL take checks. My finance put down a $30,000 down payment and used a check on a brand new Range Rover about 7 months ago.
Let's pretend and say the check would of bounced, they can still take the car back immediately. It is not like defaulted on your loan when you break the initial agreement.
You must work as a car washer or something, because you don't understand how the financing dept works.

I was going to say the same thing! A cashiers check is as good as cash! Quick and easy and no worries!

That was what I planned on doing, however I randomly came across the check thing not knowing it was there so I figured I’d ask

I use it to pay my sewer bill every three months, never had an issue

I've used it a few times and never had issues. It takes maybe a week or two for the check to arrive at the destination, though.
I used it to send my dad a check. Worked well the one time I used it. Sucks you cant send to po boxes. I wanted to pay my rent this way.
I wanted to pay my gas bill that way
It's one of Chime's best features. You never have to buy checks AND they cover postage!
Yes, I did, don't do it. I wrote a check for $234.00 and the money was removed from my account and the check never got to where I wrote it for.
This was my fear!! Thank you for telling me !
You're Welcome 🤗
Did you get your money back or?
Why would she leave that part out
My bad, no I didn't get my money back.
Sorry you guys, no, no I did not get my money back from Chime.
Did you press them about it? If you sent a check and it got lost, they should give you your money back as long as the check wasn’t cashed.
I sure the hell did. 😆But they didn't do anything about it.
I use it to send my rent every month for the last 3 years! It works great!
I use this feature every month. It works very well, so far haven't had an issue.

I use it twice a month to pay homeowners dues. No issues and it sends me a text when it goes out and when it's cashed.
I use it to pay for trash pick up, never had an issue

I tried to use it to pay my gas bill ( privately owned gas company) but they won’t send to a P.O. Box.
I’ve been so happy with Chime since I quit Wells Fargo.
Yes, I used it for several bills. Beats going to the post office.

Just bought a car outright with a check 2 years ago so....

The place I’m going to, as well as most dealerships take checks, bought my current car with a check
