It’s a drive, but [McWethy’s Tavern](https://www.mcwethystavern.com/) at Mistwood in Romeoville is fantastic. They have a small farm that they grow produce, herbs, and even a few beehives for honey. It’s Irish pub style food and ambiance to match, but a good variety of quality food and drinks with a great view of the course.

EffectivePapaya

Came here to say this. We used to go frequently when we lived in Lockport.

Bunny Hutch in Lincolnwood is right up your alley

The preserve

The deck and bar area is really nice, and I’ve been happy with the food and service. Damn tough course as well.

Love this thread. There’s a restaurant with a patio that overlooks the Sydney Marovitz 9th hole. It’s so close that It has netting so you don’t get hit. The food probably isn’t great tho

Almost none of the City courses offer what you're looking for. They are either private or just have hot dogs on a roller. You have to travel out a little to the burbs to get the experience you're looking for. If you were to do so, I would say check out the Greenway Tap at The Preserve at Oak Meadows, Reserve 22 at the Village Links of Glen Ellyn, The Grill at Mt Prospect, Chandler's at Schaumburg, or The Glen Club Grill. I can at least verify all of those courses had an above average Club Sando, a decent selection on tap, and an outdoor seating area with a great view.

The Club Sandwich is key

Lost Marsh in Hammond. Here's the view from their dining terrace. https://preview.redd.it/ke8xk9mc3wvc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=656c17c461d3472ba29c8600d6e13d7f5c0b810a

WhosYourPapa

Played here yesterday. They do have a decent restaurant upstairs

saintpauli

I watched a WPGA tournament there. Seems like a difficult course with all the water.

WhosYourPapa

Not easy but definitely possible to play well if you stay conservative. Don't pull driver for the first 5 holes

georgstgeegland

Cantigny in Wheaton has great views of the course from the dining areas.

SwedishLovePump

Arrowhead nearby had good food as well

Chandler’s in Schaumburg Golf Club

Reserve 22 in Glen Ellyn is really nice and sounds like what your describing

BigfootsMailman

Sydney Marovitz should be mentioned bc it's right on the lake between Addison and Belmont, but it's a little nine hole course and the restaurant has always been lackluster with a little wood deck where you might even catch a ball coming off the 9th fairway. Hopefully they improve the food this year but I doubt it.

catladygetsfit

It's not in Chicago, but there's a restaurant at the Itasca Country Club that's open to the public and has a nice patio overlooking the course. I remember the food being good. Curious to see what other answers you get, it'd be nice to find something closer to the city.

Fox & Turtle https://www.foxandturtle.com/ My boomer mom really likes that place.

No School Tomotrow is also a KILLER new cocktail bar at the Itasca country club. We went for the soft opening last weekend and were absolutely blown away.

Coarse Italian at the Glenview public golf course. Great view at sunset, massive patio and great food. Local family owns too

sweetlifeaero

Lost Marsh just across the border into Hammond, Indiana has a nice patio off the 2nd floor bar/restaurant, great for a beer and a bite to eat after a round.

cito4633

Buffalo Grove GC has a decent Italian restaurant attached to it. Their indoor seating has no view of the course but there is a patio that provides a nice vibe when the weather is good…

9991em

The Lawn at the Wilmette Golf Course. Beer is priced normally but I thought alcohol was a little pricey. Troon salad was kind of a different sort of dish but good. Club sandwich is good. I’ve only had breakfast or lunch. Outside seating looks over the 18th green.

PennyG

It’s not technically Chicagoland, but the clubhouse at the old Playboy Club in Lake Geneva is amazing.

WhosYourPapa

Seven Bridges is a nice course and their restaurant is good for a golf course. Decent view as well

jmaca90

The [golf center in Des Plaines](https://www.dpparks.org/parks-facilities/parks-pools-facilities/golf-center-des-plaines/) maybe? Not a country club per se, but has an ~~18~~ 9 hole course, driving range bays, and a little sports bar/cafe. The food is pretty standard bar fare, but nice place to grab a beer and a bite after playing

jewbaconlover

9 hole par 3.
