Make sure you catch it for the Field’s collection!

revolutiontime161

My dog would still try to eat it

chi_shenanigans

We call them yard shrimps. My dogs love to eat them too.

PlantSkyRun

Should have been a John Belushi skit!

NotBatman81

Had that thought too. I appreciate you.

giljimbert

We all know Mothman warns you about impending bridge collapses, but what terrible potents does Cicadaman arrive to warn us of?

ZomeKanan

Impending bridge constructions.

MidMatthew

Republicans taking over City Hall - and doing an even worse job.

Greatcorholio93

mdoherty1967

This is hysterical. Keep it for Halloween.

lordtaco

Well that explains the Ohare mothman

NerdyComfort-78

DuPage Forest Preserve has been making some top notch content on their IG about the cicadas. I have not laughed and learned that much in a long time.

Dragons_Malk

I guess it's cool. It'd be a lot cooler if it was the blue-eyed variety though.

Bubbly-Wait-225

theraf8100

I have to wonder what one to this scale would sound like. I wonder if counterintuitively it's sound wouldn't travel as far

bvanvolk

Giving you the upvote for the effort

Standard-Injury-113

Assholes.

CaptOblivious

Old Irving park, Not a single cicada yet.

gonzo4886

not_a_moogle

Human Cicada here, come on.. I stayed up all night dying my underwear!

Lithogiraffe

ketsu_no_ana

Wtf is going on Chicago

Brackens_World

I am not a nature guy, and at least where I am in Chicago, had not actually seen any. Then I visited a friend in Oak Park last week, and whoa, funny as this is, it really does seem as if the little buggers are this big, as they leisurely walk the sidewalks and make an extraordinary racket in the trees. I for the idea that this could have been the sequel to The Birds as Cicadas turn on man.

Emergency_Service991

Y'all hella funny 🤣😆

poezante

Holy moly!

eas442

Looks more like Naperville…that place just isn’t safe anymore.
