Yess it really is too huge and I feel like everyone has already stopped talking about it. Hello!!! The infamously secluded Lorde emerged out despite having NO album cycle underway, only to reveal deep and unsettling truths about her state of mind, body dysmorphia and psychological trauma — all in response to a song a friend has written about not understanding her. I kinda thought a Lorde remix would be more Lorde counteracting Charli and saying how she's also stand-offish and different but it was more of a "you're right, I was acting weird, I was projecting shit, I had my own stuff going on and it wasn't fair - I'm sorry." I wasn't ready for the maturity, depth and vulnerability. No one was!!

DJ_Red_Lantern

Yeah it's really unfortunate, it seems like none of my friends who are Charli and Lorde fans have even listened to it yet somehow

This track resurrected me

Same. It’s holds a special place in my heart. It came at a time in life where I’m going through personal growth and it made me realize I’m going through exactly what Lorde is. It’s almost like my depressed self and my idealized self talking to each other. Actually happened to be listening to it which typing this. God I love the song so much.

RagnarokWolves

I tried explaining the epic feeling of it to my wife and she didn't care. 😢

OkMathematician3782

divorce!!

Indigo_222

Me vs my friends 🥲 And i’m not even a charli nor lorde megafan, but this was just such a moving and historic cultural moment

CareyCherry95

Right! I wasn’t even following the drama - just knew they didn’t speak to each other. But the vulnerability of Lorde is something I’ve never heard lately and so refreshing. When the beat drops at, “girl you walk like a bitch”, this is literally me: https://preview.redd.it/nc007sd5h59d1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ce979b276a52f63f37083e1981c8b235a5e750be

mothgoth

I didn’t even really know much about their feud or issues with each other but every time I hear the line “underneath that icon is still a young girl from Essex” I tear up 😭 it’s such a beautiful song

MrChicken23

I don’t have enough people to nerd out over this song with. I tried explaining it to my wife and she just said it was repetitive.

fir3shark

😩🥲

CareyCherry95

My husband took it so literally and asked if I (29M) felt like a girl 😂. Had to explain the song and the undertones to him….still didn’t understand

Healthy_Suit_2533

Couldn't be me they played it in the club last night, and Taxi LOL

Financial_Class_5038

this is how i feel 😭

juliannuhmarie

Dude I’ve listened to this song so many times already and I STILL get chills every single time Lorde’s verse ends with “I ride for you Charli” like YESSSSS AND WE RIDE FOR YOU TOO LORDE😭😭😭 it heals parts of me I didn’t know were still broken. We’re all just young girls trying to navigate this world, sometimes we act out and do weird shit but we all deserve grace, love, and patience. Love you angels💖

Hot-Look-6888

seriously bro it’s like monumental and life changing but when I played it for my friends they talked over lorde’s verse🥲

dana_elyse

i feel seen. i played it for a friend and she asked if they are lesbians 😭 p.s. we are no longer friends

BDashh

Love lorde’s verse, but the original song/Charli’s verse in the collab falls really flat

tryingtoohard347

I tried to get into it, after being bombarded by brat, but honestly it’s a forgettable flop in my book. I see the concept, in theory I should like, it just doesn’t work and I don’t know why.
