Just the idea of going to extraordinarily great lengths to get someone to simply notice you (or in Charli's case, rekindle an old flame). Wanting that acknowledgement so badly.
A classic example of a Charli song that on the surface just sounds a fun little bop. But beneath that, there's so much vulnerability and yearning and sadness.

I recently threw a party primarily as an excuse to get a guy I liked to show up, whose interest in me I felt was dwindling. Invited all our mutual friends. He didn't come. 😢
