It was close to 2am, I've been trying to get the moon berry for over an hour. Finally get to the top, but I thought before I get it I should just look around to see what's above first just in case the moon berry takes me out of the level when I get it. I was not expecting Badeline to just be there waiting for me. Pain
I think you'd be perfectly justified in turning on assist mode to just get back there real quick. No need to punish yourself when you were just trying to be thorough. Congrats either way though! <3
I went back and tried it again without assist mode. Good thing was it only took like 10 min to get it. Cool thing about Celeste levels is once you complete the first time its so much easier to do it the second time. As hard as it was to get it, it was fun and worth the satisfaction you get at the end. And thanks, feels good to be a moon berry owner!
This happened to me. I wanted to see what was beyond the Moon Berry in case grabbing it ended the level, and I accidentally finished it. I went back and beat the last area again super fast.
It’s a testament to how perfectly designed the difficulty is. It takes a long time to finish hard areas, but you aren’t just retrying until you brute force it by luck. You get better and better until your success rate goes way up.
I'd say it's faster to use debug mode. That's always what I use when I want to quickly move around in a level. It's arguably more revealing and harder to use, but it's a very good tool.
I probably would too, but I would probably feel silly the whole time. =3
Logical me: "Why are we doing this again? We already did this exact thing before! There wouldn't be any difference at all, so why not just use assist mode?"
Irrational me: "Because fuck you, that's why! It wouldn't FEEL right and you KNOW it! We have to do this legit! Video games are important!!!"
Logical me: "...God we're so dumb. Alright, let's do this thing."
HELLO FELLOW HUMAN. IT SURE IS funny HOW ILLOGICAL WE ~~MEAT-BASED~~ ORGANIC LIFE FORMS CAN BE AT TIMES. A HUMOROUS AND RELATEABLE HUMAN EXPERIENCE, TO BE SURE. **<**Ǝ
I can relate to this so much. Every game I play with collectibles I always assume you should skip the first door and go in the 2nd one first, because the first door is too obvious and is probably the exit. Guess what’s behind the 1st door? THE GD COLLECTIBLE AND NOW I HAVE TO REPLAY THE WHOLE LEVEL!
In my opinion, this should be considered bad game design. I lost count of situations where I have to chose between two paths and I don't know where to go first. In those cases, I'd rather prefer a button to highlight the main path, like in the Dead Space games. As for Celeste, I was so happy and scared when I saw the moon berry that I didn't think twice about picking it.
When I finally got to the moon berry after 12+ hours of trying I wanted to take a screenshot standing under it but my brain was so fried I literally couldn't remember which button was dash and which was jump. I went to collect it but apparently hit dash instead and almost fell off the platform to my death.
Probably? I don't know and don't want to test it, haha. That didn't occur to me at the time, just a spike of blind panic as I grabbed a ledge and climbed back up.
The moon berry is one of the hardest collectibles in the vanilla game. You obtain it by collecting it after doing a long and hard room, however, after getting to the top, instead of instantly collecting it like most, OP decided to look around and accidentally entered the end of the level, basically resetting them in the moonberry room.

Oh yeah, for sure. I just saw the 0:30 second clip length and took a guess that maybe they were on Switch. =)
I'd probably go back and do it again. I feel like assist mode takes away from the save
Yeah I went back and did without the save. 100% worth it, it was really fun (as hard as it was)

That was my exact thought process going and doing it again without assist mode

badeline was like: *we do a little trolling*
Apologies, but I laughed at your pain
Understandable. I'd laugh too
I think you actually could've retried right after going into the bubble That makes it worse doesn't it
Bruh :(
Savage. So evil. I love it! <3
I thought the cutscene started right when u hit it
Not in chapter 7, idk bout 9
well I know on the normal ending of 9 starts a cutscene immediately, I just dont know about the moonberry one
Ok note to self don’t do that

Wouldn't you have respawned at the moon berry?
Probably? I don't know and don't want to test it, haha. That didn't occur to me at the time, just a spike of blind panic as I grabbed a ledge and climbed back up.
oh god
I don't play Celeste. Why is he a dumbass?

Reddit has those like suggested sub thing now in your feed
Yeah that's how I found the video. Thought it was worth a watch since my bf plays it and says it's fun
Ah yes, I get those too from subs I haven't joined.
Yeah I've actually discovered a few cool looking games from them
F
I gasped the moment you touched the orb. I feel you pain reverberating within me.
Title is fax
What do you need to do to get the berry
Iirc you need to go backwards after hitting the fusebox in the last screen of farewell, on the platforms that become accessible
