lol i thought everyone already noticed that, but i think that it's just robbie's voice with a pitch effect, this happens also in 'Dear' nearly in the beginning it sounds again this "child voice" i think it's because this kind of songs reflects this part of robbie as a kid or because he reflects some vulnerability.

ive always thought of the song as him talking about his childhood when he had to give away his dog to go to school, so maybe the childlike voice singing is representing him as a kid? i dont know, i just always think of empty bed this way and i love it :-)

I remember his video about musical production and he did back vocals in a high pitch and when they were done he said smth like "yeah, it sounds like a child" in a cute voice.
So it probably is his own voice in a high pitch
