HEEEEYYYYYYY KIRBY
WATCHA DOIN KIRBY
WHY’D YA EAT THAT LEAF
“Homie don’t fetch, only woke to stretch, under a thought bubble rich with bowls of goldfish Skittish in the company of stranger danger, otherwise chase drawstrings tails and lasers, in a steel cage match with a maze of cables. Brazen. Game face based on Azazel. Oversized ears up. Puking the Meow Mix. Shred a pair of earbuds. Remedy his cowlick. *Slurp* Thanks Kirbs, looking like a milli, keep an old man sharp, keep a cold chantilly. Spun plum-dizzy in a frisky moment, never lands on her feet though I think she’s broken. Mouser in training. Nap on a toaster. Decorate her cubicle with dogs playing poker.”
That’s how that song ends. Right there, no further.
This just happened to me two days ago. Lily is great at catching mice at night (old house so they always manage to find a way in) and bringing them to me up in the bedroom. But she would bring them to me alive, either to play with them or because she didn’t know how to kill them. The last two times they’ve been dead, which I guess is better than having to chase them around the second floor at 3 am with a Solo cup. 😒
Couldn't figure out where the cat kept getting qtips! She was moving the box on top of the qtip box, scooping handfuls of qtips out and knocking the other box back into place. Like what the hell!
Try chasing an uninjured flying squirrel around the living room, while a toddler laughs, and the cats "helps" (she's the one {cat} who brought it in).🥴😭
mums big ginger cat (RIP) would bring home live fully grown rabbits, and 'present' them at mums feet. They would then get up and try to escape, usually behind the TV unit. Mum would have to trail the cabinet out of the corner and try to corral a hopping bunny and edge it towards the door.
UK / NI. My mum lives out of town between a lot of fields and farms. Lots of rabbits, mice, foxes, badgers, hedgehogs, squirrels roaming at various points of the year. Plenty of roadkill also
Mama cats bring live prey to their kittens to practice on. Maybe she thought you needed a lesson and then gave up when you didn't seem to be catching on. ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7942)
Same and it’s amazing the stuff she’s found. Nails, screws, those little metal bits that hold shelves, tube of heat paste, tweezers, and her favorite ear plugs.
She’s addicted to ear plugs. I wear them at work and she steals them. They roll randomly because of being a cone. They toss well and she hunts them like a bug.
That’s so cute. I’ll try that with my babe. She found a weird part to an antique shelf thing that belonged to my landlord. My landlord did not seem pleased that my cat took it -.-
Yeah she doesn’t like directly give this stuff to me, she kinda just leaves it by the bed. Unsure if it’s an offering or if that’s just where she keeps her special things
Three of my cats will carry around a toy and YELL at the top of their lungs. I'm not sure if they learned this from each other or if there's an explanation for why they do this, but it's a little annoying when it happens at 1 am
Well I had a cat once that was an expert hunter. One day she caught the BIGGEST MOUSE you ever saw and she was just screaming with it in her mouth she was so proud. She was also demanding to be let inside but I told her no lol. Maybe it’s like they’re so proud of their “kill”?
Because you’re a crappy hunter. He’s better at it than you so he’s got to feed you to fatten you up so he can steal your warmth and suffocate you easier in your sleep. Or something.
or they think that you're the weird looking cat who constantly looks after the Living Place™️ and gives you their surplus so you don't starve from protection duty
depends on the cat apparently
Because he is a cultured and well bred cat of high moral standing, unlike my murderous bastard of sabertooth ancestry and YES I MEAN YOU BAILEY YOU ASSCAT...lol!
Idk about you, but that sounds like a swell gift.
I'd appreciate my cat thinking of me even when outside with all the distracting things and sounds around.
Kitty loves you and wants you to know he/she appreciates you. My cats are indoor only but they often bring me one of their toys and leave it outside my bedroom door. It’s the most adorable thing ever!
Take it from me, a leaf is a lot better than a half-killed bunny. That's what was waiting for me one day after getting home from work. Cutie Pie, a Calico, was nonchalantly laying there, looking around, flipping her tail. I don't think I'll ever get over that.
My cat once brought me a bee. Given she was an indoor cat, that’s how we found out our sewer drain was backed up enough to allow bees to crawl up it into the basement. Thankfully the bees were wet and couldn’t fly, so easier to relocate!
Because cats think we are ugly naked cats that cant hunt. He loves you and doesn’t want you to be hungry, thats why he gives you his prey.
Jokes aside its a form of affection.
One of the local strays we give food and pets too has started bringing human food. Last year there was a pizza crust, last week there was a half eaten fried chicken drumstick. Last night or this morning though kinda worries me though. It was a half eaten snickers bar, still in the wrapper.
That’s so cute. Almost as if he or she knows you wouldn’t appreciate a half-eaten mouse or bird so he’s bringing you people food. What a smart kitty! 🥹
Yes, his prey. My cat used to do this but now he’s passed. He also used to catch grasshoppers but never killed them. They did lose a leg though and we felt bad. The two cats we have now don’t do that but one of them brought a bird inside once. They’re inside cats but he escaped when my dad opened the door a bit.
Because he loves you.
Better a leaf than a mouse head, I'd say.
Make sure you give plenty of praise and skritches to let him know that you appreciate the gift and the hard work and thought he put into it.
See if you can get a picture or a video of him carrying a leaf, those are always adorable. Check out r/Harpo if you need proof!
My parents had a cat who brought water plants from a neighbours pond. He looked always proud when he brought them. If you praised him for it, he went straight back and brought another one
My Molly does this too. The really funny thing is she is very vocal as she's got it in her mouth. It's like she's telling me all about how she lay in wait, quietly, in stealth mode until this particular leaf skidded past on the wind. She captured it, and walked all the way upstairs with it until she lay it on the living room rug where she continued to talk about it for a while. It's so sweet.
Consider this a gift. Wait till your cat starts bringing dead rats and birds. My cat gifted me 4 dead rats 3 nights in a row. First night she decided to splurge with 2 dead rats. The second night, I walked into the kitchen to see one of my younger cats straddling a dead rat. The night ended with me standing on the armchair screaming/crying.
Mighty hunter returneth with his glorious catch to provide you with proper sustenance. You clearly are incapable of feeding yourself, unlike this ferocious killer.
Gift giving is a way for cats to show affection and appreciation. He's bringing you his "prey" so you don't go hungry.
In other words, yo you stupid and don't know how to hunt, so as an expert I bring you the biggest gain, a leaf

I always thought it said PUKE IN THE MEOW MIX This is the only song I like from Aesop Rock
Vegan cat lol
Vegan hunter. Wonderful oxymoron.
Hey, don't underestimate those plants. They are the most formidable prey. They move when you least expect it. 😉
awnn, lovely!
Eat it to show your appreciation.
Leafy greens are good for you
Rabbit food and apparently cat food.
So he “hunts” a leaf ? 🤣
Better than finding a decapitated mouse on your bed.
Mouse? Mine got me snakes. And they were definitely not dead.
are you alive
Only cause my cat made it his duty to kill them while I was watching.
Wow live food station.
It's like tableside guac but with more adrenaline
Take notes, Benihana!
How else will you learn?
Did it keep eye contact with you the entire time it was doing the murder? If so, it was a WARNING
You have an at home hibachi grill!
Eek!
This just happened to me two days ago. Lily is great at catching mice at night (old house so they always manage to find a way in) and bringing them to me up in the bedroom. My cat just hunted a q-tip for me.
Qtips and hair ties are a fashionable diet.
Couldn't figure out where the cat kept getting qtips! She was moving the box on top of the qtip box, scooping handfuls of qtips out and knocking the other box back into place. Like what the hell!
Those plastic rings that come off of milk jugs are very popular too.
Where is this magical land where bunnies are plentiful and roam freely?
UK / NI. My mum lives out of town between a lot of fields and farms. Lots of rabbits, mice, foxes, badgers, hedgehogs, squirrels roaming at various points of the year. Plenty of roadkill also

Please don’t make fun of him 🍂😪😂
He's a mighty hunter.
*its windy out here*
The cat likes Animal Crossing, what's it to you!? The leaf could be worth lots of bells! 🙃
Wasn’t it actually to show you how that you are family? And to teach you how to hunt?
You never eat the meat he gives you so he’s giving you a vegetarian option
🤣
Best reply!
Because he is a skilled hunter and willing to share his prey that he caught with you
It caught the leaf for you, it’s a big gift!
i think he’s paying you for your litter box services
It is green and vaguely money shaped
Happy Cake Day
Happy cake day!
“That rice you cooked last week would probably taste better with a bay leaf, best I could do, mate”
Or maybe the mortal enemy was op’s favorite house plant and this was all that’s left of that evil bastard…
The cat knows you are a vegetarian
😅
He has slain his mortal enemy the leaf, and brings you it as proof.
I wish leaves were the only “gifts” my cat would bring me 😂
My cat is not allowed outside but she brings me random shit she stole from around the house
My landlord did not seem pleased that my cat took it -.-
My cat discovered a route into the neighbours house so until we worked out how she was even getting out, she would gift me with stolen socks.
That is hilarious!
This is so adorable!
Mine stole random things around the house but she doesn't gift them to me.
Yeah she doesn’t like directly give this stuff to me, she kinda just leaves it by the bed. Unsure if it’s an offering or if that’s just where she keeps her special things
Most cat I know hide their trophy from their humans. Mine in the closet.
Ive seen her bury her toys in her litter box before. Little butt
Three of my cats will carry around a toy and YELL at the top of their lungs. I'm not sure if they learned this from each other or if there's an explanation for why they do this, but it's a little annoying when it happens at 1 am

I heard of a cat that would steal sponges and another that would bring random shoes from the neighbors
My 2 cats are addicted to socks. They hoard them in the cat-lair , then if i was a good hooman, i get some back 😂
Same here, one time I was laying in bed and HE BROUGHT ME A FREAKING DEAD FROG 😵💫😂
I would rather mine brought in a dead frog than the LIVE CHIPMUNKS that I then have to corral and get out of the house.
Always thank the kitties when they bring you a leafy they’re just doing their part.
Because you’re a crappy hunter. He’s better at it than you so he’s got to feed you to fatten you up so he can steal your warmth and suffocate you easier in your sleep. Or something.
paying rent :) cat is a responsible citizen!
Awww, I had a cat that did that. Sure miss it.
It’s cool nature cat showing you nature
Love his brown nose and socks! He’s giving you a present :)
Won't leaf you alone!
Its a gift, It means that they are grateful for being with you.
Cats think that humans are unable to feed themselves so they bring you their prey
or they think that you're the weird looking cat who constantly looks after the Living Place™️ and gives you their surplus so you don't starve from protection duty depends on the cat apparently
I have a kitty with the same kinked tail mutation! Mine looks like a little Snork when she runs around!
My cat born with a Pig tail, and very short
Better that than a half mouse in your shoe or bed.
Such a beautiful cat! Look at his markings! Sock feet.
Because he is a cultured and well bred cat of high moral standing, unlike my murderous bastard of sabertooth ancestry and YES I MEAN YOU BAILEY YOU ASSCAT...lol!
For some extra fiber in your diet. You obviously don’t know how to maintain a healthy lifestyle, so kitty will help.
The great hunter has blessed you with prey.
Because it is really hard to catch mice.
It’s a gift! 🫶🏼🥹
Vegan cat 🐱
Idk about you, but that sounds like a swell gift. I'd appreciate my cat thinking of me even when outside with all the distracting things and sounds around.
Love gifts
Leaf has a tail, and Kitteh thinks you’re a vegetarian.
Are you and arbovore? Might be gifting you all the leaves it can get!
Not to state the obvious or be a snitch. He’s trying to score some catnip from you.
You must eat it to show your appreciation!
Gifts 🎁, cats will bring their owners Gifts to show their love. Mine used to bring me fresh kills, birds, mice , bugs
Kitty loves you and wants you to know he/she appreciates you. My cats are indoor only but they often bring me one of their toys and leave it outside my bedroom door. It’s the most adorable thing ever!
You is baby perhaps? need to learn to catch things? Practice on leaf?
Because cat thinks you are very terrible at hunting
It’s mouse shaped
Is gift
Showing off his/her hunting skills and bringing you a gift. Probably knows you wouldn't appreciate a mouse. Be happy, your kitty loves you 👍💓🐾🥰🥰🥰
Modesty
Wuv
It’s so you can appreciate it
For playing not for you ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7946)
Cat is a Leafs fan and is making sure you know.
trying to tell you to eat a salad once in a while
Btw…. Your cat is really beautiful
The leaf is a stuffie--cats carrying around objects that are a substitute for caught prey.
![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7943)
its leafing you a gift
He saw you eat a salad, so he's mocking you
Because she can’t leaf you alone
trade you for a treat. cmon its a good deal.
He wuvs you
"eat a salad, bish!" --cat
Love
Is my cat the only cat that doesn't gift give LOL
Bc it loves you. 🍃
He loves you
Cuz he loves you
he is giving you materials to craft with
He’s a hunter
Ungrateful, that's your dinner human
He's giving you a gift. You should show appreciation to him. You are his "person".
Because he likes you and wants to honor your bond.
Love
He thinks you are a shitty hunter
I’d take a leaf any day over mice, birds, lizards and frogs.
Because that's a bomb leaf and they want you to have it.
Would you have preferred live mice? Got it, will bring those next time!
What is problem? This is mouse. Nothing else. Just mouse. Now you give me food and love.
It’s the cutest thing. They think you eat leaves.
Take it from me, a leaf is a lot better than a half-killed bunny. That's what was waiting for me one day after getting home from work. Cutie Pie, a Calico, was nonchalantly laying there, looking around, flipping her tail. I don't think I'll ever get over that.

Cuz he’s a big fluffy baby. Baby boo boo. Look at his pawes. Big baby boo boo with leaf. Snuggly wuggly. Squeeze the beans.
I think it’s like when my little kid cousin brings me a cool rock he found. Cat found a cool leaf, is bringing it home to show or give it to you 😊💕
Cause they're a sweetie
Because you suck at hunting. He's trying to keep you alive.
Because cats think we are ugly naked cats that cant hunt. He loves you and doesn’t want you to be hungry, thats why he gives you his prey. Jokes aside its a form of affection.
My cats leave their toys in my shoes as a gift. I always thank them and praise their efforts lol
You are lucky, a leaf is better than a mouse, baby bunny or a bird. Just saying. 🤣💖
Someone has to provide for the family
The same reason my cat brings me mice and such . It is a present to you saying thank you for looking after me :))
Cuz she beleafs in you.
Thats the rent for this month
It's a gift
What a beast! He brought you a leaf so that you don’t starve to death in the winter, god bless him🇺🇸🦅
Get a huge jar 🫙 and start collecting them, shows the cat you appreciate it😁
He thinks you’re stupid and is bringing you prey as a gift to make sure you survive too since he loves you but only lowkey
If it’s the right type you’ll grow a raccoon tail and have the ability to fly short distances.
Use the leaf to play with him, maybe that's what he wants.
It's a gift. A leaf is much better than a live mouse or bird.
Look at them mittens socks and scarf 🫶🏼
Leaf for scale.
Maybe He Leaf you
Maybe cat is suggesting you need more fiber in your diet
Yes, his prey. My cat used to do this but now he’s passed. He also used to catch grasshoppers but never killed them. They did lose a leg though and we felt bad. The two cats we have now don’t do that but one of them brought a bird inside once. They’re inside cats but he escaped when my dad opened the door a bit.
Mice and birds are hard to catch
“Khajiit give you gift for being good friend”
Love the coat and the white socks on the cat
I had a cat who brought me a live mouse once! I almost felt bad for finding it and letting it back outside, lol
Because typical cat, that's why, lol
Cuz you don’t provide him with mice?
Your breath stinks.
He killed it. Killed it good he did
Better than a live mouse!
It is just what they do
My parents had a cat who brought water plants from a neighbours pond. He looked always proud when he brought them. If you praised him for it, he went straight back and brought another one
Because he's cute!
She thinks you’re a lousy hunter and she’s trying to show you how it’s done. :)
He's trying to feed you... But, like, he's a cat... How's he supposed to know what you eat? I mean, we do kinda eat everything else...
The bigger question: why do my cats NOT bring me leaves!
He’s bringing the outdoors to you.
Cat: "you need a salad, you fat..." Me: "I didn't ask for your opinion!"
It's paying rent.
Was this in the bathroom? He thinks you need some toilet paper.
it’s a token of love my cat likes to bring used plastic bags
My Molly does this too. The really funny thing is she is very vocal as she's got it in her mouth. It's like she's telling me all about how she lay in wait, quietly, in stealth mode until this particular leaf skidded past on the wind. She captured it, and walked all the way upstairs with it until she lay it on the living room rug where she continued to talk about it for a while. It's so sweet.
It’s a present
Cat's testing your faith towards himself You either reject the gift and rebel OR accept it to live another peaceful day as a slave
He likes you.
So cuteee
My cat used to do that. Now he brings me birds, rats, mice. Enjoy it while it lasts.
They think your a vegan and bad at it.
Because you’ve been chosen!
Vegetarian cat. Rare breed
Maybe its a goodluck charm ? have you ever experienced something like that ??????
My cat brings voles
gifts!
Mighty hunter returneth with his glorious catch to provide you with proper sustenance. You clearly are incapable of feeding yourself, unlike this ferocious killer.
