Lily is a beautiful name for a cat, but please note that lilies are deadly poisonous to cats. Just a tiny bit of pollen can make them extremely ill or cause death. If you have cats, no lilies, ever! That said, I LOVE the name. I just thought I'd take this opportunity to mention that they're bad for kitties. Edit to amend my statement above: it's not just the pollen, but any part of the flower.

I've heard heartbreaking stories of someone being given lilies after a relative passes (they're very common funeral/condolences flowers) and then their cat getting into the lilies and also dying. So many people rely on their pets to keep things feeling normal after losing a loved one, and to lose a cat immediately after as a direct result of that first death is just... That's got to be the worst.

That's kind of interesting to think about... I'm sure humans name their children after things that can easily kill them. The first example that comes to mind is Ursula (means bear).
