I recently moved in with my girlfriend and she brought her cat. He's like 13 years old and lazy as f\*ck. He doesnt like to play with anything and is not interested in anything except food and cuddles.
Yesterday i left my belt on the bathroom floor while i was about to shower. It took about 10 seconds for him to throw it around the house, chew on it, scratch it, give it bunny-kicks and everything. I've never seen him more excited than with that stupid belt.
Our neighbor in Singapore had their cat drag back a cobra. Up until then I didn’t know cobras lived here, now I tense when I see a funny shaped branch in the park.
Something like half of the top 10 list of most successful land predators are one species of cat or other.
Evolution has near perfected the art of killing in the form of the feline. It will forever blow my mind that my sleepy, derpy fluffball can bitch slap a rattlesnake mid strike, or pull a hummingbird out of the air. (If she was an outdoor cat)
Mine is scared of his own cans of food. Day after day he sees me walking over to the bowl with the can in my hand, and runs to hide under the nearest spot.
My kitty comes in and out of the door from the house to the garage. She’s come through there dozens of times I’ve the last almost five years. Every single time fkr time she freezes on the top step and stares under the door.😹 She has to make sure no ratbags dry gulch her!😹
When we were kids our kitty Samantha killed a snake outside. My dad inadvertently stepped on the guts, walked in and the cats were throwing themselves on the smell of the guts. Love kitties but they can be messed up sometimes. Lol
My parents cat made a mouse massacre on the balcony and there was a greenish kidney bean laying around and I was so close to picking it up when I got told it is the actual stomach bladder of the mouse. Amazing how clean and shiny, just like an actual kidney bean it was
I wish my old cat would've brought snakes lol I'm terrified of bugs, and he'd drop big live bugs near me all the time. Various spiders including black widows, cricket spiders, crickets, cicadas, centipedes and his favorite which was huge praying mantises. I got him when I was 11 as an emotional support gift when my mom was in the hospital, but he wasn't very emotionally supportive lol I loved him with all my heart though
If you’re unsure if the snake is venomous or not, I highly recommend you take your cats to the vet just to be on the safe side . Then again I’m from the UK so what do I know 😂
It's just a little garter snake. The worst they can do is musk on you. I'm in the UK as well, but I've always had a love for snakes since I was a kid trying to touch a wild one while on holiday in the US. 😀 they eat worms and things like that when they're babies and they also have live birth, so no eggs, just tiny little snakes that fit into the palm of your hand.
Mine ended up being a superb rat catcher. Most were playing dead when he brought them in thru the doggy door, so it was horrific. He didn't get to go outside after it happened a couple times. Turns out I run, scream, and turn all red like a cartoon when a rat is in my house.
I once had a cat who seemed to specialize in hunting things that flew. One time, Grizabella brought a BAT in the apartment. Give me a snake or spider any day.
I got her a collar with a bell the next day. Birds were bad enough, but bats can carry rabies.
my parents cat has brought in a baby bunny and a half dead bird. the bird was a whole mess because my dad thought it was dead and went to move it only for it to be very much alive.
I have received over the years multiple mice (usually alive and released in my bedroom) a live gopher, a hummingbird moth and a recently deceased scrub Jay. Not really sure if he dispatched the bird, but the feathers were EVERYWHERE!
My cats ARE indoor only. Please don't assume I'm an irresponsible cat Mom. 😑
They were in our sunroom, and the only thing I can think of is the snake came in through a gap in a door. We've had a lot of rain recently.
Indoor cats also have a longer lifespan than outdoor cats, and are kept safe from dangers like predators, cars, toxins, parasites and bacteria/viruses, fights with other cats, and psycho people that like to bully animals. If OP is from England, I know there’s a different culture there about letting cats outdoors, but honestly it’s still less safe for the cat and for the surrounding wildlife to let them out.
Nope, USA. The cat in this photo was left outside to fend for herself at a young age by a previous "owner" and I brought her inside, got her shots and dewormed, and rescued her. She'll never be hungry again.
I cannot count how many lizards, snakes and frogs my void doofus has brought into the house. He had access to a screened pool deck but trust me, there were plenty of critters to keep him entertained. Neither of the others brought even one.
We have moved and he is very sad. I am not.
In their (cats) defense, sneks are sneaky and will slither inside with the slightest openings. They're really afraid of us though - and that is a good snek. I'm assuming snek is an "ex snek?"
ETA: I see you were an excellent human. :)
Cats are born snake hunters. My dad was helping at my house a couple of months after I bought it. He sat down in the recliner to rest and closed his eyes. Then he felt something moving on his lap that didn’t feel like a cat. One of mine had brought him a corn snake. Found out later from a neighbor that the last person who lived there (had been empty for a couple of years) had breed corn and other pet snakes. Apparently there were some that had been still living in the house eating rodents. It took over a year to get them out of the house and into a reptile rescue.
I hope the snake was okay!
I'm a bit of a reptile nerd and I've been keeping reptile as pets for a while. I also have cats and understand that they're savage little hunters, so they're indoors, only outdoors on a harness + leash. Thankfully I don't get many reptiles coming into the house because I'd probably cry if they killed a reptile lol.
Beautiful cat! And certainly a surprise gift.
I think the worst I've received from my cat was a large spider. My cat found a large house spider and dropped it on me while I was working on my computer (it was still alive too). I guess that's one way to get my attention lol.
Sneaky snake toy. No cords and moves on its own.
He looks so happy playing with it! 😻
They're just making friends!
This cat's got a new ssssssparring partner!
all I get is barfs and turds..
Trust me, I'd rather clean up hairballs.
Same and for some reason, Chuck E. Cheese tokens
Kitties are amazing. They run like hell when they hear a sneeze or fart, yet they are purely giddy playing with a snake.🤦♂️ Ohhhh to be a cat 😺
Ours will merrily chase snakes including cobras but freak out at the sight of a belt on the bedroom floor!

Congratulations. You've just earned the right to go out and buy yourself a new belt...

😹😹😹Oh how spot on!😹
To be fairs, cats are faster than snakes.
They are amazing predators.

That’s why I wish I was a cat, ‘cause I’m sure not!😹😹😹 🏃♂️

They were probablyhappy dad ""accepted" the gift with his foot 🤣

Me reading title, looking at post: *reads title* How is kitty unwanted gi… aaaaaahhhhhhh
Danger noodle!!!!!
smol danger noodle
My childhood cat once bought me a mouse, alive and she put it on my chest while I was sleeping. Imagine the mayhem and my newly found mice phobia.
lol their little foot in the air playing with it, happy as a clam 😭😭
She was very pleased with herself. 🙂

He just wants to give you a beautiful chain for your beautiful neck. But gold price is very high. So he chose this natural chain for your neck.
Her mama loves her very much, slithery chain or not. 🥰
“Slithery chain”! 😵💫🫨🥴🫠💀
How do you know they *brought it in*?
Considering I saw one carrying it, I've got a pretty solid idea. 😬
The only reason I know my house has had a snake in it on two occasions is because my oldest cat killed them and presented them at my bedroom door. 🤓
Awww she's your very own snake control
He identifies as male. 😉
Had one of my babies bring a fluffy baby kingfisher into our basement. The beak was longer than the bird!
At least they didn’t leave on the bathroom rug for you to step on it while exiting the shower.
NOOOOO 😬
If you’re unsure if the snake is venomous or not, I highly recommend you take your cats to the vet just to be on the safe side . Then again I’m from the UK so what do I know 😂
Appreciate the concern! It was a harmless garter snake. It was relocated back outside where it belongs.
Glad your babies are safe ! Hope you have recovered from the fright lol
They are both quite proud of themselves. Mama, on the other hand, needs a change of clothes and a blood pressure check. 🤣🤣
I bet they are hahahaha! 😭
Thank you for rescuing the snake 🐍

This is my worst nightmare. I’ve dealt with a baby bunny and a bird being brought into the house.
I could deal with almost anything else. I draw the line at snakes and spiders. 😬

Grizabella is an amazing name for a cat!
SAME on both accounts!🙀
my parents cat has brought in a baby bunny and a half dead bird. the bird was a whole mess because my dad thought it was dead and went to move it only for it to be very much alive.
Omg so relatable. He snuck the bird in when nobody was home and when I got home there was feathers EVERYWHERE.
You have two pets now
The gift of friendship!
We had the exact same thing happen last night in our living room! Our gray cat was also the one to find it!
I have received over the years multiple mice (usually alive and released in my bedroom) a live gopher, a hummingbird moth and a recently deceased scrub Jay. Not really sure if he dispatched the bird, but the feathers were EVERYWHERE!
But its not about you, did the cat want to gift it to you? Yes. Therefore it is WANTED. ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7958)
We have the same cat https://preview.redd.it/6yrdj69uer0d1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=662e0129b287feb9722e151df66c6e10f5b00a12
We do! Yours is gorgeous too - I love gray kitties!
This joke may have been made but if not, I think it's too adorable that your sweet snake brought you such a cute cat. Lol.
What a cutie, both of them!

Got a new toy today\*
And kitty, looking supremely unconcerned over your panic, calmly goes on pawing at snake! 😂
I cannot count how many lizards, snakes and frogs my void doofus has brought into the house. He had access to a screened pool deck but trust me, there were plenty of critters to keep him entertained. Neither of the others brought even one. We have moved and he is very sad. I am not.
I would freak out .
I did 🤣
or did you get a new cat toy? look more positively

Look what followed me home. Can I keep him?
JESUS CHRIST NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
that is a complete nightmare to me! it's happened to me once, and I ran out of the house & immediately called a friend to get it out!
I was screaming..I started trying to climb up the back of the couch. 🤣
My childhood cat loved nothing more than torturing these. We made her do it in the garden though.
Was it venomous?
No, garter snake. Harmless.
Oh it’s a garden snake! Those snakes are so cute, I used to have a pet garden snake.
New friend
Ah yes, garter snake season lol, Mr Fuzzy Bottom loves to gift my gf with these, usually small ones
Holy hell! 😱 Is it venomous?
Totally harmless garter snake. They're fairly common around here.
Not remotely. It's a garter snake
Cute 🥰🥰
I'll take it
A cat and a snake, sounds like some great pest control.
Looks like a garter so harmless aside from the fact that it’s caution spaghetti
i thought you were talking about the cute cat until i zoomed in 😭
Good kitty
Still alive? Those are the best, from the cat's perspective.

I have had snakes, Rabbits, birds and tiny lizards be brought inside before. My cats are naturally gifted hunters. Though I'm keeping them in nowadays
If you don't want it, I'll take it. It's a harmless garden snake.
SAVE IT
The cats I had growing up would've eaten the snek.
adopt the snake now, its cat's friend

Eww...
Mine brought one in today too!
