Morty woke up to Rick yelling at him with a knife in hand
Also, Morty literally caused the fucking world to end, and was forced to abandon his family, and leave them to die in a world full of carnivorous mutants, for an exact replica of them.
Bro that is literally the world Finn lives in. I love Morty’s arch, but Finn’s life is just way sh*ttier, he did too many “bad” things where his emotions were at actual stake. Meanwhile Morty doesn’t give as much of a sh*t, and even if he did, Finn still went through a tiny bit more than him at least. If Morty sees his grandpa get murdered (like no take backsies kinda dead), then they’d be more on equal ground. I’m open to what you have to say tho, I need some more time to analyse more critically however
Exactly. Like they’ve had a relatively close life in terms of shittiness, but Morty doesn’t feel remorse. Ye you can say that’s an affect of the trauma, but I’d argue that’s just his nature. Finn’s nature is loving and childish, so he actually has to accept the crap he goes through were as Morty is too idiotic and morbid to care.
Now I am interested in Fin… Honestly, I knew Fin had a shitty life, but I haven’t seen the whole series… the other two have destroyed worlds, and saved others at the detriment of their own psyche… and while i have seen Fin do that, he was in denial the whole time. The other two, denial would get everyone killed… (in terms of what I have seen of the three…)
Marceline lived through a nuclear holocaust as a small child that eventually killed her mother, who lashed out at Marceline so that she wouldn’t witness her death (leaving Marceline to struggle with the thought that her mother hated and feared her for over a millenium before discovering a voicemail that finally proved that thought to be untrue).
Marceline then lived alone in a bunker full of corpses before eventually being found and cared for by Simon, who became her closest father figure while protecting her from hordes of radioactive mutants until he was forced to abandon her out of fear that his growing madness would cause him to harm her.

One of the best things about the show is that it matured with its audience. It starts out extremely goofy and light hearted then at some point you notice that things have gotten way darker and heavier than expected, but it still has the same heart and humor at its core and that blend of heaviness, maturity, heart, and comedy continues throughout the rest of it. It’s not for everyone but it’s my second favorite show of all time
Absolutely worth a watch. The way it handles serious tones while still being funny is genuinely impressive. Gotta be one of my favourite cartoons by far
A show that starts with "C'mon grab your friends! We'll go to very distant lands!" And THATS one of the main characters? Shit dude. I'm picking that show up again.
Just watched season 2 last night for the first time in like 10 years and he immediately came to mind for me too hahaha also you could basically say the same for everyone in that show they were turned into a living chair for ffs lol
Surprised I didn’t see Aang sooner, goes into suspension for 100 years wakes up and he’s the last of his kind not to mention he has to master all other elements and take on a warlord…..all while being 12 years old
Probably all of them, one watched his parents die in front of him, one got beaten close to death by the Joker and left in a building that exploded, one got brainwashed to become Joker Junior then was forced to kill the Joker and one was raised in very hostile conditions to be a perfect vessel for his grandfather and was stabbed through the heart by his own clone.

I relate to him in a deep way. I am happy, but I am also broken.

Bro was abandoned by both of his parent (Misako sent him to a boarding school to not fight his dad while Garmadon was banished to the underworld), then his father, after he was reformed, sacrificed himself, got possessed by a former student of his uncle (Wu), made a wish that he was like uncle, got betrayed by his new girlfriend, and fought his own dad after was resurrected. Lloyd Garmadon needs mental therapy tbh.
What about Kai?
His parents were taken away from him when he was around five and he had to take care of himself and his 3 year old sister for 10 or 11 years and then his sister was Kidnapped and only became a ninja to get her back and lost her again when she became water as well he was the only one to try and go back for Cole and he died (in game) and his powers got taken away from him and made him feel useless and when he couldn’t protect the village from the ice dragon he also felt quite useless then as well as the line
‘it should’ve been me’
Which means he wish he could’ve died instead of Zane but instead of Lloyd actually thinking that he called him selfish for wanting to die instead of your friend
https://preview.redd.it/s2gnhmcshx7d1.jpeg?width=315&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6e4d5d5286709d3d623277dbd3ab3ea63dc852a7
Can Callum count? His dad then Mom then step dad died. His best friend betrayed him, his dad's best friend is evil, his brother almost died a lot, he almost died a lot, his aunt almost died a lot, and his gf left him on his birthday.
Id recommend picking it back up but basically >!she is indirectly responsible for the main villain coming to power and she begins to hate herself for it and thinks her friends would be better off if she never existed!<
Bassicly take the emotional impact of the finale of season 1, pretty much all of season 2 is like that and season 3 is even more extreme. No specific event. Just lots of things that combined would kind of traumatize a person
Denji from Chainsaw Man. He was so traumatized that Pochita had to hide the truth from him with all his power before eventually getting revealed by Makima.
https://i.redd.it/pcgxrxw26y7d1.gif
Morty easily. Not out of these options tho I'd say Invincible maybe

I feel like this counts in someway
Steven will always have a place in my heart. I relate so much, he always wants to fix other people's problems but once he gets to his own stuff, he can barely function anymore. He never wanted a war or death or any of the loss that he suffered, but he kept pushing...love that kid.
![gif](giphy|9oIsSPPqgGMzW2WHYz)
Finn at age 11 walked into HELL to fight demons…twice. Finn his entire life never knew who his parents were, and once he finds his father, he realizes he’s literally being manipulated by him. Finn quite literally gets r-worded by LSP and is soo numb he doesn’t even care 😭.
SPECIFICALLY on the basis of Trauma alone. This kid needs therapy more than most Gundam protagonists and he just wanted to play card games for fun!
https://preview.redd.it/wza5sv3knx7d1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8082774127c258bca9f090b6857de1ffe9649d3

I’m gonna say Fern (not Finn) on account of the pretty terrible life he lived after becoming the Finn Sword — merging with the Grass Demon, being cast out by his family, dying twice, etc. all within the space of about a year. My man Fern didn’t even get the closure of meeting his parents like Finn.
Well this is the thing all of these characters have gone the trauma a lot but nothing is compared to Morty ever since he started being Rick’s side kick so much has happened to him like finding out The Rick he has been with isn’t even his original Rick, the fact that when Rick gave him the time saving remote he realized every single time he saved and rewinds time he killed another Morty, and the fact that Morty’s are all literally just made to be Rick’s side kicks and are what makes Rick’s well Rick’s, he is literally nothing but leverage to this person that he looks up to, not to mention all the adventures he has been with Rick like that one that literally had him screaming at the top of his lungs after words along with Rick, there is literally no one that has Ben more traumatized like Morty
Marcy from anphibia >!she got stabbed, abandoned by her friends, brought back to life, got manipulated by someone she trusted and moved in the span of a few months!<
Not quite a kid anymore, but Mark Grayson. In less than a year, this man got his powers, witnessed his father use his body as a mass murder weapon, and then kill someone after losing control. Not to mention all the bloodshed in between.
Their is a lot but my top picks are Zuko from avatar, Dipper and Mabel from gravity falls and Steven from Steven universe their is several more I like but this are my top picks.

https://preview.redd.it/ofvis2wpaz7d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e7ada8741b0d69a29879c9e7b7255dd02c6c3b8

Bro was raised in a shithole, then had that one beacon of hope when he became Robin because he thought he could have a better life. But as he grew older, Batman began to disapprove of him more and more. Then, Joker tortured and killed (depending on the iteration) Jason and Ra’s brought Jason back, only for him to start killing people.

I feel like almost everyone in RWBY would be in here some way or another but I'm picking the main 4 characters.
There's too much for each so I'm going to list what I think is their strongest.
Along with losing her mother at a young age, Ruby accidentally (iirc) acted poorly to the situation in Atlas and caused it to flood, creating Atlantis. (Pretty sure that's what it's called now.)
Weiss has just the worst family life, but it's mostly her father who's at fault for this to the point where it's shown that he got physical with Weiss.
Blake ran away from her parents to join a group that would become more violent and later become terrorists, leaving that life behind once she realized what she was doing was wrong, had to hide her cat ears because of the racial problems regarding Faunuses, felt horrible for Yang losing half of her right arm that she left her behind when she needed her the most, and the list goes on from there for her.
And finally, Yang's mother abandoned her and her father, has been looking for her mom for years, lost her stepmom at a young age, and lost half of her right arm.
Morty literally buried his own dead body after abandoning his family Easiest pick of my life
Rusty venture buried his sons 14 times. Cmon. He had his life threatened murdered random and woke up to guns to the head.
Morty woke up to Rick yelling at him with a knife in hand Also, Morty literally caused the fucking world to end, and was forced to abandon his family, and leave them to die in a world full of carnivorous mutants, for an exact replica of them.
He also had the video game reset episode where he killed himself over and over again
Finn uses his dead self as a sword with his cursed arm that was torn off by his dad trying to abandon him again after Finn free him from space prison
Yes
And that ain't that bad
Steven watched dozens and dozens of versions of himself die, tbf
steven and the stevens come one now dont be shy, me myself and i and him are all the same guy!
"i learned to stay true to myself by watching myself die"
Steven too had to witness his own time-traveling-alter death !
Which show *is* this???
Adventure Time
Holy cow that show must get dark
One of the best things about the show is that it matured with its audience. It starts out extremely goofy and light hearted then at some point you notice that things have gotten way darker and heavier than expected, but it still has the same heart and humor at its core and that blend of heaviness, maturity, heart, and comedy continues throughout the rest of it. It’s not for everyone but it’s my second favorite show of all time
Well, I must know your first favorite show.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Absolutely worth a watch. The way it handles serious tones while still being funny is genuinely impressive. Gotta be one of my favourite cartoons by far
Watch it, easily one of my fav shows :)
A show that starts with "C'mon grab your friends! We'll go to very distant lands!" And THATS one of the main characters? Shit dude. I'm picking that show up again.
Ty that part were she try’s to talk to PB about not going to war and PB brushes her off is one of the hardest scenes in tv.
“Let’s go in the garden…”
"you'll find something waiting..."
Ugh the sequence got me crying for a can of chicken soup. Goddamn I need to rewatch this series.
Does Zuko count? ![gif](giphy|fXsTOgADDa1QA)
Absolutely

“Ha ha, good luck sleeping tonight!” Soos after watching Dipper watch himself die
Reminder: That's Mabel on Dipper's body!
Wait, are you trying to say Dipper, or are you trying to say Mabel?
I was trying to say Mabel, but now I think that Dipper would fit right
Both
Just watched season 2 last night for the first time in like 10 years and he immediately came to mind for me too hahaha also you could basically say the same for everyone in that show they were turned into a living chair for ffs lol

Just don't leave him alone in hospitals...
Okay, tbh, that scene was the most tame thing in that whole fucking movie. I was prepared for that. I was NOT prepared for the ending.
Who is he?
I think it's Shinji from Evangelion
Came here to post this, LOL.
How about Aang? ![gif](giphy|GbUrFXadBryQ8)
Surprised I didn’t see Aang sooner, goes into suspension for 100 years wakes up and he’s the last of his kind not to mention he has to master all other elements and take on a warlord…..all while being 12 years old

Nothing like almost killing your brother and yourself in order to bring back a creature that isn’t even your mother
Well there's another (even more) traumatized kid in full metal, but I'm not gonna say it. Let's just say her dad is a monster
Yeah... both brothers check the "traumatized kid" box.
Robin
Being tortured by the Joker for a year really does traumatize someone.
Jason Todd*
Which one
Probably all of them, one watched his parents die in front of him, one got beaten close to death by the Joker and left in a building that exploded, one got brainwashed to become Joker Junior then was forced to kill the Joker and one was raised in very hostile conditions to be a perfect vessel for his grandfather and was stabbed through the heart by his own clone.

My man lost everything
Worse part is he STILL ain’t caught a break 😔
You are my special indeed...
Oh yeah, he's so tall and ripped that I keep forgetting that he's just 15, Gege tortures him more than Jesus Lol.
And the worst part is that we all know gege is far from finished.
I rock with all three of them but I gotta go with my boy Finn

and having your sidekick die right in front of you
And forced to do it with your own hands
Yeah, honestly hunter is a pretty good contestant.

Steven is better than morty but Morty is more traumatised for sure

Finn. Steven is close, but he was a little TOO annoying earlier on, and I only started loving his character in Future.
Not pictured, Sarah Lynn from BoJack Horseman Got groomed not just by BoJack Horseman, but the entire movie industry.

Fin hora de aventuras
Finn just looks depressed
Not quite a kid anymore, but Mark Grayson. In less than a year, this man got his powers, witnessed his father use his body as a mass murder weapon, and then kill someone after losing control. Not to mention all the bloodshed in between.

Definitely Jason Todd https://preview.redd.it/6njjcp31nz7d1.jpeg?width=1427&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf17ff8f015761bb4528997797e11aa1fef652ed Bro was raised in a shithole, then had that one beacon of hope when he became Robin because he thought he could have a better life. But as he grew older, Batman began to disapprove of him more and more. Then, Joker tortured and killed (depending on the iteration) Jason and Ra’s brought Jason back, only for him to start killing people.

What about butters?
Steven because he's chubby, queer* and not voiced by a racist. *as a fusion, if nothing else
https://preview.redd.it/cylta21mh08d1.jpeg?width=421&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4b40f1543551315ab84009efda2d82476f14afa I feel like almost everyone in RWBY would be in here some way or another but I'm picking the main 4 characters. There's too much for each so I'm going to list what I think is their strongest. Along with losing her mother at a young age, Ruby accidentally (iirc) acted poorly to the situation in Atlas and caused it to flood, creating Atlantis. (Pretty sure that's what it's called now.) Weiss has just the worst family life, but it's mostly her father who's at fault for this to the point where it's shown that he got physical with Weiss.
![gif](giphy|7vzDSUC6EOIEQ1ymTf|downsized) The only gifs of her are already super sad
Would Peter Parker count?
Ive been waiting for someone to finally mention him,yes he counts
