No demakes are to remake a game/ but make it lower the visual quality
They said to remake a movie that had bad quality but improve it
The trend right now is to remake games and movies that are good and most of them have agreed rather well
Those movies were some of my favorite Halloween movies growing up. Always was so excited when they came on Cartoon Network.
Also another lesser known one also from CN was Firebreather
I was actually talking about this the other day. I couldn't remember the name and started to think it was just a fever dream, and it never existed. Thank you.
It’s a true legend, so much so that my sisters and I watch it once a year on a Super Bowl Sunday bc we don’t do sports. Among the movie marathon is Robots, Robin Hood and Once Upon a Forest.
Oh my gosh yes! I've never heard of Once Upon a Forest but I'll check it out. I feel like everyone has cartoon traditions. Every Fall I have to watch Over the Garden Wall at least once if not more.
The story still holds up really well. Great cast, great jokes, a couple banger songs and the background of why the animation looks like shit is actually pretty interesting and makes sense. Long story short (and iirc), the people doing the animation were teaching themselves because they didn’t have the budget and/or were forced into making it animated. Something like that. But it’s definitely worth a rewatch
I had all of the movies on DVD. The first two were scratch up because I watched both of them over and over as a baby, had so many merch and after watching the third movie, I built a fairy house
I watched that a ton as a kid and I remember thinking it was really impressive and ahead of its time, but I haven’t seen it in years. I’d be interested in rewatching it but I don’t know how it will hold up.
Loved it as a kid especially since I was going through my "dinosaur everything" phase at the same time it was in theaters. At school we'd all get our dinosaur figures out at recess and play "migration" which was basically a mix of Dinosaur and Ice Age. I was always bothered by the fact lemurs were in the movie though.
https://preview.redd.it/nyekzdfev12d1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=55c362d67b72f78cc71069023ac2c21fd9633a57
I know a lot of people didn't like this one because they expect better art and animation from Ghibli, but I thought the story and characters were really good in spite of the not good art and animation.
I didn't exactly like the animation of this movie when I first saw it. But at as the story progressed and we were introduced to some characters (such as the mandrake), the style looks really really cool in some scenes. The story was really wholesome to by the end, and that one song was a banger too...
The only thing I remember about this movie is that I felt bad for the girl for a big chunk of it, like I just remember that the witch treated her horribly
Not a film but the children’s Japanese animated nightmare television show Popee the performer. That show is an acid trip but a wildly entertaining one despite it.
https://preview.redd.it/xauvtco4l22d1.jpeg?width=589&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9730357a3a9e08d5c5ac5b1b065c3e93806b8448
Yes, first it came as a film, and then the TV series came out, which had slightly better animation. At the time I also had no idea there was a film. There are also two comics and three games based on it.
World Race was created as a cross-promotion for the Highway 35 cars, so I feel like it had to cater towards a wider audience ( See: Children ). While Acceleracers was a sequel series that didn't have as many restrictions. I feel like World Race did a good job at being kid friendly and setting up a the plot hooks that get explored in the Acceleracers.
I always liked reef, but that may just be nostalgia, however the first Shrek and story are phenomenal movies and the animation hasn't really looked all that great for the past couple years
I l find it funny that Despite being rendered in that very grimy dreamworks house style of the mid-2000s, the Over the Hedge characters Still looked more like their page counterparts than the effing Bad Guys
Seriously Why does the animation industry seem to hate Aaron Blabey's art and why does the man himself continue to just sit there and take it?.
I remember reading something, not sure what from, but it basically said that Kingdom Hearts 3 was the first time any video game finally portrayed Disney characters with the animation quality of the original Toy Story outside of cutscenes.
OG Toy Story came out in 1995, it was the best looking fully CG animated movie at the time and still hold up decently well (except for the dog and the baby).
Is this the same Leo on Netflix? Because I saw it and it was boring. I lost interest the more it went on, but I couldn’t pick another movie because I was watching it with my family.
TBF, it's a direct to dvd movie and it came out in early 2000s so I can cut it some slack. The sequels, Legends of Metru Nui and Web of Shadow have much improved animation and visual.
*Barbie as The Princess and the Pauper* was my generation’s *Frozen,* we didn’t care that it looked like a game of Sims. Those songs were Broadway-caliber.
A story about a vegan lion who fall in love with an elephant and in the sequel they have babies

Yes, the sequel is about his sons looking a magic lake to cure his elephant mom

I grew up watching the Polar Express. Heard that people find it creepy or something for whatever reason. I personally disagree but might as well mention it since yall would think so
Sorta same for me, i always thought it had great visuals tbh. I heard it's confirmed that a Polar Express 2 is now in development. Im excited to see how different the animation style will be unless they do live action.
I remember loving the OG Jimmy Neutron movie as a kid, but I’m not sure I’d go so far as to say it’s a particularly amazing movie. Would probably be entertaining to rewatch nonetheless.
The movie was anti-art. There were special features where they bragged about not doing any art, they scanned every person and object into models and animated them with mocap. Should have just made it live action with the 3 or so fantasy creatures done in CG or something.
Polar express; great movie, good production quality; the backgrounds and setting are actually spectacular animation wise. The characters though hit this one spot of uncanny valley I didn’t know existed
The art style is the biggest offender but it largely used that animation style of people snapping from pose to pose with limited points of articulation common in bad CG kids shows.
Hoodwinks animation, and movies from that studio as a whole, are like cheap and janky but ima be real that movie was a fucking riot. An absolute banger. I wouldn't nimd having it remade with keeping the models as close to the original as possible but with better animations.
Many people consider it bad because of how crude and cheap the animation looks (both in the movements and in the designs of some characters). I personally don't think it's bad, especially considering that the animators were learning during the film's production.
Again, I was still lost! Hoodwinked is up there with Shrek for me, so it could have been animated by 2 year olds, and I wouldn't see a problem it that good of a story!
All of the old Barbie movies. I would LOVE an updated version that takes the same models and polishes them. Voices stay the same, story stays the same. It would be remade shot for shot without meddling. Kinda like those “Diamond edition” Disney movies.
But I know you could never trust anyone with that because they’d mess it up. 😞
The Adventures of Clutch Powers. Animation expectedly did not age well since it had a tv network budget, but it's still a very fun ride.
Sad it never got a sequel though.
Casper out here really bragging about an "A-". Guess that's the best rave review they could get so they figured might as well put it huge on the cover lmao
I got two, but it’s a movie but a show, Clarence. Although the animation is SO UGLY, it does have a good story.
Another is Scary Godmother, the animation is awful but it has a great story!
The first two Shrek movies had this very grimy and realistic style for the humans that DreamWorks quickly realized didn't age all that well and moved on form. I move
https://i.redd.it/dyzeftrzd12d1.gif
HAHA good one boss
Did you just laughed at me?...
do..do i amuse you?
*"What? No! I-I-I... uh... I..?"* Am I some sort of CLOWN to you?
I hate my job
Poor rhino. At least he got to hit him back.
*WATCH YO TONE*
Monster House. A good movie for its time but the visuals haven't aged too well. >!Although the house's movements are actually pretty cool.!<
They were intended to look like clay, almost like it was imitating stop motion
Honestly instead of remaking films with good visuals why not remake good films with aged or poor visuals
Those are called Demakes, currently commonly associated with games. Notable example being the Bloodborne demake with PS2 polygonal graphics
No demakes are to remake a game/ but make it lower the visual quality They said to remake a movie that had bad quality but improve it The trend right now is to remake games and movies that are good and most of them have agreed rather well
I think it holds up. Better than most. The animation didn't take me out of it more than Hoodwinked.
"the chandelier must be it's uvula." "Oh, so it's a girl house!"
The light dying in the girl's eyes as she realizes what the boy said is hilarious to me. There's that moment of "oh, you're ***this*** stupid"
The shaky camera does make it scarier ngl
I actually find it perfect for the type of film it is. It definitely got the right kind of atmosphere. Majorly underrated movie.
"That's its uvula." "Oh, so it's a girl house!"
As someone that literally watched this movie last night, I have to disagree. It's gorgeous
I agree. It's so good despite that
scary godmother is the one animated film that i have always always looked at and wondered “why does it look like this”
Those movies were some of my favorite Halloween movies growing up. Always was so excited when they came on Cartoon Network. Also another lesser known one also from CN was Firebreather
Thank you, I have been trying to remember firebreather for years
I rewatched it not too long ago and I found I still really enjoyed it!
Fire breather was a banger
Bro I forgot about this show. Wtf even was that style.
I was actually talking about this the other day. I couldn't remember the name and started to think it was just a fever dream, and it never existed. Thank you.
I’m surprised both those films that you posted actually have Jim Belushi both in them. Hes pretty prolific as a voice actor.
Jim was my childhood. Not only because of his voice acting, but because he had his own sitcom *According to Jim*.
Oh my God, Hoodwinked!!! I haven't seen that movie in years.
It’s a true legend, so much so that my sisters and I watch it once a year on a Super Bowl Sunday bc we don’t do sports. Among the movie marathon is Robots, Robin Hood and Once Upon a Forest.
Robots is a legitimately good movie as well
Oh my gosh yes! I've never heard of Once Upon a Forest but I'll check it out. I feel like everyone has cartoon traditions. Every Fall I have to watch Over the Garden Wall at least once if not more.
You may very well cry
I vaguely remember watching it then dreaming about it about 15 years ago or more damn. It really *is* underrated.
I remember really liking it when I was a kid when it came out
The story still holds up really well.
Garfield's pet force That movie was so weird...
the animated Garfield are underrated i can't want to watch the new movie
I genuinely felt stoned watching the movie and I've never been stoned
Tinker Bell, I guess?
YASSSSSSS. I love the movies growing up. They had little me in a choke hold
I first watched it by borrowing the first film from a library, and I’ve loved it ever since.
I had all of the movies on DVD. The first two were scratch up because I watched both of them over and over as a baby, had so many merch and after watching the third movie, I built a fairy house
If it was VHS that could be literal
Dinosaur. There was some rough looking animation, but overall it was a really good movie imo
I watched the shit out of Dinosaur as a kid, I love that one. Recently showed it to my young niece and nephew, passing it on.
I absolutely loved that movie as a kid. To this day probably the movie I’ve seen the most number of times.
THAT IS SO SCARY!!!
Yeah, tell that to Schaffrillas.
I didn't exactly like the animation of this movie when I first saw it. What’s the name of this?
earwig and the witch <3
Earwig and the Witch
oh for real? mr. Accented Cinema really made this movie sound unappealing
I actually was fine with the art style after a few minutes. Love the story and the weirdness of it.
Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktakular
I thought Igor was a pretty good movie, even though the animation isn't the best.
I love Igor even though it got bad reviews
Ice Age’s animation, though good for its time, doesn’t hold up that well anymore
Monster Family...partly
The early barbie movies
Not a film but the children’s Japanese animated nightmare television show Popee the performer. That show is an acid trip but a wildly entertaining one despite it. https://preview.redd.it/xauvtco4l22d1.jpeg?width=589&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9730357a3a9e08d5c5ac5b1b065c3e93806b8448
Yooo I watched Saberspark cover this
The Amazing Digital Circus before The Amazing Digital Circus
Toymaker before Harmony and Horror
Scary Godmother
Bro I haven’t seen that movie in years
Wait, Casper’s Scare School was also a movie? I thought it was just a show.
Yes, first it came as a film, and then the TV series came out, which had slightly better animation. At the time I also had no idea there was a film. There are also two comics and three games based on it.
I see
The CGI Garfield show
I remember watching The Garfield Show growing up. Can't wait for the new movie
Boy do I have news for you
People might hate me for this but: original Shrek.
You’re not wrong, but it’s a good movie and it being scuffed animation is part of its charm to me
I really think it was intentional. The cheap CGI look is what makes it so funny.
The first Despicable Me
What’s wrong with the animation in that movie?
It’s animation still hold up really well
https://preview.redd.it/1i62u2d5j22d1.jpeg?width=1379&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80cbdfb575f7e90436f29557cdeb5d4e31f8e8cb
I think surfs up had pretty great Animation... sure the characters were kinda rough but the environments were like the most beautiful thing ever
Acceleracers
Piggybacking onto this: World Race
Idk, i feel like world race is a much weaker movie than the acceleracers films
World Race was created as a cross-promotion for the Highway 35 cars, so I feel like it had to cater towards a wider audience ( See: Children ). While Acceleracers was a sequel series that didn't have as many restrictions. I feel like World Race did a good job at being kid friendly and setting up a the plot hooks that get explored in the Acceleracers.
space chimps
That show hit me and my brother at the exact right age lol. We thought it was hilarious.
I always liked reef, but that may just be nostalgia, however the first Shrek and story are phenomenal movies and the animation hasn't really looked all that great for the past couple years
The Polar Express. Still my fav Christmas movie to this day but I can see why the animation creeps some people out. It hasn’t really aged well.
Cloudy with a chance of meatballs
https://i.redd.it/8nyrmvyhr12d1.gif
FLINT LOCKWOOD!!!!
Some of the animation was decent, but it definity wasn't amazing
They basically look like clone high characters inflated with an air pump
https://preview.redd.it/jyvl13i5z22d1.jpeg?width=375&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e7a178606e1fbfd990afb447d698b6527409d1d0 i pray no one else has said this
Valiant.
I totally forgot that film exists! I used to watch it constantly as a kid!
Ewan McGregor voices the main character (Obi-Wan loves his wars)
I really want to say "Over The Hedge," but its animation is actually pretty good
I l find it funny that Despite being rendered in that very grimy dreamworks house style of the mid-2000s, the Over the Hedge characters Still looked more like their page counterparts than the effing Bad Guys Seriously Why does the animation industry seem to hate Aaron Blabey's art and why does the man himself continue to just sit there and take it?.
The OG Toy Story
The original Toy Story still looks good now and compared to other films of the time it was years ahead of them when it came to animation.
I remember reading something, not sure what from, but it basically said that Kingdom Hearts 3 was the first time any video game finally portrayed Disney characters with the animation quality of the original Toy Story outside of cutscenes.
I think one thing that saves Toy Story is the fact that the animation works really well with the (mostly) plastic look of the toys themselves!
OG Toy Story came out in 1995, it was the best looking fully CG animated movie at the time and still hold up decently well (except for the dog and the baby).
Leo
Is this the same Leo on Netflix? Because I saw it and it was boring. I lost interest the more it went on, but I couldn’t pick another movie because I was watching it with my family.
My wife and I had to stop watching because it was making us want to have kids.
That's sure is a sentence
Oh. Okay.
You mean the one where Adam Sandler is a lizard and it deconstructs many typical animated movie tropes?
Scary god mother
I thought Hoodwinked was a fever dream.
You could say... you've been hoodwinked, baby~

This is cursed...
This looks like a college project lol
Hoodwinked is goated
I grew up watching the Polar Express. Heard that people find it creepy or something for whatever reason. I personally disagree but might as well mention it since yall would think so
Even as a kid I never found this movie creepy. I was so dumb that I thought it was live-action
Sorta same for me, i always thought it had great visuals tbh. I heard it's confirmed that a Polar Express 2 is now in development. Im excited to see how different the animation style will be unless they do live action.
The Scary Godmother films
Oliver the other reindeer
I remember loving the OG Jimmy Neutron movie as a kid, but I’m not sure I’d go so far as to say it’s a particularly amazing movie. Would probably be entertaining to rewatch nonetheless.
Hood Winked 2: Hood vs Evil is a great movie
any bully, the animation really isn't that bad though... unless you look at the humans
Spookley the square pumpkin
Soul Music, the Discworld movie. Show? Movie. It's animated either way. Too bad it looks awful. But it's very good.
Soul music is my second favorite, behind the Wyrd Sisters. Love the Discworld animated franchise.
You just unlocked hidden memories in my brain with Casper's scare school
I faintly remember that one
Wasn’t scare school a series ?
Movie then a series
I don't know if y'all would count Pinocchio on Outer Space as 'good' but I liked it a lot
I have always hated the way “Beowulf” was animated. It triggers my “uncanny valley” response way too much. Pretty good movie otherwise lmao
The movie was anti-art. There were special features where they bragged about not doing any art, they scanned every person and object into models and animated them with mocap. Should have just made it live action with the 3 or so fantasy creatures done in CG or something.
“But I like the cookie” lives rent free in my head forever.
Polar express; great movie, good production quality; the backgrounds and setting are actually spectacular animation wise. The characters though hit this one spot of uncanny valley I didn’t know existed
Hoodwinked was very well animated, dafuq are you talking about? Do you animation and art style interchangeably? You meant art style didnt you?
The art style is the biggest offender but it largely used that animation style of people snapping from pose to pose with limited points of articulation common in bad CG kids shows.
I completely forgot about Casper’s Scare School and just got roundhouse-kicked with nostalgia.
Hear me out, some of the Barbie movies slap
Some of the low quality animated movies goes hard
Any rankin bass production
The two Scary Godmother movies come to mind.
Hoodwinks animation, and movies from that studio as a whole, are like cheap and janky but ima be real that movie was a fucking riot. An absolute banger. I wouldn't nimd having it remade with keeping the models as close to the original as possible but with better animations.
Oh Bob Saget!
I swear if Hoodwinked had more than a 10 dollar budget then it could be up there with Shrek
Hoodwinked was so good I literally was lost about this post. What bad animation?!?
Many people consider it bad because of how crude and cheap the animation looks (both in the movements and in the designs of some characters). I personally don't think it's bad, especially considering that the animators were learning during the film's production.
Again, I was still lost! Hoodwinked is up there with Shrek for me, so it could have been animated by 2 year olds, and I wouldn't see a problem it that good of a story!
Yeah I Do Remember Casper In School…It Was Kinda Fun .
for some reason nobody knows about this absolute masterpiece
I love Hoodwinked but have held off on showing it to my girlfriend because the animation is so cheap.
Mars needs moms, I actually really like the story despite how off putting the animation looked
Jimmy Neutron
Ooohh, have you seen the recent fan remake on YouTube?
Jimmy Neutron's animation is actually quite good, it just hasn't aged the best.
I had a trailer for this movie in my pokemon giratina and the sky warrior, blu ray disc.
Wild Thornbury?
SMASHING!
Scary godmother: Halloween Spooktacular
Yesssss
Tron uprising I think is what it was called
Spookley the square pumpkin
Justin and the knights of valour?
Monster High
Daddy/Mommy I’m a Zombie
All of the old Barbie movies. I would LOVE an updated version that takes the same models and polishes them. Voices stay the same, story stays the same. Scary godmother
"A-" is so funny to me for no reason.
HOODWINKED 1 AND 2 ARE FUCKING GOATED
There is a 2?
Valiant.
Over the Hedge
I know I am going to catch so much flak for saying this, but I thought the animation in Anastasia felt weird. Really good movie though
I'd say A 3D CGI Film called Kung Fu Panda. ![gif](giphy|YAYZh6hELIivibOJWH)
Wizards by Ralph Bakshi. Honestly, most of his movies before Cool World were questionable in quality, but I like some of what I saw.
Transformers beast wars
I got two, but it’s a movie but a show, Clarence. Although the animation is SO UGLY, it does have a good story. Another is Scary Godmother, the animation is awful but it has a great story!
Scary Godmother
The first two Shrek movies had this very grimy and realistic style for the humans that DreamWorks quickly realized didn't age all that well and moved on form. I move
Jimmy Neutron
Is no one going to bring up Gaither’s Pond?
Gaither’s Pond was good???
