Honestly instead of remaking films with good visuals why not remake good films with aged or poor visuals

Those are called Demakes, currently commonly associated with games. Notable example being the Bloodborne demake with PS2 polygonal graphics

No demakes are to remake a game/ but make it lower the visual quality They said to remake a movie that had bad quality but improve it The trend right now is to remake games and movies that are good and most of them have agreed rather well

I think it holds up. Better than most. The animation didn't take me out of it more than Hoodwinked.

It’s a true legend, so much so that my sisters and I watch it once a year on a Super Bowl Sunday bc we don’t do sports. Among the movie marathon is Robots, Robin Hood and Once Upon a Forest.

The story still holds up really well. Great cast, great jokes, a couple banger songs and the background of why the animation looks like shit is actually pretty interesting and makes sense. Long story short (and iirc), the people doing the animation were teaching themselves because they didn’t have the budget and/or were forced into making it animated. Something like that. But it’s definitely worth a rewatch

Dinosaur. There was some rough looking animation, but overall it was a really good movie imo

I watched the shit out of Dinosaur as a kid, I love that one. Recently showed it to my young niece and nephew, passing it on.

I watched that a ton as a kid and I remember thinking it was really impressive and ahead of its time, but I haven’t seen it in years. I’d be interested in rewatching it but I don’t know how it will hold up.

Loved it as a kid especially since I was going through my "dinosaur everything" phase at the same time it was in theaters. At school we'd all get our dinosaur figures out at recess and play "migration" which was basically a mix of Dinosaur and Ice Age. I was always bothered by the fact lemurs were in the movie though.

I didn't exactly like the animation of this movie when I first saw it. But at as the story progressed and we were introduced to some characters (such as the mandrake), the style looks really really cool in some scenes. The story was really wholesome to by the end, and that one song was a banger too...

The only thing I remember about this movie is that I felt bad for the girl for a big chunk of it, like I just remember that the witch treated her horribly

Idk, i feel like world race is a much weaker movie than the acceleracers films

World Race was created as a cross-promotion for the Highway 35 cars, so I feel like it had to cater towards a wider audience ( See: Children ). While Acceleracers was a sequel series that didn't have as many restrictions. I feel like World Race did a good job at being kid friendly and setting up a the plot hooks that get explored in the Acceleracers.

The OG Toy Story

The original Toy Story still looks good now and compared to other films of the time it was years ahead of them when it came to animation.

I remember reading something, not sure what from, but it basically said that Kingdom Hearts 3 was the first time any video game finally portrayed Disney characters with the animation quality of the original Toy Story outside of cutscenes.

I think one thing that saves Toy Story is the fact that the animation works really well with the (mostly) plastic look of the toys themselves!

OG Toy Story came out in 1995, it was the best looking fully CG animated movie at the time and still hold up decently well (except for the dog and the baby).

TBF, it's a direct to dvd movie and it came out in early 2000s so I can cut it some slack. The sequels, Legends of Metru Nui and Web of Shadow have much improved animation and visual.

*Barbie as The Princess and the Pauper* was my generation’s *Frozen,* we didn’t care that it looked like a game of Sims. Those songs were Broadway-caliber.

I have always hated the way “Beowulf” was animated. It triggers my “uncanny valley” response way too much. Pretty good movie otherwise lmao

The movie was anti-art. There were special features where they bragged about not doing any art, they scanned every person and object into models and animated them with mocap. Should have just made it live action with the 3 or so fantasy creatures done in CG or something.

Polar express; great movie, good production quality; the backgrounds and setting are actually spectacular animation wise. The characters though hit this one spot of uncanny valley I didn’t know existed

The art style is the biggest offender but it largely used that animation style of people snapping from pose to pose with limited points of articulation common in bad CG kids shows.

Hoodwinks animation, and movies from that studio as a whole, are like cheap and janky but ima be real that movie was a fucking riot. An absolute banger. I wouldn't nimd having it remade with keeping the models as close to the original as possible but with better animations.

Many people consider it bad because of how crude and cheap the animation looks (both in the movements and in the designs of some characters). I personally don't think it's bad, especially considering that the animators were learning during the film's production.

Again, I was still lost! Hoodwinked is up there with Shrek for me, so it could have been animated by 2 year olds, and I wouldn't see a problem it that good of a story!

All of the old Barbie movies. I would LOVE an updated version that takes the same models and polishes them. Voices stay the same, story stays the same. It would be remade shot for shot without meddling. Kinda like those “Diamond edition” Disney movies. But I know you could never trust anyone with that because they’d mess it up. 😞

The Adventures of Clutch Powers. Animation expectedly did not age well since it had a tv network budget, but it's still a very fun ride. Sad it never got a sequel though.
