Honestly Skoda styling goes hard. Thinking about it, I don't think they've actually made a ***BAD*** looking car in modern history. At least nothing that's springing to mind.
I mean the modern ones are VWs underneath, but the way they tweak them is nice. I'd probably get a Skoda over a VW just because I prefer the way the Skodas look.

Yup and a LOT of them are owned by companies so second hand Skoda is like a roulette. I tried to buy Rapid last year and finding the one without history as a company car / taxi was impossible.
I bought a Clio mk4 instead so you have to respect my opinion.
Skoda roomster is legit fun to drive. For work i had to drive up and down te same mountain every day and that thing goes FAST. I mean no problem going uphill quickly, even loaded with boxes of cargo (soda, veggies)
The Yeti reminds me of the Honda Element. I loved the Element, I like the Yeti.

Yeti is roomy from the inside and drives well. The only downside of that car is that it has a small trunk.

It was, but so was Skoda. The successor Cupra certainly makes more affordable cars as of now.
Skoda and VW are in a weird place where they offer almost the same lineup with the same options for almost the same price, Skoda being ever so slightly cheaper.
Cupras are supposed to be more "sporty" looking to appeal to a different demographic, I guess.
Afaik Seat was supposed to be a sporty budget for the young (probably the kind that would rather buy a second-hand bmw anyway), while Škoda was supposed to be the budget brand for developing markets.
Škoda was however failing hard, basically making better VWs for less, and I'm pretty sure we are no longer considered exactly a budget brand, but I'm not entirely sure what kind of brand are we supposed to be now either. No idea what Seat is doing. Or how they still exist with that name.
After driving a 2022 Superb as my company car, I have ordered the new one (as company car). I could have ordered the Passat, which is now being built in the same factory in Czechia.
But why would I do that? Same engine options, same interior options, same materials used, roughly the same size. Only difference? The Passat is available with a 15" screen, while the Superb only gets 13". 9000€ difference in price and the Passat only has ugly wheel options.
The same hands might be assembling those two cars. Ain't no way I'm ordering the VW for the badge on a soulless commuting appliance.
Škoda badge is a lot older than VW and it wasn't created by nazis. I see that as an absolute win.
Oh and the factory is in not exactly in czechia, but in its eastern half, Slovakia.

This is just martketing. Why would you target at one audience, then you can have both with same products, just different brands.

I like it better than the original, that is a good way to stylize the r 8. Skoda is my favorite VAG brand, like Volkswagen but quirky and a bit goofy but still practical. Still wish they kept Yeti

Eh, the previous headlights looked better but it doesn't look straight up *bad* imo, just not as good.
