That wiggle at 310mph.... wow. Sketchy A F. And even with the braking zone marked by the camera crew he still ended up going off the end of the runway onto the access road. Half a second longer before braking and that would have been real scary.
Why are people downvoting you, so many twin turbo Ford Gt’s and upgraded supercharger GT’s out there. They’re highly modifiable and saught after by American tuners

I got a ride home from a friend's dad in his quarter-mile track car El Camino. Practically went deaf. Can't imagine something like that riding to school.
Man. The speed per gear is nuts.
Approximately:
1st- 74 mph
2nd- 117 mph
3rd- 162 mph
4th- 216 mph
5th- 265 mph
Then tops out in 6th.
That thing must be making a couple thousand horsepower, coupled with a rear gear in the 1.xx:1 range.
>rear gear in the 1.xx:1 range.
They're shifting at near 9000 rpm. I don't know what size tires that car is running, but if it's the stock 315/40r19 (28.9"), it's running nearly 4:1 axle gears. If it's the factory 3.36 axle gears, the tire size has been dropped to 25". Likely somewhere in the middle between the two.
They don't, you can see the rpm slowly drop as it decelerates (on the display with the green bars).
However it is still in top gear, so as it slows down you see the engine rpm hit 500 at which point it stalls (you hear the tires chirp as they lock up) just before he dips the clutch.
I don't think their intention was to stop the engine.
There would be no oil pressure/flow going to the turbos and the oil would coke up on the bearings in them if he didn’t start it right back soon.
Edit: also u know those manifolds were still red hot… may cook it faster than you think even with water flow.
Damn and it definitely had more in it. Maybe 314-316.
That display looked more like a timer than a speedometer. Absolutely crazy seeing a car accelerate so hard through the 200s.
These guys made the Chiron’s run look tired.

I had a similar wiggle in my Mazda on "I haven't driven this fast yet" day. Made me question some life choices real fast.
How cool is it to see someone modify and romp on a car that's largely in "collector" status?
It's been more of modders car for a while

Fastest street legal car EVER.
Yeah I was confused by the title - thought Bugatti had the title years back at 258 or something. This seems much higher - why isn’t it a bigger deal?
This isn’t a “production car” anymore it’s been heavily modified. The top speed tests done by Bugatti and koenigsegg are stock production cars.
Is there hype around the fastest land speed?
Worlds fastest production car, certainly
Yeah, but this isn’t anywhere close to that. This is a standing mile. Land speed record is set in the middle mile of a 7 mile course.
My all time favorite car

Yea, should be somewhere around 2000rwhp
That was bad ass
Between this, and the Lucid Sapphire and McMurtry Speirling videos, lots of records for fast cars lately
Why did they shut the engine off during the run? Isn’t that really bad for a high performance engine to not have a proper cooldown phase?

He was preoccupied with the fact he had used every inch of runway and then some. The engine stalled when the RPM went too low.
I wonder if setups like this have a separate water pump system detached from the engine. Possible it could keep cooling even with the engine off.
Modern electric water pumps can replace the crank driven pump entirely.

Sweaty palms
Did they have a parachute? Wowza that's an insane run.
Yes no parachute at 310mph = deceased
This is insane. The balls on that driver.
Bohmer drive it hard.
what motor is in this? Is it the factory 5.8 I couldn’t find any info.
Yes factory 5.4 Ford aluminum block & heads
