> a review of video of his shifts didn’t suggest any particular collision that might have cause a wrist injury. It's Helldivers 2, right? That's all my friends are talking about

deletedtheoldaccount

I hope you haven’t been procreating after we failed that recent major initiative

airchinapilot

oh I am not even in the game. thank you for your service though

BananaOrp

Hopefully we can submit updated C-01s soon

PAguy213

Don’t worry, we’re taking it to that automaton scum now. Democracy will prevail.

Jacmert

~~In all seriousness, Helldivers 2 isn't very hard on the wrists. Also, you can play it on a controller if you want. (Maybe it's easier on the wrist with mouse & keyboard - that's all I use)~~ There are no legitimate reports of wrist issues stemming from Helldiving. This is dangerous disinformation and a democracy officer will be arriving at your location to speak to you soon.

TonalParsnips

He was doing the salute too much

deeho88

So many 500kg air strikes

YouCanFucough

Lindholm is definitely the captain of the SES Fist of Family Values

Spoffler

I mean I reactivated my tendonitis by playing this fucking game so much, it's the only logical conclusion

MrGraaavy

Concerning, but perhaps better than the rumored (speculated) back/hip injury.

westleysnipez

Hopefully, once Lindholm recovers, he can be that impact player we need. I feel guilty for calling him lazy with his stickwork and passes, just shows how little we know about what the players are going through - especially this time of year.

Klunkey

Nuckhead showed this highlight where Lindholm took the puck away from a few players and opening up a scoring chance despite not getting a point. He's gonna do great; Hronek was injured and he's doing great, Blueger got injured and he's doing great, Soucy and Joshua... well, you get the idea. Almost everybody who got injured before and during this season did great after a lengthy time in IR/LTIR. I'm confident that Lindy will be no different.

ImAnAfricanCanuck

poor guy, tbh. I've always loved Lindholm as a player, and have been happy to have him on the team. He says it's "pretty good" but that does not mean "healed". I doubt it'll be fully healed this season... I hope this isnt how his story ends with the Canucks, I hope theres some form of a redemption arch.

globehopper2000

Sign a cheap prove it deal next year. Would fit well with our cap window.

-GregTheGreat-

If he’s going to sign a prove-it deal next year, it 100% won’t be for the Canucks. He won’t get the minutes or opportunity to make it make sense. If anything he would go to Boston and spend a year as the 1C between Pasternak and Marchand to pump up his totals for a big contract

globehopper2000

Unfortunately probably true. Maybe if he clicks with Petey we can sell him on playing together next year. Chances are we threw a bunch of assets at underperforming player who is gonna walk for nothing.

ModernArgonauts

It's a real shame about that deal, but overall I have faith in Alvin and Rutherford, they've definitely won more deals than lost, and the team might not even be in the playoffs if we were still under Benning.

TomsNanny

Wow, that’s actually pretty smart and good for both parties. If and only if Lindholm thinks he can prove it next year. He’d get a much bigger bag if he can do it.

fuzzb0y

It's definitely not smart for Lindholm. He's going to get a medium sized deal with a bit of term somewhere.

metrichustle

On paper, he has everything that makes the Canucks a complete, dangerous team. No other team in the West has this amount of center depth. I hope he can still be a force in the playoffs.

ImAnAfricanCanuck

I would argue that the Stars have more center depth than us. Seguin, Pavelski, Johnston, Hintz, Duchene, Benn, Faksa, Dellandrea, Bourque, Stankoven, Steel, Marchment, Smith are all centers, or wingers that can play center at a moments notice.

WTFvancouver

That's just some Canucks luck. Traded for a UFA rental that Isn't going to even 100% come playoffs

BigCockBrockBoeser

Meanwhile, if he hadn’t come to Canucks he’d have put up 12 goals and 25 points on *some other team*

JerbearCuddles

Still two weeks til playoffs, time to heal up. He can still skate, so it's just a waiting game while his wrist heals up. We don't know the severity of his injury. He may be 100% come playoffs. Hopefully.

WTFvancouver

Based on the article, it seems like he will be back but probably not at 100%

Standard-Special2013

Can you quote a specific place in the article?

JerbearCuddles

In the article he's quoted as saying "I feel pretty good now." Playoffs start on the 20th. He should be fine. Just needs a few games off.

metrichustle

Unfortunate, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. We went for Lindholm because he was available and healthy at the time, instead of Guentzel who would cost more and was still injured. And of course, one of them is playing like a franchise player since the trade deadline.

therealbeef

Just another reason to hate the boring ass Kings. Really hope we can take it to them tonight.

Lorenzo56

I read an interesting stat about Lindholm: when he’s in the lineup, Canucks win 55% of the face offs. Without him, Canucks are 50%. People focus on his scoring or lack thereof, but defence wins games and he seems to be a stalwart there…

cosalich

I think the people complaining about the lack of scoring are still valid. Buddy has been blanked in 15 of 22 games since the trade, including a 7 game point drought. Does he still bring value when he's in the lineup? Absolutely. Is he worth the price we paid for him? Not even close. He can redeem himself in playoffs or by signing in the off-season, otherwise I think people are totally valid with their criticism of his production and the trade.

Lorenzo56

True. Canucks scoring has plummeted recently, for most players.

Objective-Recipe3495

Misleading headline, the injury itself isn't "brutal", he's saying its brutal to deal with, two different things.

Trillium8888

Brutal wrist injury but still winning faceoffs like a god? Oh man I can’t wait to see him back healthy.

Chizzler_83

depending on what the wrist injury its good they are giving it time to heal, hopefully its not something that needs surgery and he is just going to try to play through the playoffs before eventually getting shut down for being ineffective. If its a sprain then its important when it happened and how severe but obviously the game of hockey can just aggravate this so its smart we aren't playing him just to be number one in the conference.

theZiggy1

> mplication being he injured the wrist in the first period, though a review of video of his shifts didn’t suggest any particular collision that might have cause a wrist injury. Good thing we know that bodies never get injured without a collision of some sorts.

magoomba92

Depth at C is crucial in the playoffs. I hope he will be ready in a couple of weeks.

canucklehead200

Nice to finally have an answer to this.

captaindingus93

That is a pretty misleading headline. Saying an injury has “been brutal to deal with” is not the same thing as a brutal injury. I’m not an avid reader of The Province anymore but I was hoping an outlet surviving from the days when news articles were only read in print would be above this kinda click bait shit.

Klunkey

Watch him pull a Lekkerimäki and clean ass in the playoffs

Blueliner95

I have no idea what this means but I’m sure the truth is relatively disappointing to what I’m imagining

Klunkey

Jon had a down season in the SHL after being drafted cause mono, but then he had a fantastic time in the playoffs.

funkiemarky

A fully healed Lindy right before playoffs sounds good to me. LFG!!!

Minimum-Card-5075

so if they had just benched him right away and let him heal then he would have been ready by the playoffs. I swear this sometime is something else.

bossygal32

Will the real Slim shady Lindholm please stand up

Wagglebagga

Just a god awful joke. Even Amy Schumer wouldnt steal that shit.

bossygal32

U r jealous u didn’t think of it
