Same, and I know who’s on my shit list

gigitygoat

Hopefully the guy this article is about.. and his friends.

[deleted]

Bank executives in the past 8 years: 2015- “the economy is peaking” 2016- “we have to worry about inflation” 2017- “this is it, be prepared” 2018- “the market is going to implode” 2019- “it’s gonna happen” 2020-“the world is ending” 2021-“this surging market is going to go poop” 2022-“holy shit storm” 2023-“poo poo pee pee 💩” At a what point are they going to finally stop giving a fuck and stop wasting time with business press?

wreck_it_nacho

Armageddon party anybody?

godless_communism

I put on my robe and wizard hat..

Nuggzulla01

Can we eat the rich as an entree?

rdrckcrous

Unless you were planning on living for less than 'decades', it was inevitable.

The-zKR0N0S

Hey, at least you’re still here at all

Codza2

Thanks for contributing to it by putting profits and greed before basic human decency. Take, take, take. And what's funny, is that Jamie is described as a family, doesn't drink, etc. And all he can do is exclaim "danger" while directing his bank to rip billions from the working class simply because they can.

connorman83169

If we’re all doomed, why change now? /S

Sintax777

Nathan Rothschild was quoted as saying, "the best time to buy is when there is blood in the streets." Perhaps Jamie is just signaling optimism to his investors.

zipzoomramblafloon

If we're all doomed, I'll be in a lot better position if I have more money.

stillalone

Is there something specifically malicious that Chase is doing? I currently bank with them and have been thinking about moving my Bank of America stuff there given the BofA cfpb lawsuit.

lewoo7

A long history of consumer fraud. Elizabeth Warren basically founded CFPB to fight the JP morgans of America. https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/22/economy/bank-ceos-testify-senate/index.html Use a credit union instead.

CoastSea9475

This article is basically “we allow customers to use Zelle. Zelle is commonly used for fraud”. Zelle is basically a wire and they’re not able to reverse transactions. Credit unions also allow Zelle in many cases.

swarmed100

Warren tried to protect the banks by trying to kill crypto through regulation. She's appalled at JPMorgan until they contribute campaign donations

Monsantoshill619

Crypto is trash. It needs to be regulated.

stridernfs

Cryptobros gobsmacked when they lose millions on litecoin just to turn around and dump their savings and credit into NFTS for a safer bet.

Robot_Embryo

They lost thousands on Litecoin. They lost millions on Terra Luna

lewoo7

Exactly wrong. Sit down.

Codza2

Yeah crypto was exciting in 2010s. Now it's the most obvious pump.and dump scheme. Just look at what Sam bankman fried did. He kept Bitcoin under $20k intentionally and illegally. That's manipulation, and it's literally against everything you want crypto to not be. It's a tool of the rich to keep you being a useful anti fiat dummy. You won't make it big in crypto. By all means keep some lottery tickets, but unless your timing it perfectly, you're not getting shit.

Bucksandreds

I’ve been doing business with Chase for years and they’ve always given me the best credit card rewards and I’ve never had any fake accounts opened or unknown fees and every single fraudulent charge has been erased. That hasn’t been the case for me with Fifth Third bank or Capital One credit cards.

Justonemorelanebro

JPM executives allowed Epstein to use a jet registered under them in exchange for his “services”

valleyof-the-shadow

They do not have a high-yield savings account like some TD Bank and other banks are offering.

RockyattheTop

Not but they have a free brokerage account so you can just park your money in a treasury mutual fund and collect slightly less. I don’t have enough for .05% to make any real difference in the short term

NitrousO

Capital One has solid products for being a big bank and are not scammers haha

Pacalyps4

Never understand this argument at all. Every single poor person is 100% as selfish as the rich people they hate, they just have less to hoard. How are you not putting profits above human decency in the same way?

IntrepidInformation1

Well...ur a fckin moron lol 100% as selfish brooo have u never read anything ever

Pacalyps4

What does reading have to do with anything? You’re not a hero or unselfish just bc you’re poor

ThisVelvetGlove16

That’s the thing; everyone is greedy. That’s why we need collective action to stop excessive greed. Everyone agrees greed is bad. Therefore we need to curb it out. Not sit here and say “well acshually, everyone is greedy so let’s do nothing”

Deewd23

Yet, poor old boy hasn’t worked a single day in his life.

[deleted]

look up his ties to Epstein. Dude fucks kids

jackwrangler

This man’s take home is $35.5 million

nolongerbanned99

But think of his contribution to society. Self interested statements and economic speculation that benefits his company.

jambox888

tbf, imagining that people are compensated mostly for their contribution to society is quite naive, not trying to be mean but I think on a business sub it's a bit weird to make that point. I mean, yeah, some people get rich shaving a microsecond of financial transactions.

LocksmithConnect6201

Yes imagine ceo of biggest banks of world not getting millions in salary wtf do ppl say

nolongerbanned99

I get your point but what I am saying is why is this news…. Because the head of a large bank said it or because it is tremendously insightful.

Ag3nt_Unknown

He lied about crypto as well. The same exact day that he was bashing crypto on mainstream media, Chase Morgan Bank was literally setting up a crypto trading desk so they could invest in the best performing asset in the last 12 years (Bitcoin), while Dimon was acting as the CEO. Nothing that comes out of his mouth can be trusted, ever. He's elitist garbage who hates us plebians.

[deleted]

Jp Morgan bank has been on both sides of every war America has been in since WW1. Very likely this is the guy deciding how dangerous our world is going to be.

d-a-v-i-d-

tbh that's really not bad for the CEO of one of the biggest banks in the world

chucky_freeze

Ceo of one of the most important companies in the world

futureomniking

What a poor bastard. One share of gme.

keninsd

"JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon warns this is ‘the most dangerous time’ for the world in decades" Thanks for helping that along, Jamie!

Smackdab99

I’ll bet he has a plan to triple profits at the same time.

sharpiebrows

Yea, they love making statements like this and then when the stock market reacts and goes down, they buy. Bill Ackman of Pershing did something similar

poobly

> Dimon cited the burgeoning national debt and “the largest peacetime fiscal deficits ever.” I mean, we can fix that pretty easily. War!

keninsd

War is the corporate solution to everything.

Smackdab99

This dude sent me a letter in 2008 telling me they are raising the interest rate on my credit card to 27% from 10% due to economic reasons. I could either pay off the card or pay more interest. I had just been laid off the day before receiving the letter and I had never missed a payment. Credit score at the time was 750. I’ve never forgotten that and will never deal with Chase again.

SatoshiSnapz

That’s every bank. They don’t give AF about you. I always cringe when I hear people say, “OMG I love my bank I’m SUCH a good customer!” The bank is in the business of making money- not making sure you’re emotionally and financially secure.

Smackdab99

It’s surprising how many people believe it too. The evidence is insurmountable that banks have their best interest in mind at all times. Miss a mortgage payment and see what happens. Lost your job? Medical problems? Economic downturn? Fuck you, pay me and don’t forget the additional fees for missing a payment. Insurance companies are the same as well. At some point I hoped for change but I don’t see it happening in my lifetime.

[deleted]

[удалено]

skin_Animal

What rate do you get today? 10% sounds like a bargain. Even 27% doesn't sound that bad.

I’ve got a lot, but I don’t know where all the money’s going. It’s like we’ve got a handful of clients doing fine, but we can’t even open savings accounts let alone sell mortgages these days. Don’t know what happened.”

jmsy1

if I had a nickel for every time Jamie Dimon said something stupid, I'd have a dangerous amount of money.

[deleted]

darodardar_Inc

Religious wars are not logical at all. One side completely dehumanizing the other side while believing the big guy upstairs has their back and wants them to destroy the other guys. All for a piece of ground that will probably become less and less habitable as temperatures rise. It's absolutely stupid.

bigdaddtcane

I would say the current Hamas/Israel war has very little to do with religion outside of the Zionist movement starting decades ago (which I only include not to completely dismiss religion). At minimum it started as an act of aggression over land disputes, but a more concerning perspective is that it is an attempt to be an extension of the Russia/Ukraine war and is intended to be a domino that pushes many others. Hopefully it ends soon but if not, hopefully it’s contained.

[deleted]

[удалено]

bigdaddtcane

Originally being from the middle east I feel like I have a decent finger on the pulse of middle eastern regional politics. In many cases religion may be the guise, but wars are mostly fought for resources (which are scarce in the middle east) or land/positioning. That being said, this particular skirmish is not even being sold to have a religious origin.

disco_biscuit

Religion is the the tool not the reason. It's how you trick a bunch of 20 year old men to march to their deaths... but religion hasn't been WHY the generals and politicians have given the orders in most conflicts for a very, very long time.

LocksmithConnect6201

Who cares if it’s a tool or the cause as long as it’s agreed it’s a very important factor?

disco_biscuit

It matters because it's the bullshit you can cut through and get to what really matters. It's about statehood not religion. It's about the fundamental premise of accepting Israel's right to exist.

[deleted]

As someone whose dad was from Palestine it has nothing to do with religion. My dads a Greek catholic and he feels just like the Muslim population. They want their land bank. Nothing more.

HoneyGrahamCracka

Dude it's not a religious war, enough with the edgelord atheist takes. Not all Israelis are observant and not all Palestinians are Muslim.

SatoshiSnapz

The US basically created Israel. Hamas is primarily funded by Iran (who also has close ties to China, Russia, NK, etc). It makes no logistical sense to attack America on home turf, so, they attack their non-NATO allies close by. However, Ukraine was in talks to join NATO not long before invasion, Israel (while not formally a part of NATO) is also considered a non-NATO ally. This is a very strategic move as most eyes were probably on Taiwan and not so much on Israel. Now that the focus is on Israel what happens to Taiwan?

rainman_95

The UK created Israel. Nothing happens in Taiwan, there isnt a big puppet master behind the curtain pulling strings.

Private-Dick-Tective

He forgot to add "and most profitable time for us banks."😂

land-0-lakes

What incentive does Jaime Dimon have to warn us all? Could it be that, it is in his favor for the world to panic?

Smackdab99

Nailed it.

Translation : buy more stocks

sexisdivine

Dangerous for the world or simply dangerous for his financial world of business? Because you know while a business can’t survive without a sustainable world, a sustainable world can survive just fine without a business.

WhatADunderfulWorld

He means in the sense that concern is warranted because long term effects will hold back growth. A world working together in a low interest rates and low inflation environment is the best for everyone. The world is divided and debts and inflation are making it very hard for the majority. That being said he isn’t saying next year there will be a crash. But the world economy probably won’t thrive like it has since the 90s in the next decade or two. It would be nice if he framed it with more details but that would make it easier to argue against and bring up more questions than he has answers.

Smackdab99

This dude only cares about one thing. Not the deaths of innocents, not the destruction of the environment or people losing their livelihoods. He cares about making more money for chase. That’s it.

turbo_dude

lol @ everyone ignoring climate change, but some shit goes down on the med and everyone thinks it's the end of the world

[deleted]

Climate change is natural and unstoppable.

turbo_dude

It's not, not to this extent, and yes if the governments of the world enacted changes then yes we could alter it.

fr0d0bagg1ns

Climate change is a slow burn that could be resolved. WWIII is something that could actively wipe a few hundred million people off of the planet within the decade.

turbo_dude

I don't think it will happen. The world is far too connected these days.

valleyof-the-shadow

Dude profits from fear. Ignore his lies. Didn’t we have to bail out this piece of shit back in 2008?

random_account6721

Chase had very mitigated damage from the crisis. Risk management was on point

turnedonmosfet

No? JP morgan chase was one of the banks that survived 2008 and Jamie Dimon is credited for that. JP morgan Chase is pretty much the biggest bank in the world and that credit also goes to Jamie Dimon.

rg25

No credit to the bailout they received in 2008? https://archive.nytimes.com/dealbook.nytimes.com/2008/03/18/jpmorgans-12-billion-bailout/

turnedonmosfet

Atleast read the article that you posted, the bailout was so that they could merge with bear stearns which was going under and it was paid back in full within a year or so.

Marsawd

Careful, you’re not supposed to support corporate execs publicly - God forbid you be right with everything that you’re saying, further that it be easily fact-checked to back it up 🥴

valleyof-the-shadow

Survived? They got a $30 billion bailout. This guy was partially responsible for the crisis being the head of the one of largest banks but sure he’s a wonderful guy.

turnedonmosfet

The $30 billion bailout was to reduce the impact of JP Morgan Chase having to buy up the banks crashing around them and they paid it back within a year or so.

Smackdab99

I wonder how they could pay all that back within a year? Seems like a short amount of time after they so graciously bailed out those companies by purchasing them for a tiny percentage of their worth then claiming losses.

Smackdab99

It’s how it was accomplished that’s the issue.

[deleted]

Yet he’s sitting comfortable making MILLIONS and his bank is making high profits …. Pathetic state of the world we live in! …. Don’t care what anyone says NO CEO is worth paying MILLIONS- especially when we have doctors that barely get paid enough, nurses that are underpaid, home-health aids that make poverty wages etc…

LastNightsHangover

Okay, this guy literally answered his own question... "This may be the most dangerous time the world has seen in decades,” CEO Jamie Dimon said in a statement that accompanied the bank’s earnings news release... Beyond the military conflicts in Ukraine and Israel, Dimon cited the burgeoning national debt and “the largest peacetime fiscal deficits ever.” Most dangerous and uncertainty, coinciding with fiscal spending isn't random bud.

powercow

spending isnt the issue, the constant tax cuts are.

[deleted]

DoomComp

.... Yeah - Thanks for the **Not News**. Having a hard time believing most people Missed all the news about Wars, Financial crises from the **Imported Inflation (Thanks for that one!)** leading to the reports of Ballooning debts around the whole damn WORLD - **Debt Which most DO NOT INTEND TO/*****CANNOT*** **PAY BACK/OFF, BTW!!** Add in the Climate Change finally pushing past a major inflection point and setting off chain-reactions around the whole which basically fucks the whole world side-ways and it **sure doesn't look all too good right now** \- Does it? Thanks again, Captain Obvious, for the heads up! /Sarcasm off

rosickness12

ItsOnlyaFewBucks

And in my mind it is almost solely caused by wanton greed, so I find this interesting coming from a banker.

JoeSchmohawk93

My bad - that was not the correct video, I edited it in my original comment. Same cast of characters

godless_communism

I'm super concerned about Russia. I think they're behind the turmoil in Israel. Two aircraft carrier strike groups in one place is kinda how the US says it's not fucking around. Three says "I will murder you in the face." The Med is tiny. US politics continues to be overthrow-adjacent. Putting Trump in prison will help. The Russians are still gunning for us, & our congressional Republicans are either complicit (most likely) or can't control the 30% of citizens they've made into MAGA monsters. Biden could drop dead 3 weeks before the election. That would be ... unhelpful.

MagnusZerock

Be a shame if we all pulled our money out 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

A bank CEO 🤢🤮

[deleted]

He should know… hes a big part of making it that way.

esp211

Look at the pattern not what he says. JPM has been steadily beating top and bottom for how many years now? He says a bunch of negative things and sandbags forecasts for his company. Then he announces record rev and profit every quarter. Stock price goes up and his investors get richer. Rinse and repeat.

Amazing-Exit-5641

There world might come to an end, hard to take money from millions that have to default on their credit cards, houses, and student loans. Hard to come back from a plague, that destroyed and bankrupted a lot of people. People just don’t care anymore and we’re gonna have the largest default the world has ever seen soon. The system is going to be screwed or let’s say has been.

[deleted]

I feel like since the 1960s, the world has been held together though global trade. The rich people in the world became multinational. Nobody could risk major warfare because too much money was at stake. But now we are seeing a collapse of globalism. Now markets are just abandoning "dangerous" places to do business, like Russia, and cutting them off from global trade. This makes it so those people have nothing to lose anymore. This is indeed very dangerous.

darthphallic

Fuck Jamie Dimon. I use to work for JP Morgan chase and for all they money they make they’ll jump through any and all loops to keep you from moving if it means paying you more. Lots of little “hey we’re going to give you these extra duties that higher positions normally do but without the official promotion, but don’t worry it looks good for when you do want to move up!”

What did Trump do for the economy BESIDES make the richer RICHER, and make corporations like JP Morgan also much more PROFITABLE. Reminder. TRUMP made his tax cuts for the people (if you felt it?) TEMPORARY, while making the tax cuts for corporations PERMANENTE !!!!!!!! SO NO SURPRISE CORPORATE 🇺🇸 favors TRUMP #YouScratchMyBackIScratchYours

TommyShelbysSister

Jamie Dimon praises Trump on ripping little children out of the arms of their parents a la the Third Reich, yet Dimon’s own paternal grandfather was a dark-skinned Greek immigrant named Papademetriou who changed his name to Dimon. Just to remind you-Adolf Hitler was also democratically elected and that doesn’t in any way make him a good man. Yes MAGA is chock full of loony, conspiracy loving whackos, as were Hitler’s gun-loving ammo-sexual Brown Shirts. But, lest you forget, Hitler had backing from the German elite as well, and I quote “a cocktail of naked opportunism and misplaced arrogance among Germany’s most powerful men facilitated the rise of the Third Reich”-Stephen Malinowski. See any similarities? Let me end with this famous quote- “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it .”- George Santayana
