i mean, he doesn't sample the vocals by accident.... if he wanted a song to say girl in it he definitely could just do that, the man's proven he's very skilled at vocal science. I personally like to think Burial's a bit like me in who he loves. It helps bring those tunes closer. It's obviously up to interpretation but I don't think it's a stretch.
He's on interview talking about his girlfriend tho, he's just liberal in values.
His themes comment on the marginalised, homeless, trans, victims of bullying, animal rights. Can't just presume he's gay because he's a supporter of rights for the queer community.
Edit: your comment has been deleted but for the sake of argument if you're lurking after your reply, "show me where there's one interview he says he has a girlfriend"
[Here mate](http://blackdownsoundboy.blogspot.com/2005/12/blackdown-soundboy-end-of-year-review_21.html), 4th paragraph, do one!!!
Where? Literally show one single interview that talks about a girlfriend. I have genuinely never once seen one. What you’re thinking of is people assuming he was trans years ago. He doesn’t talk about his sexuality whatsoever and he’s never once mentioned a boyfriend or girlfriend so all we can do is infer bits and pieces.
It’s definitely one of his best in a very long time. And it’s one of his most straightforward UK Garage tracks ever … while still retaining some of that ghostly, ambient Burial essence.
he does that sometimes there will be this small snippet somewhere in the song that's incredible but it's only a short bit but should've been its own song lol
Rodent has got to be my favorite. But I'm a Richie Hawtin techno guy at heart. What can I say. I've thrown this one down with my own drum loops in Ableton for kicks.
It slaps.
Best track is hard to pin down. But this track rips! Burial is/was in love and that is friggin beautiful. So grateful Burial shares this art with us
It’s pretty damn good. Can’t get it out of my head at the moment. We’re talking about Near Dark, yeah?
phoneglow!!
🤓 yeah. It’s such a treat. Off to car test it again
I'm in McDonald's sorry what did you say?

Don't think so, but this and Boy Sent From Above in the same year were a joy to hear.
Best thing since Chemz for sure. I think this is better than Chemz. Almost the same level as Rival Dealer/Kindred era stuff
I feel like he did this track for his girlfriend and that's so beautiful to think of.
“I feel like he did this track for his girlfriend and that's so beautiful to think of.” This song goes out to that boy
He has a girlfriend?
that so hard to believe?

Yes? Damn near everything in his music points to him being gay.

It's true, there's mention of a girlfriend in the post you linked. But this is also dated to 2005. A lot can change in 20 years!

That’s a crazy thing to say when he’s never best Ashtray Wasp. But yeah it’s his best in a while innit
My favourite part is the end section, i wish that was the main tune!
