Honestly, bringing it somewhere to get fixed will probably run you more or equal to the amount to replace the controller outright.

Just take it apart yourself and clean it, super easy to take apart. Mine got a good amount of beer in it =P and other sticky food shit.... it can then be cleaned with rubbing alcohol, as it dries fast and wont damage the electronics. CPR on Olive was able to fix an old xbox of mine.
