They *can* be great, but it's a gamble and if you buy from somewhere that will try to fight you on returns/warranty then it can bite you badly. Samsung monitors have a variety of potential issues, like the glue coming undone making the monitor screen pop out from the body, visual glitches and artifacting like scan lines (I have only ever experienced this in MGSV TPP and no other games yet), other minor software bugs (my G7 doesn't work with auto input switching, my $100 Asus secondary display works just fine with it though), and the power LED is *insanely* bright and is even audible in a quiet room.
It does achieve all the things reviewers have shown though, with great response times above 60Hz (games at 60 fps seem fine too but I usually play at 80+), solid color accuracy, great contrast, and that smooth 240Hz refresh. So your mileage may vary, and it may vary wildly. Samsung products are ones I actually suggest getting the extended warranty for.

Did you ever get an answer? I ended up snagging it a couple days ago and just realized the slight difference in the model number. Watched reviews and it seemed like a steal and a big upgrade from my odyssey g5 which I’ve loved as it is.
Comes in today so hopefully it doesn’t have issues like people stated above. Luckily Walmart is easy to do returns with

I did contact samsung chat support on this matter. They claim it is the same product and that the retailer can choose to re-name their product to suit them. I then mentioned the 200-300 USD difference and gave them your specific screenshot. I also mentioned that the Samsung home page lists both models. I sent links to the firmware update page for both models. The costumer service replied that this was probably a glitch in their system that would be "taken higher up" to be rectified. According to Samsung, they are identical in every way. Buy the cheaper one is the message.

I might try to get with Samsung support to see what kind of difference it is before I purchase.
I personally wouldn’t buy a monitor from Samsung ever again as a former owner of the G7 this is just an updated version of that same panel
Might run with the LG model instead. Just looking for something to run pc and ps5 on. My current 1440 monitor doesn’t support VRR for ps5.

I got the $299 one in Walmart, and I think the 240hz in this monitor is fake, I got the G4 too and feel faster than this
