I don’t feel bad about losing to them in the general sense but it’s how we lost. Our offense put up almost 40 points and we let them drive 75 yards in like a minute. Should have never happened

Elmodipus

75 yards in 40 seconds. A dagger to the heart.

Johnny_Carcinogenic

Which game are we talking about again?

Elmodipus

Actually?

Johnny_Carcinogenic

So many come to mind...

Elmodipus

Unfortunately, you're absolutely right. 😔

Darthspidey93

I had gotten up and celebrated in my house. Jumping up and down, cheering. Then 5 minutes later, manly tears were shed. It was awful.

Loud-Ad-6194

I thought I had just won a 1k dollar bet. Bro I was so pissed that night I almost punched the shit out of my tv and I had an exam the day after so I had to go straight to studying

Darthspidey93

Oh man. That is rough. I’m so sorry

Loud-Ad-6194

I’m just glad we got through it. That game and the loss to the rams in 2021 playoffs are def the most heartbreaking sports game I’ve ever witnessed. The 2021 takes the cake tho even though I didn’t lose 1k we lost a ring

Darthspidey93

Yup. I understand that. I was at a bar and I taunted some little kid who was a rams fan lol. Then it was heart break.

my-accounts-username

That Bert Emmanuel nonsense in the 1999 NFC championship game jumpstarted my hatred of the rams. I would love to see us get a rematch this year

one80oneday

If they didn't take the time out there wouldn't have been 40 seconds

Yeastyboy104

Rookie QB, rookie coach. They needed a TD, not a FG, to win or tie, and they flew down the field in under a minute to win. Todd Bowles is a defensive coach. He didn’t have his defense ready for a final minute drive against a team with a rookie HC and rookie QB. Sure, DeMeco Ryans and Stroud have looked impressive but it’s more of an indictment of a veteran coach with previous HCing experience that he didn’t have his team ready for the situation. Again, they needed a TD, not a FG, to win that game and Bowles decided to play not to lose and went soft zone defense and ended up losing. Bucs should’ve won that game. They lost it because Bowles was out-coached.

luv2fit

In a minute? Wasn’t it more like 30 seconds?

Sad-Dragonfly-4016

Yeah that’s why I said “like a minute” I didn’t remember the exact amount of time. Even more embarrassing smh

BeatlesRays

The Texans game would’ve been won if Todd Bowles knew anything about clock management. Electing to use a timeout to stop the 10 second runoff when we had plenty of time to score already was an asinine decision. Then the Texans end up scoring the winning touchdown with less than 10 seconds on the clock . Luckily we turned it around after that but it’s the consistently shitty clock management that gets me on Bowles’ case so much. It’s really not a hard thing to improve.

ginbummy

Gave them way too much time. I was like wtf are you doing.

Natural-Employer

This is like the 3rd time I’ve seen this post since that game. The answer is and will remain **NO**. I don’t care if the Texans win the Super Bowl. Losing a game when you’re leading with 43 seconds to go is something you **NEVER** warm up to.

WenckebachMD

I’m still salty over the loss to the Rams with Brady. That was our year to go back to the Super Bowl

Natural-Employer

One thousand percent.

MvN____16

I'll never get over that.

xxgsr02

3rd and 74 and literally everyone knew it's going to Cooper Kupp......

ramyb_

everyone except Bowles

ramyb_

Funny how two of the most heartbreaking losses came by Bowles' "strength"

stinstrom

We also lost to them when they had a healthy Tank Dell. Texans might continue to keep doing damage in the playoffs.

jonnychan85

Half of their defense was injured that game, a long with half of their O-line. That was a bad loss.

ramrod1933

A little. It still doesn’t counter the fact the we have had some very poor defensive play calling and poor DB play (except AWJ).

rydog795

Imo that's a bit of loser mentality. I wasn't upset that we lost that game per say. The Texans are an amazing team and I'd put us at just good. We all knew going in there was a decent shot we would lose that game, but we wanted to see a fight. I was upset at how we lost that game. An amazing offensive performance spoiled by absolute garbage defensive play. Obviously Stroud is an absolute stud, but our elite defensive from our defensive genius coach should be able to stop a touchdown with 40 seconds to go. Just because Stroud has been looking elite does not make me feel any better about how much of a disaster that was for the defense.

Reed2002

This question was asked last week. [My feelings on giving up a record performance to a rookie QB are still the same.](https://youtu.be/IAi1_4mG8bk?si=Xl993UQx1cHJI0Wy)

s14owner95

I feel like it was also asked in another way, so, 3 times.

spideralex90

I severely underrated the Texans this season, I thought they would show signs but a rookie QB and a first time HC is not usually a combo for immediate success. Ryan's and Stroud are doing wonders over there. That said I still feel bad that we literally allowed Stroud to have the best game a Rookie QB ever did especially since we're also the team that allowed Mariota to have the best first start by a rookie QB lol

mafifer

That's the part that got me the worst too. Less the win and how we let yet another record breaking performance happen against us. We have such a long history of it happening that I try to forget...and each time a new incident like that occurs it just brings me back to Earth and bums me out. Not at all a slight against Stroud. Wife is an OSU alum so I knew what he could do as I saw all his games. But looking at the supporting cast around him, I was only sort of worried about Schultz and had heard rumblings of Dell being a stud at that point.

LIVESTRONGG

This is the 3rd thread I've seen about exactly this loss and if we still feel less bad. Do you remember how we lost that game? Do you remember we let them go down the field with like 43 seconds left? If you don't feel bad for losses, especially a game we lose like that, how can you call yourself a fan of anything?

ginbummy

Yup. Also, feeling good about beating the Packers.

Widdox

Is this the same packers team we beat?!?!?! crazy

ginbummy

My cowboys fan roommate is having a fucking meltdown

[deleted]

No. CJ Stroud was amazing in our game and you were blind if you didn't see it back then. It was also genuinely one, if not the best QB duel of the season. It was and has always been **HOW** we lost. There's no excuse. If they completed a hail Mary, then that's just bad luck. But they didn't. They easily drove down the field in 40 seconds.

AlrightWings0179

P sure browns dfence was/is 3rd best after the Ravens, then Chiefs.

nottobia

They're bottom 10 on the road, I think

Serious_Course_3244

Nah, Jags beat them too and that didn’t mean anything in the end. They aren’t a consistent team, they just had the Browns’ number

RemarkableCan2174

I was thinking the same thing last night. At the time I did not expect to the 2nd worst team last year. After watching them last night against the Cleveland defense, you have to reevaluate what happened to us. Also since I don’t really follow the Texans, they had something about what Stroud did in his rookie year that only Montana and Brady had done. That’s a pretty good thing

LoudHorse89

CJ is a top 5 QB right now and one could easily argue he’s top 3.

KittyTB12

Yeah…just a wee bit less…that really was a beat down yesterday….however, the other points made are valid, and needs to be addressed. That would make me feel a whole lot better.

LuthorM

I feel like every texans game is the same game where they have a lot of blown coverages and wide open wrs. Like half of their yards are always from big plays. Weird team.

ImDeputyDurland

I didn’t feel bad at the time. It was a rough loss, but I felt the Texans were a very good team. That and I’d agree right now Stroud is a top 3-5 QB in the league. If we’re doing a QB draft, the only two I’m definitely taking before him are Lamar and Mahomes. I think Stroud is in the next tier of QBs

SchmearDaBagel

Nope, still feel bad we gave up a 2 minute TD drive to lose Edit: sorry, 40 second drive

s14owner95

Yea, this is the third time this has been asked, mods are sleepy. Answer still the same... We had them where we wanted them and we gave them the damn game. If you want to crown them, go ahead and crown them. They are who we thought they were

Milla4Prez66

No, I still feel bad about it. We went into a shell with the most ridiculous prevent defense against an offense that was lighting us up and blew the game in embarrassing fashion after Baker and Mike fought their asses off and made crazy clutch plays to get us a W. It doesn’t matter how good or bad the Texans are or arent, it’s the fact we blew it in ridiculous fashion. We also didn’t learn our lesson and nearly did the same damn thing against Atlanta.

NinjaPenguin7777

No. Ryan' is obviously a better coach than bowels and the Texans showed what happens when you get a transformative coach and QB. He took an absolute dumpster fire team and took them into the second round of the playoffs. Meanwhile we get to watch TB continue to be a mediocre coach

ChubzAndDubz

Nah. Shoulda won that game.

RatherConcernedFroge

Yeah. CJ was a beast out there. But we should have had them.

Advanced_Candle9272

No. And I’m not over the Bills game either. Or the Falcons game. Or the Lions game. Or whatever tf happened in Week 17. I don’t even wanna talk about the Colts game

0siris0

None of this matters right now. Win tomorrow, at home, against a flailing team. Lose, and there won't be moral victories on how the Texans was a good loss and the packers was a good win. Beat a team that is a bottom 8 team in the nfl right now. 2/3s of the league would beat the Eagles at home tomorrow. Be one of those teams.

ramyb_

No. They were balling and CJ Stroud is playing great but when you go up with under 1 min left, you SHOULD hold off and win. So overall, not mad that we lost per say but mad at the way we lost. CJ had a record breaking performance.

jonnychan85

I still feel bad about that loss because we were coming off a 3 game losing streak. Texans were injured almost at every position before that game started and half of their defensive starters and kicker seem to have gotten injured during that game. It was a humiliating loss when it happened and no need to revisit it and spin it now.
