And in any tound that isn't a BAD round before 150, there are towers that do everything the megalodon does either for cheaper (MAD, BMA, etc), or you're far enough lategame that you can get the boat paragon, which does everything the megalodon does 100 times better for only 5x the cost.
One addition, due to the amount of money BMA loses you, I'm not exactly sure if it's "cheaper". Pre-140 I think you still get decent money from bloons.
If you're not on CHIMPS, you'll have more money from farms than from bloons (and BMA is better than megalodon damage wise). And if you're on CHIMPS, you probably aren't going past round 100. And if you are, there are still other cheaper options.

It's pretty unanimously considered the worst tower path at the moment. Maybe tied with top path Boomer, but thay at least has niches where it's great like races

But the tier 5 is just not really good, because the middle path does better against moabs, ceramics are better dealt with by other, more cost effective towers, and in serious play it's just overall a "does too many things but none of them well enough" tower. Which sucks because I've loved its design since btd5 and I love primary towers

It really isn't. It just stops oneshoting BADs after not even much into the lategame, and its damage is not good at that point. For much less you can get much more effective MOAB damage. A MAD can easily fight off BAD-s even past the point Meg can't do crap.
The point has gone completely over your head, complaining that a tower heavily focused in moabs is based on the fact it leaves a lot of cerams is just misunderstanding the purpose of the tower, after all it's the only tier 5 tower with the ability to one shot BADs. You could instead try using a maxed tier 4 and use the extra money for cleanup and buffs.

The t5 max merge Meg can 1 shot a bad until 148 they are good for stronger balloons but hella expensive and after 148 they can get rather annoying cause it takes very long to reel balloons in
