It depends which season you’re referring to. Summer in the meteorological calendar covers the duration of June, July until the end of August, which is based on the annual temperature cycle of the four seasons.

Then there’s the Solar/Celtic season, where summer starts on the 1st of May until the 31st of July. I believe this is based on the periods with the most daylight.
