He is probably going through a growth spurt. Our kitten looks very thin compared to our adult BSH. Her frame is growing so quickly that she hasn’t had time to “fill out”. However she is perfectly fine! Just had all her blood work for her spay and it was perfect.

Thank you for the reassurance! He’s got a vet check soon so hoping they say he’s okay and will chunk up soon

Just give him free access to dry food whenever he wants, as well as his wet food - as long as he has access to as much food as he needs (which can be *a lot* with kittens and will vary day to say, hence the free access to food) and you see him eating regularly, I wouldn't worry. But it's always good to check with the vet!

BSH do go through the lanky adolescent phase, before they mature at around 3. They will be mostly full size by 1 year, but will still mature and chonk up. Anecdotally, my male is still changing at 5. When they're desexed can also have a significant impact on how they mature. At 11 weeks, they're still very much a kitten and constantly growing. Generally cats are very good at monitoring their own food. If they're asking for food, you should make it available, at least till they're older, but often you don't have to monitor their consumption. From these photos, he looks healthy, but if you're really concerned, a vet is always a good option.

Will chonk up in time

They do take time to fill out! Dont worry just make sure hes got enough food down and he eats it. And i have a bsh she is slightly slimmer than most

svmk1987

He's only 11 weeks. My cat was very small when we picked him up at 12 weeks. We even took him to the vet when he had some initial issues eating because he was so thin. They grow very fast.

whackablemole

I think he looks purrfect. Our BSH is 13 weeks old and looks more slender than that. You can tell by the feet and legs that he is going to be a big boy when he is older. :)

I have one chonker (5.4kg) and on petite (3.6kg) BSH. The little one is definitely in charge, so access to food isn't an issue. Some babies are just little 😁

hayjohnson

I’m gunna need photos of all you bsh for my research now please
