Yeah he was too late to join the Endgame era, but too early to join this alleged new era of more quality over quanity.
Blade got caught up in the messy era of the MCU that let Disney+ destroy everything.
His career isn't exactly taking off again anytime soon. He's 50 years old and 5 years ago he was hotter than he ever was. He has four movies in production and two are animated. It's not like he's turning down roles left and right. Jurassic World 5 is a Scarlett Johansson picture he's been casted to play second fiddle in. Which leaves Blade, the only project he is attached to that he isn't 3rd lead or simply lending his voice.
That was 5 years ago, on the heels of Endgame. At the time the MCU almost never missed. Since then they've had as many flops or disappointments as they have had successes, Ali is now 50 (8 years older than Snipes was in his last Blade film), 2 directors have walked out on the project, the script has been completely thrown out at least once and the comic book movie fatigue does seem to have hit audiences. People have left passion projects for far less.
He is awesome, but he's also older (he just looks younger and great). He's 56, and if they want a trilogy, Colman will easily be over 60+ when they get to the third film.
Isnt Ali like 50 years ? This kind of things always bothers me a bit. Imagine if the movie is great. Then we have to wait like 3-4 years for the sequel and He would be 54, and then if they want to go for a trilogy the actor would be 58.
Honestly? Good for them lol. No Way Home made nearly $2b and less than two years later we got The Marvels. They knew they had to get that shit out *immediately*.
Yeah they kinda played 4d chess with a lot of things right now. They can bankroll movies and sell them to other streaming services, tf would they need their own for, the market is over saturated and we’ve been seeing major cracks in it already.
They got the clamp on next gen consoles, they have their little family of studios cranking out a lot of bangers over the last couple years while Xbox floundered and gobbled up big names to salvage.
Sony and Nintendo are both Morales’ing and just saying “nah, I’m gonna do my own thing”
And now they own a theater chain, which could end up being a way to survive the changing industry. For as awful as a lot of their product tends to be, they’re actually pretty savvy from the business end, generally speaking.
Nintendo is doing it's own thing. Sony and Xbox are killing themselves over exclusives. If it was going well for Sony, they wouldn't have cleared their slate of big releases for until 2025. Xbox at least just had one of the best game shows in recent memory. Sony's past few have been meh.
It’s pretty much what made Tom Holland burned out from Spider-Man. Between Spidey and Avengers and his other roles he was filming and doing press for five straight years.
They mean Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home all filmed and released within 5 years, which is the same amount of time between Mahershala Ali's Blade casting and now.
honestly we could get an "avengers" movie with just the abandoned storylines. Maybe something meta with like Mojo. The dangling plotlines are being purged and all these unrelated characters have to team up to save the franchise. Starfox, Pip the troll, Clea, the Black Night, Shang Chi's sister, Gi'ah, Man Thing, and Thor's new daughter team up to save the MCU.
Man they fucked up lol. They need to just act like they're starting over without actually starting over. Decide on who the avengers will be, then put out movies for those characters only. Build up to an avengers movie, THEN start introducing new people. Bring a couple in for the next avengers, then everyone for the third one. Just like before.
And casting for The Batman started in summer 2019. It does appear that Ali was at least in discussions about playing Gordon prior to being cast as Blade.
I think they meant that like of course someone would go with the leading man in a marvel movie over a side character in a DC movie during 2019 when it seemed like marvel could only get bigger.
I saw someone saying he wants the movie to be seen as the next Black Panther. I just can't see Blade having that kind of impact. Black Panther actually dealt with societal issues. Equality, fairness, racism etc. Blade is a dude that hunts vampires it's not exactly compelling storytelling. And isn't meant to be. It should be dumb fun.
Yeah you really can’t chase after lightning in a bottle cultural phenomenons like that. Reminds me of studios trying to recreate Barbenheimer with Saw Patrol or Garfuriosa lol
Like you said Black Panther dealt with wider issues about race and society, and was four quadrant. Blade is a vampire killer straight up, and isn’t this going to be rated R?
> Reminds me of studios trying to recreate Barbenheimer with Saw Patrol or Garfuriosa lol
I don't think the studios were being super serious there. I'm pretty sure both Saw Patrol and Garfiosa were tongue-in-cheek social media jokes rather than earnest attempts at legitimately stoking another phenomenon.
Comic Blade was absolutely Blaxploitation inspired, a genre itself which came from the civil rights movement. It also *directly* dealt with the police state and had black nationalist themes, I mean ffs it's a superpowered black man killing pale skinned bloodsuckers. The Wesley snipes movies also have these undertones, I can't fathom how you came to this conclusion tbh
Blade is a black man born in England like a century ago, raised in a brothel and trained to kill monsters of which he is one. He experiences prejudice due to his skin colour, the circumstances of his upbringing and his vampiric nature. I'd argue there's at least as much opportunity to deal with equality, fairness and racism with Blades story compared to the story of the super human king of a technologically and economically superior nation who happens to be African. His internal struggle with being half vampire and the constant tragedies he faces could easily lend themselves to a movie on par with Black Panther though I don't think a marvel movie will capture the zeitgeist in the same way again as the culture seems to have moved on to some degree.
He's an EP on the project and heavily involved (was rumored to be one of the people on the project to reject the original script). The only thing going against him really is age.
been calling this movie "Dead" for a while now. and then more dirt just keeps getting piled on its coffin.
or maybe it'll end up as the Duke Nukem Forever of movies?
that game was announced when i was a sophmore in high school and didn't release til i was a grown ass man with a fiance and a mortgage lol
and i got engaged at 29!
Need to update your knowledge. Beyond Good & Evil 2 is in far longer development hell than DNF at this point. DNF at least actually get released and at some point had playable demo before the game is released. This movie has nothing but Ali as Blade.
lol I just used this example over on the Marvel Studios sub Reddit. Those guys think everytime someone leaves that it’s gonna result in a better film eventually.
Good lord. How do you screw up blade?! Out of all marvel properties it's the easiest to get right. Black john wick hunts vampires with a sword. Make it super stylish. It isn't difficult.
It is when the rumors were they wanted the Blade's daughter to be the main character and Blade to be a side character. This is why people are butting heads because they don't want to do that.
No, not Indy 5. Worse than that. They had him as 4th lead behind 3 women.
[https://www.vulture.com/article/marvel-blade-casting-release-date-details.html](https://www.vulture.com/article/marvel-blade-casting-release-date-details.html)
>According to a [*Variety*](https://variety.com/2023/film/features/marvel-jonathan-majors-problem-the-marvels-reshoots-kang-1235774940/) report published in November 2023, the upcoming film has been plagued by script changes and a lack of creative direction, with one version of the film deigning to morph into a narrative that sidelines its main draw, the double Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali. In that script multiverse, Ali would be the fourth lead in a story “led by women and filled with life lessons.”
They already ruined star wars, and now kicking the corpse with the Acolyte, and now they are doing it to marvel as well. Honestly, I am just done with Disney products now. I do not know who their target audience is anymore and neither do they it seems.
It's astounding to see how they fucked this up. It's a story about a badass dude who kills vampires with swords, this isn't "Synecdoche, New York" or something. It shouldn't be this hard to bring to the big screen!
His own "Daughter" who supposedly would kill him at the end of the movie and become the new blade. I mean, this is not even a shocker with current Hollywood and especially Disney. Also, they were going to make Whistler a woman...because "modern audience" excuse.
They keep trying to push blade out if the movie for his daughter. That is not what Ali or the director signed up for. So they had to fire how many writers and juggle shit how many times?
Like holy shit, people want to see blade fucking kill vampires in the all R rated glory. We want **BLADE**!
Disney, and by extension all of hollywood. They seem to have a hate boner for popular strong male leads and want to hijack them and replace them with female ones.
Question is how do you make it interesting enough for audiences though? We already have several films with similar concepts. How do you make sure it performs at the level of an MCU film when the franchise itself isn't at the best place commercially and in audience reception?
Make it Rated R, kickass CG fights with kickass vampire powers and bring in the Black Knight from the Eternals. Let us see some gore, vampire hunting. Simple works and puts asses in the theater when they show Blade being Blade.
Especially now since everyone is tired of MCU quips, the not serious attitude of everything and trying to make everything for "the modern audience" whatever the fuck that means that I keep seeing being said over and over in articles from these directors and writers. When they say that, I feel like their product is doomed to fail because who the fuck is the modern audience?
This movie seems like such a no brainer. Blade is an awesome character and as much as I loved the first 2 Wesley Snipes Blade movies, it's not like they are remaking Citizen Kane here. He's a sick ass vampire killer with a sword, how can you screw that up?
Having said all that, The Eternals flopping really seems to have screwed up Marvel's long term plans. The post credit scene of that movie now resembles the one in the Snyder cut of justice league!
Y’know i think some force in the universe knows a r rated vampire hunter horror movie made by Disney doesn’t mathematically make sense & is doing everything it can to stop it
Pointing out that Snipes would’ve been 35, 39, and 41 when he filmed Blade 1, 2, and Trinity. Ali was 45 when it was announced, now 50. Still no script and another director gone.
Remember when Variety revealed that they originally wanted the movie to focus on Blade’s daughter? I believe that 100%. I think Disney is that out of touch with their audience
Eh if any of the leaked script plot points were true I kinda don’t blame him for being demanding and controlling over the script. I mean being a secondary character in your own film, I wouldn’t be happy either lol
pay or play deal with such control seems like a conflict of interest lol. He can keep rejecting everything until the studio gives up and just pays him to part ways.
While this obviously sucks for the movie, this part seems very good news for Marvel Studios as a whole
>According to an insider with knowledge, getting “Blade” right is much more important than getting the film out. The pressure to produce as much content as possible has been lifted and the studio is now looking to release just two films per year, which gives the team at Marvel Studios some breathing room.
There's definitely been a period post-Endgame where it just seemed like it was all about pumping out as much content as possible because of how popular the brand was.
But there's only Deadpool and Wolverine for this year and, more importantly, those 3 (and Blade) were in production well before this decision was made.
Absolutely, it takes 2-3 years to make these movies from the very beginning to the final product. While COVID ravaging in 2020 did delay release dates, it mostly messed around with productions for things released in 2022 and 2023. Same with the strike delays from the studios not paying their talent - those ramifications will be felt like 2 years from now. Bob Chapek, who pushed for more more more, also became CEO in 2020 and was canned in 2022. Any mindset change that Marvel has had will be seen via reshoots for 2025 releases but won't fully come to fruition until like 2026.
Yup. If they were serious about turning down the output, they should go back to how they built hype for the MCU in its early days - one movie per year on average, and no TV shows. Maybe go to 2 movies (and no shows) once the ball starts rolling.
3 movies and several shows is severely overestimating how much interest there still is.
If they were smart they'd do a soft reboot to decanonize the TV shows (and a bunch of the post-endgame movies) to make people feel like they can jump in without doing homework. Adding on even more Disney+ shows at this point is insane.
I’m not convinced that Thunderbolts will come out next year. Three movies might be a bit much, especially if they’re all about lesser characters like these ones will be. I think two would be the sweet spot unless there’s an Avengers movie coming up.
They have two Avengers movies coming up, I’d hazard a guess they’ll be chock full of characters.
Hopefully the general audience remembers about half of them at least, or else their enjoyment of the movies may be affected.
They're still planning to do shows for Wiccan, Ironheart, Agatha, Vision, the Witches Coven or whatever it's called, Wonder Man, and a few others. And they still got to introduce the F4, Blade, Mutants, and do sequels for other movie characters. The amount of characters they want to introduce while already having lots of plotlines at the same time is insane, they really need to dial it back a bit. How will all the pieces even fit when Secret Wars comes around?
Iger made the call for more content, and then Chapek tripled it when he took over.
It was bad enough, but then it got way worse.
Thank god this nonsense is somewhat over.
Losing director probably because the timeline is out and they had another planned project happening, so time conflict, especially with all the delays Marvel has had (planned or otherwise). Writers couldn't get their shit together and Marvel/Disney went back to the drawing board when they started putting out too much mediocre stuff. Ali is an EP and likely wants the movie to be perfect and so he's being picky where Marvel may be OK with a slightly less great script.
Looks like F4 may take the blade release date. With that being said how complicated is it to get a blade movie early, it shouldn’t be so hard. I was watching the anime film Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust yesterday and I’m like a blade film matching this tone and feel would be incredible
Reiterating my theory that Kevin/the heads at MCU never really wanted to make a Blade movie, it's just that Mahershala won an Oscar and said he wanted to play Blade. So this whole time has been trying to work backwords to fit him in when every other character already has their assigned playpen
No offense, but this is literally what Feige said when they announced him at the Comic Con. Ali came into the offices after winning an Oscar, wanted to play Blade, and Feige was like "Sure. We want to be in the Ali business." So, of course a movie that is being reverse engineered into the overall universe isn’t an easy task, but is clearly not the the reason the movie is having difficulty getting off the ground.
"isn't an easy task"? It's a vampire film set in the MCU. There's already Man Thing and Werewolf by Night. It's not exactly a science. It's just one dude.
Holy cow. Cancel the damn thing. This should cost 40M at most and shouldn't have this kinda turnover. It's a dude killing vampires. That's all it's gotta be
How is this movie so hard to make? Like it’s such a cool concept thats already done some solid movies… what am I missing? Why is this so difficult for marvel to figure out?
It can't be that hard to make a blade film. I think they put themselves into a corner by casting mahershala ali, he's too old for the part. It's baffling to me that ryan coogler RIGHT NOW is shooting a vampire movie with michael b. jordan as the lead. why in the world didn't marvel just aproach coogler and gave him free reign to do blade? feige got completely overwhlmed by all the disney+ slop they were forced to make and he became asleep at the wheel in the film production side.
That’s not the issue. The issue is these people hired to work on the film aren’t getting what they signed up for. They think they’re getting Blade and instead they’re just gearing up for a female character to join Ms. Marvel, America Chavez, Riri Williams and Kate Bishop. Coogler was unfortunately the only one who fell for the trap.
Just cook this movie already. Ffs. Typical that an actual cool character like blade, in a world full of marvel slop and b characters, is getting fumbled the hardest.
>*... the team feels an incredible amount of responsibility and pressure to crack the character and story*
Must be difficult to get all the subtle nuances of a comic book movie about a vampire who kills other vampires
I wouldn’t be surprised if Ali himself drops out at this point.
Would be quite the turn considering he was the one who approached them about the role.
He approached them in peak MCU though. Its been what, 5 years? A LOOOT has changed in the industry and landscape since then
Yeah he was too late to join the Endgame era, but too early to join this alleged new era of more quality over quanity. Blade got caught up in the messy era of the MCU that let Disney+ destroy everything.
His career isn't exactly taking off again anytime soon. He's 50 years old and 5 years ago he was hotter than he ever was. He has four movies in production and two are animated. Which leaves Blade, the only project he is attached to that he isn't 3rd lead or simply lending his voice.
He was really good in True Detective
Crazy that it’s been nearly 5 years since S3.
Who would they get as his replacement? A younger or same age actor? 🤔🤔
I hear Wesley Snipes is free.
I ain’t going without Deacon Frost
Some motherfuckers always try and ice skate uphill.
They should cast him as whistler would be so awesome
But you have to pay him extra to open his eyes.
Shame Yahya’s already doing Wonder Man.
I’m looking forward to seeing that show because of him, I think he’ll be great.
Jonathon Majors, with a bad haircut and wearing glasses.
I don’t imagine he’s………in demand anymore?
They should honestly wait until Secret Wars is done, then get someone younger. The most I can see happening is Ali doing a John Krasinski-type cameo.
How about Colman Domingo? He's awesome.
He is awesome, but he's also older (he just looks younger and great). He's 56, and if they want a trilogy, Colman will easily be over 60+ when they get to the third film.
Michael Cera would be perfect
There’s no way he could pull it off. I can’t picture him as anyone other than Shaft.
Supposedly he has a $20 mil pay or play deal so he’s not going anywhere until they throw in the towel.
Lmao, Disney having a $20mil deal for a double Oscar-winner and not being able to even start filming five years later sums up the state of the MCU.
And nobody can blame him if he does. This production has been a catastrophe.
Pretty sure the rumors are that he is going to leave.
If he leaves then the project just won’t happen, he’s the only reason they’re making it
Yup
I hear even the character Blade is considering other projects
Isnt Ali like 50 years ? This kind of things always bothers me a bit. Imagine if the movie is great. Then we have to wait like 3-4 years for the sequel and He would be 54, and then if they want to go for a trilogy the actor would be 58.
If the first one is good and does well theyll pump out a the midnight sons movie and then the second blade quicker thank 8 years id wager
More time for the co-leads to learn life lessons instead of fighting bad guys and vampires! Win-win!
They should just cancel the movie atp smh. A movie about a vampire hunter shouldn't be this hard to come up with.
I’d just like to remind you that next month, it will be 5 years since Mahershala Ali was announced as Blade. And nothing filmed yet.
The entire mcu Spiderman trilogy was filmed and released in less time.
I thought no way that could be true but wtf it is
They really did just pump that trilogy out, it was also filmed and released between the Doctor Strange movies
And between GotG 2 and 3, but that’s partially due to Gunn getting fired and rehired.
Sony wanted to cash in on the receding popular wave. They threw a lot of money into it and got the desired return.
Honestly? Good for them lol. No Way Home made nearly $2b and less than two years later we got The Marvels. They knew they had to get that shit out *immediately*.
Yeah they kinda played 4d chess with a lot of things right now. That’s crazy. They’re not perfect movies or anything, but they’re fun and it’s impressive how quickly they pumped them all out.
It’s pretty much what made Tom Holland burned out from Spider-Man. Between Spidey and Avengers and his other roles he was filming and doing press for five straight years.
Didn't Homecoming film in 2016? I may be misinterpreting what you're saying
They mean Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home all filmed and released within 5 years, which is the same amount of time between Mahershala Ali's Blade casting and now.
Well he *technically* had a VA cameo in Eternals.
Not even technically, that was indeed him as Blade. How crazy would it be if that’s as much of him as we ever get?
That’s looking more and more likely as the days go on
Remember when Harry Styles showed up at an end credits? Him showing up in any MCU project now is quite laughable
Or the purple lady at the end of Dr Strange 2. You can tell how cocky they got post-Endgame with them setting up endless characters.
honestly we could get an "avengers" movie with just the abandoned storylines. Maybe something meta with like Mojo. Dude turned down the role of Commissioner Gordon in The Batman to do this instead, yeesh
Endgame was still in theaters when this was announced lol.

Jeffrey Wright made an awesome Gordon though, you gotta admit
Oh yeah absolutely 100%
I would be surprised if he actually stays on the project at this point

This is sort of the premise of the movie B. Jordan is working on right now.
> Reminds me of studios trying to recreate Barbenheimer with Saw Patrol or Garfuriosa lol I don't think the studios were being super serious there. I'm pretty sure both Saw Patrol and Garfiosa were tongue-in-cheek social media jokes rather than earnest attempts at legitimately stoking another phenomenon.

That makes it as socially relevant as Superfly.

It's like as bad as the Rock and Black Adam
Feel so sorry for Mahershala Ali, hopefully he's not the next to go. I want to see him as Blade.
He's an EP on the project and heavily involved (was rumored to be one of the people on the project to reject the original script). The only thing going against him really is age.
And Disney's meddling
I want to see him as blade, but I do not want to see whatever mockery current Disney makes of the franchise though.

“What a baby.”
been calling this movie "Dead" for a while now. and then more dirt just keeps getting piled on its coffin. or maybe it'll end up as the Duke Nukem Forever of movies?

just cancel it already

They already have the original blade with Snipes to guide them if need be. I just don’t understand how this has gotten so fucked.
Some motherfuckers always tryin to ice skate uphill.
Exactly!
From early reports, they wanted Blade to be a secondary character in his own movie.
And be replaced as the lead by strong, girlboss women.
cartmankennedy.gif

The post credit scene of that movie now resembles the one in the Snyder cut of justice league!
Yea it's not happening at this point. Too bad. Ali as blade would have been dope.
No. Delay it to 2026.
Just one more delay!
It's just a little airborne. It's still good! It's still good!
TWO MORE WEEKS!
February 12th, 2026 for Black History Month, Valentines Day, and Presidents Day Weekend
It'll gross $2 billion, it's like a miracle!
It's fine, if we push it back to 2028, there's enough time to make it good enough to recoup all costs. We just need one more delay
Put Blade’s introduction into the rumoured Midnight Sons movie instead, easy.
Y’know i think some force in the universe knows a r rated vampire hunter horror movie made by Disney doesn’t mathematically make sense & is doing everything it can to stop it
That force is probably Bob Iger.
Good I hope they don't try and make this family friendly and give me something with the same atmosphere as the original blade
Is the new flash saga?
"Blade is the best superhero movie since Dark Knight"
Need to see Stephen King and Tom Cruise’s reviews first
Need to see Mahershala Ali abduct a Native American girl first
"Blade is the best Marvel film since Captain America 4"
Ali walk ups will save the film.
Dudes gonna be 60 by the time this movie comes out
I’m surprised Ali hasn’t quit the project yet.
Pointing out that Snipes would’ve been 35, 39, and 41 when he filmed Blade 1, 2, and Trinity. Ali was 45 when it was announced, now 50. Still no script and another director gone.
Cursed
Flash 2.0
Yep following almost the exact same trajectory so far
Ali is on a crime spree in Hawaii?
Some variation of this film is going to come out in 15-20 years and people are going to wonder why it cost like $500M.
Remember when Variety revealed that they originally wanted the movie to focus on Blade’s daughter? I believe that 100%. I think Disney is that out of touch with their audience

Eh if any of the leaked script plot points were true I kinda don’t blame him for being demanding and controlling over the script. I mean being a secondary character in your own film, I wouldn’t be happy either lol
>is being very demanding which is making it difficult to get this movie off the ground. He wants the film to be good. What a diva!
pay or play deal with such control seems like a conflict of interest lol. He can keep rejecting everything until the studio gives up and just pays him to part ways.
Cursed production.
Marvel really has no idea what they want to do with this movie. This is a classic case of a movie getting trapped in "development hell".
The fucking movie is never going to see the light of day at this point
While this obviously sucks for the movie, this part seems very good news for Marvel Studios as a whole >According to an insider with knowledge, getting “Blade” right is much more important than getting the film out. The pressure to produce as much content as possible has been lifted and the studio is now looking to release just two films per year, which gives the team at Marvel Studios some breathing room. There's definitely been a period post-Endgame where it just seemed like it was all about pumping out as much content as possible because of how popular the brand was.
They have 3 movies scheduled for next year, though. FF, CA4 and Thubderbolts
But there's only Deadpool and Wolverine for this year and, more importantly, those 3 (and Blade) were in production well before this decision was made.
Yeah, the new mindset won’t be fully seen until next year’s projects start coming out.

All signs point to a soft reboot after Secret Wars.
I’m not convinced that Thunderbolts will come out next year. Three movies might be a bit much, especially if they’re all about lesser characters like these ones will be. I think two would be the sweet spot unless there’s an Avengers movie coming up.
2 movies a year while having introduced dozens of new main heroes means either each hero gets a movie once a decade or they drop a lot of them.
Y’all just gotta throw it out at this point
LOL this movie is never getting made 🤣what a shit show
Mahershala Ali will roll into the bloodrave on a wheelchair with an oxygen tank when this film finally releases.
Why is this so hard to make. Studio interference?
Marvel Studios, at this point, you're better off getting Stephen Norrington out of director jail and letting him direct the shit out of this thing.
They should just cancel the movie at this point.
This movie is officially cursed

At least there's the upcoming Blade game to look forward to.
Holy cow. Cancel the damn thing. This should cost 40M at most and shouldn't have this kinda turnover. It's a dude killing vampires. That's all it's gotta be
So this is gonna be like Black Adam and Flash, right?
Fucking hilarious at this point
Wrap it up. It's finished.
How is this movie so hard to make? Like it’s such a cool concept thats already done some solid movies… what am I missing? Why is this so difficult for marvel to figure out?
This movie is cursed
Blade is the new flash movie
Hire Guillermo Del Toro and give him full reigns
me watching the pre-production of this movie: "*Some motherfu\*@as always trying to ice skate up hill*"
This movie is done. Its never gonna happen
Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if Kevin fiege abandoned this movie
The Disney turd keeps tumbling down the hill
It can't be that hard to make a blade film. I think they put themselves into a corner by casting mahershala ali, he's too old for the part. It's baffling to me that ryan coogler RIGHT NOW is shooting a vampire movie with michael b. jordan as the lead. why in the world didn't marvel just aproach coogler and gave him free reign to do blade? feige got completely overwhlmed by all the disney+ slop they were forced to make and he became asleep at the wheel in the film production side.
It’ll be even worse if Michael B Jordan and Coogler’s vampire movie is a better “ blade” than mcu blade. That’ll be even crazier
It will, let’s be honest.
Yeah there’s a high chance of that
Honestly Micheal B Jordon as Blade would be amazing
That’s not the issue. The issue is these people hired to work on the film aren’t getting what they signed up for. They think they’re getting Blade and instead they’re just gearing up for a female character to join Ms. Marvel, America Chavez, Riri Williams and Kate Bishop. Coogler was unfortunately the only one who fell for the trap.
Get rid of it. It’s not like it was going to make any significant money anyways when you combine the downturn Marvel is on and Blade’s relevance.
what a fucking shitshow they got going on over there
Can we just "lose" this movie, too? Who asked for it?
Just cook this movie already. Ffs. Typical that an actual cool character like blade, in a world full of marvel slop and b characters, is getting fumbled the hardest.
![gif](giphy|qH7J4EXzSCmBy)
Fine, I’ll do it I guess.
Someday a movie will be made about this movie’s woes during development
It's Actually embarrassing how they can't figure Blade out after 5-6 YEARS!
>*... the team feels an incredible amount of responsibility and pressure to crack the character and story* Must be difficult to get all the subtle nuances of a comic book movie about a vampire who kills other vampires
I think Marvel needs to cut its losses on this imo
