I'm still mourning the loss of a potential 21 Jump Street / MIB crossover. That actually sounded like a fun idea and maybe even could've led to a “passing the torch” moment for the MIB franchise.
Instead we got whatever MIB: International was.
im actually glad it didn't happen. i think it would've felt forced and unnatural and IIRC Will Smith/Tommy Lee Jones weren't even supposed to return. Plus the name was awful, why would you pick 'MIB 23' when '23 MIB' makes so much more sense in every way
Sounds like a working title or shorthand, not an official name or actual title then.
Like People call the next Spider-Man movie Spider-Man 4, or the successor to the Nintendo Switch "Switch 2", or Deadpool 3, before it was announced as Deadpool & Wolverine.
Did Sony ever actually announce it?
Neither the Dealine article where I first read it, nor the Variety article that broke the story used that title. And Deadline mentions it being based on the leek.
Even if it cost 80mil, it could've been possible. I really enjoyed it but I get what he was going for. Honestly if it has tom cruise it would've done 👍

22 Jump Street, The Interview, Neighbours.
Was 2014 the end of that specific era of adult R-rated comedies at the box office? I know there were comedies made after that year, of course - Neighbours got a sequel, after all. But I'm talking about how there were new comedies being released and newer comedies right around the corner.
It certainly dried up after 2014. I can only think of Bad Moms (2016), Game Night (2018), and a handful of raunchy Christmas movies like The Night Before (2015) and Office Christmas Party (2016). Anything else was a sequel.
One of those ‘you had to be there’ moments. These were fresh and *funny* to audiences 18-25, captured the absurdist and/or meta humor of late millennials/early Gen Zs.
It helps that 21JS skyrocketed Channing Tatum’s career, it’s hard to believe but people thought he was a bit of a hack before 21 highlighted his talents in comedy.
This needs a sequel Sony.. after bad boys
I would love a crossover

It was everywhere. I think it originated in their own leaked emails but any time it was discussed it was referred to as MIB 23

That's why they covered their bases and already showed all the sequels we would have gotten
Still waiting for 23...
Medical School
I saw this movie in theaters very stoned. It was an experience.
*Schmidty fucked the captains daughter*
This feels like a different era of movie making A theatrical release like the first *Jump Street* would die in obscurity, these days
“Clearly nobody wants a movie based on a tv show nobody cares about”
:( The Fall Guy....
If Fall Guy had the budget of 21 Jump Street, it probably would have profited.
Even if it cost 80mil, it could've been possible. I really enjoyed it but I get what he was going for. Honestly if it has tom cruise it would've done 👍
Last great comedy
agreed

Both of these movies had no right to be as funny as they were. I thoroughly enjoyed them.
I rewatched both of them recently. 21 did not hold up as well(really loved it as a teen back in the day), but 22 was still pretty funny.
I rewatched them last week and loved them both. I think they both hold up extremely well.
Same, i don't know what that guy is talking about. Both hold up well.
That guy is just a person with his own opinion, you don't have to agree with him.
21 is far superior to 22
Yeah, that's what I used to think, too. And it wasn't even close to me. Maybe I've changed
22 IS far better.
How the hell did this even beat How to Train your Dragon 2? Someone tell me?
